New York Jets GM Mike Tenenbaum deserves an extension.

Regardless of how the Jets finish their season, you have to be happy with the general manager's performance.
Sure, the Vernon Gholston pick was by all accounts a major bust, but you have to realistically expect any GM to make a bust or two. In all, you have to be satisfied with what he has done to completely rebuild talent in recent years:
Drafting Ferguson, Mangold, Revis and second day picks, Leon Washington and Shonne Greene. You look at the astute trades to haul in Braylon Edwards, Kris Jenkins, Thomas Jones and a potential franchise QB.
In all, I am comfortable having him run my team as the moves he has made will make us a good team for years to come. As a fan, I'd prefer years of being good to being a one season wonder. For what he started with, no doubt, Tenenbaum has improved our team for both the short and long term.

he started in 2006. wasnt that the same year mangeni started in NY?
and do you think the whole brett favre saga was worth it?

The draft is a crapshoot. You get a Ryan Leaf and you are a dud....you pick Peyton Manning and you are a genius. Sanchez: 8TD 10INT
and he only topped 200 yds ONCE in the last 7 games!
The Jets have lost 4 of their last 5.
How about we actually let this guy EARN an extension before we lock him up longterm.
(remember what happened to notre dame after they extened their coach.....)
And Braylon Edwards may be a great deal...or he may end up like a T.O. It takes time to tell.
Braylon has only had ONE great pro bowl year. In 09 he has only 13 catches and less than 200 yds. Miles Austin did that in 1 game, LOL!
I say let his contract run a while and see if he can MAINTAIN his early success.
Remember...they were 4-12 in 2007.
Have they REALLY turned the corner? Too early to tell.
