Jr will never be great as his following deserves

Jr thou he has never been a suck like Kyle Busch and throw tempertampions is still not as good as driver as you would think he would be with the amount of fans has.
Jr Nation follows blindly weather or not Jr does well because of his Daddy's name.
If not for his father he would be a tick better than Micheal Waltrip who follows on his brothers coat tails.


1st off, I think it is great that us in the Nascar Threads are stepping out and venturing into the world of Throw Downs.
That just shows you how boring it has become with the sport and stories we have had to comment on.

2nd. I like to bash Kyle Busch as much as the next guy, maybe a little more, but lets save that for another time.

3rd. KYLE SUCKS.

Ok, with that out of the way:

I think I would use Fans' Expectations, and not their Deserving rights.
Sponsors DESERVE because they pay tons of money for many things like wins, personalities, exposure, etc.
Fans EXPECT results, and like their drivers for their personalities, and the drivers name, or name sake. I'll admit that JR's performance has been (using another words) "Less then Stellar" and almost pathetic for the past few years. Who hasn't had off years?

I am not one to remember stats, but their are many other drivers out there doing much worse.

"tick better than Micheal Waltrip"?, are you serious? I won't even go there.

His Dads name, Yes, JR has had many breaks by being Dale Earnhardt son, but that didn't get him 2 Nationwide Championships.

Alright my comment about Jr being a tick better than Micky or Mikey might have been a tad to the low side .... alright I was digging under you but Jr has never been in contention for a Championship.
Other than a great filler in the field ......


6 out of 9 full ride years Jr. has finished top 12 the standings.
3 of those years in the top 5.

Math time.

9 years top 12 in the standings leaves 31 drivers as field fillers.
2 years 5th in standings leaves 38 drivers as field fillers.
1 year 3rd in standings leaves 40 field fillers.

past 2 years.
2008 12th in standings =31 field fillers
2009 23rd, with 20 behind him.
JR. A field filler?, I think Not!

Yea, the 88 team sucked this year, no one wants to see the above stats.

Is he or will he ever be as good as his Dad?, No, probably not.
Do his fans expect more? Yes, and I am one of them, but those fans that won't take into consideration that drivers, all drivers have bad seasons, need to sell, trash, give, burn, etc. their drivers gear, and find a new one.

Jr Nation easly ranks up there with Jimmie Johnson's , Jeff Gordon's fans and they have between them 7 and soon to be 8 Championships.
Even Mark Martin at least came in second what twice plus a ton more wins and Jr Nation still probley out numbers those 3 drivers fans.
His fan base does not justafy how good a driver Jr is.
Short of being a rock star that everyone knows his name including anyone outside of NASCAR his success does not equal fan base.
Then again I never understood why in the world Mikey had such a huge following considering he has had even less success than Jr.
I guess some fans will follow blindly.

So what you are saying is that just because you don't want to be a JR. Nation Fan, others who are shouldn't be a fan either?
Like I said, His driving ability (in current years) must not be the only reason he is so popular, his merchandise is #1 in current sales.
