Create a team using 3 Forwards, 2 Defenseman, and 1 Goalie. CANNOT USE INJURED PLAYERS. Team must be built to succeed now.

LW
Marian Gaborik

C
Anze Kopitar

RW
Dany Heatley

D
Tomas Kaberle
Chris Pronger

G
Ryan Miller

Good Luck

Changes...

LW - Danny Heatley -San Jose
11 goals and 19 points
(NHL.com has him a LW and Gaborik as a RW)

RW - Rick Nash - Columbus
11 goals and tied for 3rd in NHL with 22 points

Goalie - Ilya Bryzgalov - Phoenix
3 shutouts (tops in the NHL) 1.98 GAA and has started 14 of the Coyotes 17 games

All Stats as per NHL.com

So you agree with me on Heatley? Thanks for the praise. :)

And about Gaborik vs. Nash.

- Gaborik is a plus 6, and Nash is a minus 5. That shows alot about how much they help the team while they are on the ice.

- I agree Bryzgalov is doing very well so far this year, but not as good as Miller.. Miller so far has posted a 1.89 GAA(2nd in the league) and a .936 Save%.(Also 2nd in the league). Bryzgalov has a 1.97 GAA, and a .925 Save%. Not quite at the same level as Miller.

As good as Miller has been, Bryzgalov has been that much better.

Of the 10 wins the Yotes have so far this season, Bryzgalov has 9 of them, 3 of those by shutout. With all the turmoil with the franchise over the last 6 months, the fact that this team isn't in the NHL cellar is simply amazing. Pardon the pun but the Coyotes are a franchise lost in the desert, but are playing well on the melting ice in Arizona. And Bryzgalov is the main reason for that.

And as for the save% #s Andrew ???Red Light??? Raycroft has the same save% (.936) as Miller, & the NHL leader is Niittymaki (.940), but you don't see me naming any of them do you?

Gaborik has missed 138 games (nearly 2 full yrs) due to injuries (Hip, Groin & Back) over the last 5 seasons, not including the 2 he has already missed this season. He is far too fragile a player to make it thru a full NHL season.
He breaks done more than my brother's 1992 Ford Escort does on the highway.

Nash has missed only 11 games in the last 3 years & has consistently been one of the best snipers in the NHL. 4 x 30+ goal seasons (2 of those 40+ goals). All along without a half decent centre his entire career to feed him the puck.

Forfeited Turn

Nothing left to say I see... I guess I stumped you!

Realistically the only reason that Kopitar is playing so well this year is due to Ryan Smyth playing on his line this year. Kopitar is finally playing up to his potential as a 1st round pick in 2005. But as the rigors of the NHL season set in he will come back to earth.
However, one benefit is that he won't be playing in the Olympic tourney as Slovenia has not qualified this time, so he should be well rested come the latter half of the schedule.

I think you could've done better on the goalie section.

Easy vote right. No one who wants to win this season would pin their hopes on the health of Gaborik's groin.

He didn't even argue, but hey, if thats your opinion, thats your opinion.

Neither did you.

If you hadn't noticed, I haven't actually voted. I was merely saying that right has the far stronger team that would have a better chance in my mind of winning something in large part due to Gaborik's fragility.

November 9, 2009  10:45 AM ET

Hornqvist, Peverly, Eriksson, Kaberle, S. Neidermayer. That team would go deep right now.

But it won't in a month or two.

I hate TDs like this where people are taken purely based on stats despite the small sample size. Potential and past performances need to be taken into account along with current performance.

gabby = injured. miller = will fall back to his career 2.60 GAA average. kaberle = wont keep up his pace. Heatley and Kopitar cant carry a team there captain
