Dec. 4 is Bulls @ Cavs again. Based on each team's performance thus far, who do you think will win?

As much as I like the Bulls, I'm feeling a Cavs win here. The Bulls are getting better and better, but their scoring is not nearly as good as the Cavs'. If you go to this website: http://statsheet.com/nba/games/2009/11/05/chicago-bulls-86-cleveland-cavaliers- 85
you will find a bar graph on the four factors to winning. It is not entirely accurate, because they is more to a win than Shooting, Ball Handling, Off Rebounding, and Shooting FTs. Either way, it is interesting that Chicago lost in each area.
If I were to guess the score, it would be somewhere around:
CHI: 91
CLE: 94
I'm not too good at predicting scores, but whatever...
It's someone else's turn now...

Two notes of contention:

1. A game in December has little to no bearing on "how the teams have performed so far."

Teams could have injured players. Teams could have had a light schedule. There is no basis for the prediction of a winning team next month, on their performance after 4 games or so. There is no logical reason to use that as a basis for your argument right now. A month from now, you could... because it would give you a larger sample size.

2. Three more weeks will give the Cavs more time to figure out their Shaq experiment. With Gordon gone, Chicago still needs a clutch scorer that demands the ball. Deng or Salmons aren't that guy. The Bulls aren't too bad, but they aren't a finals type team. They weren't last year with Gordon, so they aren't this year if they haven't replaced him. Cleveland already is. Expect the score to be a bigger margin.

You are right that the Cavs will win, but your score indicates it is going to be a close game. The Cavs would win by at least 8.

I'm going to have to agree with you on that one. Cavs should win by more.

LOL. Alright, glad you have seen the error of your ways.

While it has been good to see Noah step up his game recently, I am wondering if he can keep it up. He often plays against other bigs and he seems outmatched. Guys who are bigger, stronger and have more experience are often across from him (much like Okafor for the past few years playing Center).

Ben Wallace was able to do it, most because of the team he was on and the defensive system. I am not sure if Noah can keep up the improvement, but that will be key for Chicago if they want to beat strong teams and teams with big centers (Shaw and Big Z in Cleveland).

Chicago also needs a tough defender to shut down LBJ. They don't have Nocioni anymore. They don't have perimeter toughness like a Bowen or Payton.

I am just not sold on a defensive ability for them to stop guys from scoring. The Bulls may score a lot of points, but you gotta stop the other team if you want to contend. LBJ can play strong D and Shaq still alters shots in the paint.

Since we both agree, do you wanna draw?

But we didn't agree. I disagreed with your premise and your "close game" prediction of a final score of around 3 points.

According to you, I also convinced you with my arguments. As such, that means I deserve extra kudos for turning you against yourself! What would a draw get either of us? lol

cavs = 4th seed

4th seed in what?
They are 13th in the NBA and 3rd in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference and 7th in the Eastern Conference
I know that actually goes toward your argument, but I just want to know what you mean

I didnt think that. I bet on them to win, and threw and extra $20 on it being done in 6 games.

Cavs are 2 years removed from being slaughtered in the Finals and its been six months since they got epically beaten down by the Magic.

They are Finals Ready in ESPN's eyes.

And yours apparently as well...
