I know analysts are blaming the offensive line for Snead's drop this year, but I have watched first hand this season that the offensive line is not the problem. He is not throwing to open receivers and when he does he under throws or overthrows the receiver. Something is wrong in Oxford and it needs to change.

I disagree, I do not believe that Jevan Snead should be benched.
Granted, Snead as a Quarterback, looks like his crappy twin brother compared to last season. His stats have dropped from the previous year. The offensive line has underperformed this year. Although they have only given up 10 sacks on Snead this season, the amount of quarterback hurries have increased significantly.
However, perhaps the better question would be, if Jevan Snead were benched, who who take his place? 3rd string senior Billy Tap has 5 college passes with three completions. Snead's actual back-up is a freshman, Nathan Stanley, who with 16 pass attempts is hardly the person you want to put in charge of Ole Miss' offense.
Under these circumstances, switching quarterbacks from the experienced Snead to any one of the inexperienced back-ups at this point in the season, would be foolish.
Ole Miss still has an opportunity to play in a financially lucrative bowl game while also expanding their image on the national stage. Keeping Snead in the starting role will not only win more games, but ensure the continued balance of the Ole Miss offense, even if it could use improvement in the long-term.

Nathan Stanley could be a better replacement. Against Alabama Snead was terrible. Some of it was Alabama's defense, but Snead was also throwing terrible passes. He is so up and down. I've watched the practices. Stanley has just as strong of an arm as Snead but is much more accurate. I think if Snead did not have the name Snead, Stanley would have been put in a long time ago.
Students at Ole Miss want Snead out. If their offense was consistent, Ole Miss would be 7-2 at least. The defense has been strong all year save for last week against Auburn. I think if things turn bad against Tennessee's defense (which is highly possible) I think Stanley should be given a shot.
Also, Snead is inaccurate against low caliber teams. 16-29 against Northern Arizona? Come on, that's ridiculous. He was outplayed by NAU's QB (who used to be at Ole Miss but transferred because of Snead's arrival.)

How can you say Stanley is much more accurate than Snead in big game situations? He's only thrown 16 college passes. Here's the thing. Do you really think Ole Miss has a better chance against the Tennessee and LSU defenses with an unproven freshman? Granted, Snead's going to have to raise his game to have Ole Miss competetive, but I would trust my offense under Snead over a freshman.
Given that Ole Miss' season is almost over, they cannot win the division title, and the fact that Snead is a senior, illustrates the futility in benching him now. It would achieve nothing except discontent on the team.
I look back at the Ole-Miss Arkansas game, where Snead threw for a career high 332 yards and see what kind of potential Snead has. A the end of the day, Snead is more likely to move the ball against the Vols and Tigers than Stanley. This why I say stay the course and hope Snead finds his groove late in the season, especially since he's going to have to make a statement if he wants any chance in the draft.

Snead is a junior, but against Arkansas he almost blew that game. He threw two picks in a row. That let Arkansas back into the game. Snead has the talent but he throws entirely too many picks. Against Auburn, I wouldn't say those were his fault he played pretty good. The only problem is if he starts going on an interception rampage like he is prone to. Put in the freshman what can it hurt.
If things go awry saturday, Stanley should be put it in. It has happened before where a freshman came in and finished the job a starter couldn't. Snead is a great QB, but he has played bad all season. The accuracy isn't there and it has cost Ole MIss games. He has thrown 2 interceptions or more in 5 games this year. Those are interceptions Ole Miss can't afford against LSU or Tennessee. Obviously, he can hurt the team with his turnovers. I'm just saying putting in Stanley might change things. The interceptions has been what has killed Ole Miss this year (that and Nutt not using Dexter like he should until the Arkansas game). If you keep in the same QB you will get the same mistakes. Maybe a new QB changes things.

I fully get what you are saying. However, I would simply say that inexperienced Stanley is no less likely to throw interceptions than Snead. Especially against an LSU defense. I simply think staying with Snead can only increase his confidence. I realize it's taken too long, I just see going with Stanley at this point in the season a bad idea. If Ole Miss' offense and O-line were particularly strong, I would say perhaps give it a shot. But considering the state of malaise Ole Miss has been in all season, I think the order for Stanley would be too tall.
Ulimately, keep Snead in and hope that he has the tools to make some magic happen late in the season, and most importantly for school and conference, in whatever bowl game Ole Miss ends up in.

Oxford is actually a very classy place. It's a great town for a college, especially a fine one like Ole Miss.

It's the classiest place in the SEC with exception to Tennessee or Auburn. Where else are you going to see chandeliers in tents for tailgates. I'm in pharmacy school here and I think it is an amazing place. I grew up in Auburn so I've been around to every school in the SEC.
