Frank: Me said 11/08, 01:04 PM
Let me start by saying I am the biggest SEC Homer here.
I am blown away that a conference with this many very good football teams feels the need to fix games in order to ensure 2 BCS Bowls and the 17M each that comes with them.
Games in which the higher ranked team received amazingly blown calls to assist:
LSU vs GA
FL vs AR
FL vs MissSt
FL vs TN
Bama vs TN
Bama vs LSU
Yesterday took the CAKE
LSU intercepted the ball with 2 feet in bounds. There is no dispute or arguing. It happened. It was clearly clear on the replay. They reviewed and called it incomplete.
There is no other explanation. The games are fixed. Period. End of Subject.
Darth Maim said 11/08, 02:30 PM
TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH YOUR STATEMENT....
Why would you penalize an entire conference because of blown calls? If you haven't noticed:
The baseball playoffs were filled with them. Should we ban all teams with winning records?
The NFL has missed calls every game. Should we just cancel the rest of the season?
"There is no other explanation. The games are fixed. Period. End of Subject."
There IS an explanation. You are WRONG. Period. End of Subject
Frank: Me said 11/08, 02:36 PM
I need your explanation.
You have to explain the 3 penalties that gave FL the TD against Arkansas.
You have to explain how the 3rd least penalized team in the NCAA can lose a close game against #1 with #1 having 1 pentalty and the 3rd least penalized team in the NCAA having 8.
You have to explain how there can be a divot 8"'s from the sideline, the film show the dirt fly, the still show the ball posessed, and they call it incomplete even after review?
These calls are not going both ways. They are going for Florida and Alabama. You arent penalizing the whole conference. You are penalizing the SEC the 32M$$$$ in BCS money they are fixing the games to get. You can penalize the 2 teams who the calls are in favor of. You are only penalizing the Conference, Florida, and Alabama. Noone else is penalized here.
There is no way anyone can dispute at this point that the fix is on. There is means, motive, opportunity and an Ocean Cargo Ship load of indisputable evidence at this point.
Darth Maim said 11/08, 03:44 PM
I don't have to explain anything...
Your TD says: "The SEC should be held out of all BCS Games".
I disagree with your idea that all SEC teams should be held out of all BCS games. You state that even if a team is ranked high enough to go to one of the BCS games they should not go. Because you think there is some widespread conspiracy which includes the game officials, SEC officials, SEC coaches, and anyone else who has a stake in the conference. I feel this is an outlandish statement and is wrong.
You believe there is a conspiracy against any SEC teams that are lower ranked. I say BS!
Frank: Me said 11/08, 05:20 PM
The only 2 teams with any shot at a BCS Bowl are Bama and FL.
These are the teams who the games have been fixed for.
Therefore, I would definately say the SEC teams should be held out of the BCS bowls.

That is the play above from Saturday.
There is no chance that the review official seen that and did not determine it was an interception. It was not a bad call. It was reviewed and seen by the replay official and they called it not an interception. That is not a bad call, that is a FIX. There is no other explanation. Anyone but Ray Charles can see that is an interception. The only other explanation is that the game was fixed. Given that, they should not be eligible for a BCS Bowl.
Period.
Darth Maim said 11/08, 05:53 PM
First off...nice job on the arguments. They were well thought out.
Second...thank you for arguing in a timely fashion.
Third...I still disagree.
Your TD title is: "The SEC should be held out of all BCS Games".
If you stated: 'Florida and Alabama should be held out of all BCS games', it would support your argument. But you said The SEC.
You state in your 2nd argument: "There is no way anyone can dispute at this point that the fix is on. There is means, motive, opportunity and an Ocean Cargo Ship load of indisputable evidence at this point."
Once again, I disagree that there is a fix in. It would entail every officiating crew for each game Florida and Alabama have been in as well as every game any other SEC team who had a shot to go undefeated. It would also include the SEC league officials and anyone else who is able to manipulate the outcome of a dozen or more football games.
Too many people would then have to remain silent for the entire football season.
This doesn't sound too realistic to me.
Maybe the officials just suck.
Good luck Frank: Me!

I'm a Pac 10 fan, I rarely watch SEC games, but I saw the game yesterday. While you are correct, it did certainly appear that the LB had two feet in bounds. However, if that left foot, was even slightly skimming the line, the rest of his foot, and the other foot don't mean a thing. He was out of bounds. With that said though, I do think he was in bounds and for a long time now I have believe that SEC officials do their best to assure that the higher ranked SEC team always wins.

dont kid, its indisputable, both feet were in

It is disputable. However let me say this, I am very impressed that he was able to get one foot 100% in, and probably his other foot in as well. That's pro quality defense.

1 play does not chnage the outcome of a game.
the non-unsportsmanlike conduct call on cody did NOT change the fact he blocked the damn kick.
and the non-interception call didnt change teh fact LSU didnt win the game.
bad calls go BOTH ways. just bc your team doesnt win it doesnt mean your team didnt also benefit from a blown call here or there
stop whining like a little girl.

likely that if they had given them the int they would still have lost, but the bad call took all chance, the games are all tainted
and its not just the helmet on cody, its the entire game
do you realize that at 1 point in that game bama had 1 penalty and lsu had 8
guess what, tn had 8 penalties and bama had 1
its not kosher, and no the calls arent going both ways, they are going the way of the undefeated team, over and over
you cant dispute it, the fix is on

I agree with left 100%. Florida, and Alabama have gotton every call in the book to keep them undefeated. Right says if a team is ranked high enough to go to a BSC game they should go. But think about if the calls, that were completely wrong, went right these teams would not be ranked high enough to go. Therefor these teams shouldn't go

read the TD, it wasnt a bad call Saturday, it was a blatant fix

Usually, I'd agree that one call shouldn't make a difference. But when you're late in a game with a one-score difference, a turnover can be a game- and momentum-changer. Maybe the outcome would have been the same, but maybe not. There's a great article on CNNSI about it.
I'd also disagree about the LSU-Ga game. the exact same call was made against LSU on their previous touchdown. Both calls were crap, but it wasn't close to being a game-changing call.

Great comment. I'd also like to point out the helmet-to-chest from the Bama player to the LSU quarterback. If there was ever a crown of the helmet hit, that was it. The ref was so close to the play, he could have stuck his hand between the guys helmet and Jefferson's sternum, like someone trying to open a closing elevator door. But he didn't throw a flag.
I'm obviously an LSU fan, but I've seen many LSU home games where the calls were one-sided in our favor, too. It does put a damper on the game when you know you've got to win decisively or the refs could take it away. I sure hope the other conferences aren't this bad or blatant.

I find it strange that so many of your are so unwilling to believe that something is wrong in the SEC. Blown calls have occurred in every major game over the past few weeks, and and in every case the favored team has reaped the benefits.
I'm not saying it's definitely a deliberate conspiracy, but ignore the possiblity is just stupid. At best, the officials in the SEC are atrocious. At worst, this is by design. And the truth could be anywhere in between.
It's a little too coincidental for me at this point. Call after call after call...I dunno. Something is wrong.
