Think about how the only time that people say "winning isn't everything" are people who don't win anything, they want to soften the blow of being inferior by using ties and praising loses. Its like how Americans dominate all sports from basketball to baseball to football and when Europeans want to compete they create ties and say that its not about winning. Its like how Michigan State loses to Ohio and says there's next year and winning isn't everything.

Good, then people who dont think that winning is everything should accept that winning is everything because think about how in every sport we win, while soccer people have to have ties just to not feel the crush of defeat.
But that makes sense once you consider how winners like Brian Urlacher push forward towards the endzone, while soccer players play for the tie.
Have you ever heard someone celebrate a loss or even worse a tie? That there proves winning is everything.

In the grand scheme of life, no winning is not "everything". Then again happiness can be ones own personal victory or triumph, if you will. If you are so consumed by the travails of "winning" to where you are miserable , does winning really make you victorious? Can one find victory in indecision?
If winning is everything and we as a society follow this philosophy so literally, where we feel it necessary to inject toxins and PED's, can we really call it "winning"? When your actions are so drastic and detrimental it could possibly deter a whole generation away from a sport thats as american as apple pie, is that winning?
Is risking your livelihood and reputation a plausible wager when looking to win?
In todays competitive sports the goal should always be "win", it's the reason we as a society creates competition. I do believe their are limits though.
I guess its all how you view winning and the philosophical quandary that is "winning at all cost" or "winning isn't everything".
What do you think?

That sounds me to like a bunch of european liberal thinking, like how ties are good.
Life is about winning, stastistical achievement proves winnerdom. If like was like soccer it would suck because it would end in a 0-0 tie and there would be no superiority. The point of living is to gratify the ego, to feel as if you've accomplished more than anyone else.
Hence winning is everything, style of winning doesnt matter as long as youve accomplished dominance.
Agrippa GODSON said 11/09, 02:55 PM
Well existentialism and philosophical ideals weren't created in America by soccer hating ass-clowns. Everything american has some type of European influence on them. What exactly is "european liberal thinking"? You school of thoughts makes Americans look bad.
"Statistical achievement" is premature ejaculation if anything. I have no idea what "winnerdom" means.
I knew you were an idiot , therefore I have never read or participated in any of your TD's.
You have done nothing in this TD to prove you are worthy of time. Your outlook on life is as skewed as your perception of soccer.
Winning is based upon ones perception of winning. I can win this TD but based on your idiocy , is it really a win?
Have I lost, wasting time to respond to your malarky?
I think you indeed win by being a **** idiot, which is counterproductive on your part. Or is that just my perception? Can I be safe to say my assumption is shared by the majority of the Fannation users.
Perhaps if you would leave the site, maybe we could all feel this sense of "winnerdom" you speak of.

based on your TD record bconn, I'm betting you're a fan of the "winning isn't everything" mantra, no matter what you may say here

Or have some humility.
One team has to lose. Every time.
Everyone will lose.
If you cannot take losing you shouldn't be a professional athlete.

Eagles - 8 playoff wins to Cowboys' 0 playoff wins in the last decade. I would say that the Eagles do know a little bit about winning. I mean when it counts, anyway...

Urlacher would think bconn is a loser.
Yep - You, above all people on FN, should know that "Winning Isn't Everything" -- Right bconn?
I mean, SURELY you already know how to "celebrate a loss" as you put it.
I wonder what a winner the likes of Brian Urlacher, would think of a loser who keeps pushing the same message over and over and over and keeps LOSING over and over and over with that ... Same-Old ~ Same-Old

Do we always have to agree? Can we have a philosophical debate in regards to both sides of the debate? My first argument was in jest anyways.
