Pick your 4 inductees. Try 2 changes please.

Joe Nieuwendyk- He has 1126 points, with 564 career goals, and was a great two-way player and finished +155, and was always a top faceoff man. He is a two time 50 goal scorer, and scored 20 goals in every season that he played 50 games, except one when he was 36, and still managed 17 goals. His career lasted 20 seasons, in which he won 3 cups, won a Gold Medal, won a Calder, and has a Conn Smythe.

Eric Lindros- If Neely is in, why not Lindros? He was dominate, one of the most physical players all-time, and one of the best power forwards of all-time. Was a 1.14 point per game player. Has a Hart, a Pearson, a Gold Medal, X6 all-star, and was pure dominate.

Adam Oates- I can't believe he isn't in yet. He is one of the best playmakers of all-time with 1079 career assists, and had 1420 career points in 1337 career games. He has the most career points for any retired player that isn't in the HOF, that is eligible.

Dave Andreychuk- He has the most career powerplay goals, and is 11th all-time in goals with 640. He played 23 seasons in the NHL. He is 23rd all-time in points, 5th in games played.

Changes are Pavel Bure over Dave Andreychuk and Doug Gilmour over Joe Nieuwendyk.

Bure vs. Andreychuk:

Bure: 437 goals, 779 points, +42
Andreychuk: 640 goals, 1338 points, +38

But, Andreychuk played the 5th most games all-time. Bure played only 702 due to injuries. Andreychuk played more than double Bure's games, (1639), but still has a lower +/- for his career.

Per game averages:

Bure: .62 Goals Per, 1.11 Points Per
Andreychuk: .39 Goals Per, .82 Points Per

Andreychuk was top 10 in goals twice in his 23 season career, Bure was top 5 in goals 5 times and led the league 3 times in his 12 season career. And I'm even counting 11 and 15 game "seasons". The least Andreychuk played in a season was 42 games. Bure had a hundred times more skill than Andreychuk, and showed it despite often being banged up. But you can't punish Bure for this, since you have Lindros on your list, who also had many injury troubles.

Let's look at playoff stats:

Bure: 64 games, 35 goals, 70 points, +8
Andreychuk: 162 games, 43 goals, 97 points, -1

Despite playing 98 more games, Andreychuk only scored 8 more goals and 27 more points. Bure was simply a way better player.

Bure vs. Andreychuk:

First off, Bure was too one dimensional. He never hit, and he was terrible in his own end. Sure, Bure was an elite goal scorer, but you need to do more to be a HOF. On the other hand, Dave Andreychuk was a great player in his own end, as he killed penalties, and was called upon in the last minutes of a game when up to finish the game, Bure never did either of those things. Although Andreychuck was a natural winger, he usually took faceoffs because he was so good at them, and he often took key faceoffs.

Longevity is also an important factor in hockey. Andreychuck has played in the 5th most games all-time at 1639, and has played 23 seasons. Bure only played in 12 seasons, and 702 games. To be a HOF, you have to dominant over a long period of time, not just for a few seasons.

Andreychuck was a 9 time 30 goal scorer, and an 18 time 20 goal scorer, he scored 20 goals more times than Bure played in games.

Andreychuck is also a great leader, something Bure wasn't. Andreychuck captained TB to a Stanley Cup, a Cup that Bure never won.

Why have a HOF if your 11th all-time goal scorer isn't in the HOF?

Good luck to who ever takes this.

No builders, only players.

November 6, 2009  06:14 PM ET

I pretty sure I know what one change will be.

November 6, 2009  06:16 PM ET

For Lindros, it should be 6x all-star, not x6 all-star.

November 6, 2009  06:17 PM ET

Good, it is Bobby. This should be a good TD.

November 6, 2009  06:24 PM ET

A PP specialist and a head-case?

BTW.............dominant!

November 6, 2009  06:24 PM ET

The fact that Andreychuk played forever kinda hurts the fact that he is 11th in scoring.

Longevity has to be a good thing. Besides, he just wasn't a powerplay specialist, he was really good defensively.

If you think you can do better, take the TD.

PP is an important part of the game, and he was a great goal scorer. If the games 11th all-time goal scorer isn't in the HOF, why have a HOF? Besides, he wasn't just a PP specialist, he was great in his own end, and even though he was a natural winger, he took most of the faceoffs and was great at faceoffs.

Who do you think wins tonights game Argos and Roberts? Carolina or Toronto?

November 6, 2009  06:52 PM ET

Big game tonite Argos: Carolina vs Toronto! If you guys cant beat Carolina, your teams in big trouble this year.

November 6, 2009  06:54 PM ET

I hope Carolina wins 5-2.

November 6, 2009  06:59 PM ET

I'd pick Bure over Andreychuck and PJ Axelsson over Lindros.

November 6, 2009  07:23 PM ET

1-0 Carolina!

November 6, 2009  07:49 PM ET

2-0 Carolina!

2-2!

Bure was pure one dimensional, he couldn't do anything but score, but Andreychuk was great at both ends of the ice, and has a cup.
