All they need is surging Nebraska to beat Texas in the Big 12 Championship. A long shot but not impossible.

With a wins over #16 Utah, #22 BYU, & #24 (in AP) Clemson and no losses TCU would desereve it over a no loss Cinni/Boise or a 1 loss Texas/G Tech.

Kind of "jumping the gun" arent you?

They have defeated BYU and Clemson but play Utah at home on November 14th. Thats no easy W right there, Jack.

Dont count your chickens before they hatch.

"All they need is surging Nebraska to beat Texas in the Big 12 Championship. A long shot but not impossible."

A surging Nebraska?

They started 4-1 and are just 2-2 over their last 4 games.

Sure, they beat Oklahoma, 10-3, but the Sooners arent exactly the same offensive team without Sam Bradford AND Jermaine Gresham.

And the other win was against an improved but still medicore Baylor team.

With a tough game against Kansas on the road.

They havent exactly defeated a top 5 or top 10 team.

In addition they are behind Kansas State in the North standings, 3-2 in Big 12 while KSU is 4-2.

Dont go to Vegas anytime soon.

I know Nebraska or K State beating Texas is a long shot but everything else is set up perfect for this to happen.

TCU is already ahead of Texas in the computer ranking (weak Big 12 this year) and losing the last game of the season would drop them out of contention.

If Florida beats Bama in the SEC title game as expected there wont be a rematch for the National title game.

The only other teams that have a shot are Cinni, Boise, & Georgia Tech. Between the computer ranking and the polls I don't see the BCS ending up with them above TCU when it's all said and done.

You keep glossing over Utah.

Thats no easy win.

The Utes are 8-1 and are 15th in nation in ppg allowed, 16.4. TCU has a better offense and defense but this will be TCU's biggest challenge all season. BYU and Clemson have the defense that Utah does.

Utah's only loss is to a solid Oregon team.

You know what happens when you assume right?

Make an ass-u-me.

TCU is favored Utah and should win. If they lose they are out of the BCS talk. Let's say they win for arguments sake. So the 3 things I'm ass-u-me-ing are:

Texas losing a game (long shot but could happen)

TCU beating Utah (likley)

Florida beating Bama - this doesn't even mater. If the first 2 happen it'll be TCU vs the winner of the SEC title game.

I don't mind losing. A couple weeks ago I lost TD "If TCU wins out they deserve (and will get) a BCS game over Boise State" now what do you all think!

"Florida beating Bama - this doesn't even mater. If the first 2 happen it'll be TCU vs the winner of the SEC title game."

Technically thats not correct.

Lets assume TCU beats Utah, the Horned Frogs still have games against

at Wyoming
New Mexico

Now, I what you are thinking.

"Thats a longshot!" But so is Texas losing. And as you said in your argument, "It could happen."

In addition Wyoming played Utah tough and lost, 22-10.

Stranger things have happened.

no

This might get ugly. I agree that TCU should get a BCS game, but the title game is just not going to happen. The computers might want them if a scenario works out, but the Harris voters will not let it happen. Sad, but true.

If Utah didn't get one last year, when they beat TCU and BYU (who were undefeated before the game), then how will TCU get one when they have both lost games already.

Then who do you think would be in the game if Texas and Bama each have a loss?
- Bama would have just lost to Florida so no one wants to see a rematch.
- Texas would win a Big 12 that's down this year (they currently have only 1 win over a currently ranked team to TCUs 3)
- Cinnci's schedule isn't no tougher then TCUs and they are already ahead of them.
- Boise - Oregon's loss cost them
- Iowa is a full 0.2 behind TCU in the computer rankings behind TCU and can't make it up if TCU wins out.
- G-Tech is even futrther behind (0.32)

Its simply not going to happen.

November 10, 2009  05:29 PM ET

The possibilities for this are endless, but in the end they won't happen. The BCS conferences will get their two teams.

HA!

November 10, 2009  05:36 PM ET

whats more likely is that Florida and Alabama, which play in the tough SEC, both lose a game and that will put Texas vs TCU. That would be an interesting matchup as well.

Right side has a point!!

Only if every team in the six BCS conferences have two or more loses and a team like TCU (or Boise St.) goes undefeated would you see a BCS buster in the championship game. And even then it wouldn't surprise me if the BCS gave the undefeated team the shaft. The big 6 designed that system to make money and have a monopoly on the CF championship. They will not give up either one without a fight, even if it means cheating.

IT does not matter BAMA can beat anyone anytime. BAMA national champs 2009. All other teams are a joke it cracks me up listening to you guys like any other team maters. Best thing you can to is become a BAMA fan that way you are allways a winner. All other teams are weak in tradition and are jelous of the dynasty that is BAMA FOOTBALL - ROLL TIDE

Everybody has a little homer in them as Stowe says.

But a "blind homer" will never be able to see.

Jealous.

Matters.

Come on, dont show that great Bama education you have.

I think I'm going to need more convincing.

Maybe the TD shpuld have been written that TCU SHOULD play for the Nat. Champ. instaed of will play.
Texas a feeble 3-5-1 v The Spread ---Money loser
TCU a very strong 6-2 v The Spread---Money winner
BoiseST a very strong 6-2 v The Spread---Money winner
Cincy a strong 6-3 v The Spread.---Money winner.

I think that Texas is not living up to expectations and TCU, BSU and Cincy are exceeding expectations....Shhhhh don't let the BCS committee know.

November 11, 2009  12:33 PM ET

PS:
Ala 6-3 v The Spread
Fla. 4-3 v The Spread
UConn 8-1 v The Spread
Pitt 6-2 v The Spread
Shhhhh, that is money talking, not hype.
