- 6'6 280lb and 4.3 40 yrd dash.
- Reggie Bush and Larry Fitzgerald
- Biggest and strongest mofos on the planet
- All American elite college alpha males
- Big manly war pads
- Most intelligent, the football playbook is hundreds of pages

i would really enjoy it if you could actually post an ARGUMENT instead of a bunch of impressive, yet slightly pointless...points...about football. WHO is 6'6, 280lbs and 4.3? I'm 6'4, 150, and ran a 4.4! Im 15 years old: and i play BASKETBALL!!!

I just absolutely HATE it when people dont post an argument. It really pisses me off.

NFL athltes are the biggest, strongest, fastest and most respected athletes on the planet.

Every kid in the world is competing to be in the NFL, because thats where the fame and money is hence it has the biggest talent pool and most money.

No.

NFL 'athltes' are big, strong, fast, and respected.

Sumo wrestlers are bigger.

Usain Bolt is faster.

"Every kid in the world" is not trying to be in the NFL. I would love to be, but i face the fact that i am a toothpick and would get snapped in half. I am NOT trying to be in the NFL.

Like it or not, soccer players are tough, too. They play for 45 minutes straight, no timeouts, no stopping the game every six seconds, and only shinpads. Granted they do not get hit as hard, but watch a video on youtube about serious injuries, and there will most likely be more soccer related than football.

What about rugby? similar aspects as football, they wear absolutely NO pads and have as much, if not MORE contact than football.

The NFL does have fame. The NFL does have money. Eli is close to, i believe, 100 Million dollars on his contract. But look at baseball. They also are making quite a bit of money, for doing a lot less. Swing, run, slide, sit. Catch, throw, run, sit. etc.

Football has greats, such as Bart Starr, Bronko Nagurski, Lamar Hunt, and Vince Young. :)

But there is no way you can convince me that football has the biggest talent pool.

NFL has the best atheltes mix of speed and strenght, no question about it.

Also kids around the world dream of becoming NFL athletes first and foremost, hence football has the biggest talent pool and hence the best athletes. Its all about money, NFL players make vastly more money than soccer players so every kid in the world dreams of the money and fame that comes with being a NFL star, not the little money and little ratings and low fame of being a soccer player.

Also I know nothing about rugby but it looks okay to me. Kind of like a third world version of football.

The players in the NFL are great athletes, but to say they are the best is a stretch.

some of the less popular sports are often considered more of the athletic.

for example swimming, tennis(believe it or not requires tremendous athleticism), decathalon athletes, triathalon athletes and so on.

I'd agree with you completely and I'd have to mention gymnastics as well. Requires a heck of a lot of strength, agility and flexibility. Decathalon and triathalon for sure as well!

Oh and left....

1) Not every kid tries to make it to the nfl. Some hate football.

2) Your a complete dumbass. Go back to school. Open some looks. LEARN something so you can actually speak intelligently.

you might be right about the nfl having the greatest athletes in the world but your arguement is rubbish... if i was arguing on your side i'd definitely take the 'big manly' war pads thing out of the arguement. also you seem to imply that america has the greatest athletes in the world with 'All American elite college alpha males'. and as for your 'every kid in the world' comment, most kids outside of america are barely even aware of the nfl. then dont get me started on your comment that footballers are the most intelligent

November 9, 2009  08:27 PM ET

I would just assume here that the competitors of the World's Strong Man Competitions would be the biggest and strongest athletes.

Again, I don't have the facts like Bconn does, it is just and educated judgment.

The US Armed Forces are the best athletes. Sports games are played in some fashion where ever you find Soldiers. They are not always orthodox to the rules but it is a release from humping the bush or whatever they call it nowadays. maybe beating the heat. Our armed forces produce men and women who are in top physical shape, combat is tougher physically then any of the other sport, Football,Baseball etc..etc.. and they are mentally tested to the max. Staying alive is worlds apart from running for a TD or hitting a home run. So our Armed Forces are the best trained athletes both physically and mentally. The NFL athletes pale in comparison. BTW, Veterans day is wed.,the 11th, thank a vet that you know. Just say thanks, maybe buy him or her a beer. That means more to us then anything. They say football games can be a war, fought in the trenches with long bombs being thrown etc., it is not even close. Our Servicemen and women are the best athletes.
