the redskins will have one of the top five defenses in the league with sean taylor and laron landry as safties...pro bowl calliber corner fred smoot is returning to the redskins after a year with the vikings...other corners include shaun springs and second year man carlos rodgers...the offense will be much improved this year as the players have had a year under the complex system of al saunders...running back clinton portis and the rest of the running game will be used to set up the long ball...the redskins are in a weaker nfc...the colts lose many important defensive players such as cato june...and some de.....i think either going 2 the bills or titans....they lose dominic rodes in the backfield and rely on a second year back.....bottom line colts have one of the top offenses but their d brings them down to a mid to low level team this year after a super bowl win the following year...also the colts will have the toughest schedule in the league while the redskins will have one of the easiest in the league...

I dont know how you can say the redskins will, when the colts are the defending super bowl champions and the redskins finished 5-11 (last in the nfc east) and did little to nothing to improve themselves while most people in their division got stronger. The redskins will be lucky to finish at .500, while the colts should win their division being able to play the likes of the texans and titans 4 times a year. Also any team with peyton manning and that offense is going to be able to keep a game close

reallly!!!!! nothing.....they go out and sign a pro bowl caliber corner....london fletcher from the bills and they draft laron landry.....on top of an already amazing d.....adn saying that almost everyone in the nfc east got better....ummmmmmm....what look at the giants.....they loose tiki barber....so now they have no running game...and that puts all the pressure on young eli manning...in new york.....can you say meltdown waiting to happen.....the eagles....cant think of anything they did to get better..the colts just one the super bowl...the stats
dont lie it isnt likely that they
will even make the play offs
next year the colts norowly
beat the titans last year 14-13o n a late comeback

didnt the eagles get takeo spikes? i think so. tikis replacement averaged 4.7 ypc, not bad, and the cowboys have olny gotten better (hopefully romo's hands have 2) since last year. But with Jason campbell as your starting QB, you are several seasons away from any shot to return to the good old days. You say the colts arly beat the titans? but isnt winning close games the mark of a good team? why do they then applaud and dub a QB great when he makes a game winning 2 min drive? its cause it happens to all teams

saying that the redskins have no Qb is an understatement...jason campell is flying under the radar and is one of the up and commings he played only seven games in his entire career....he threw 10 tds and only 6 picks with almost 1300 yards...so saying that the skins dont have a qb is false....the redskins have at least one star reciever in santana moss....previous to last season clinton portis has been work horse....rushing for 1516 yards 1315 and 1591 yards.....so the run game has obviously been effctive

but a qb usually needs about a full season to get going, and as yiu say jason campbell only has 7 games under his belt. And 10td to 6int is not a very good ratio. Your run game is good, but with a poor passing game, an aging D and the rest of the teams in your division getting stronger, I do not see how the Redskins will be able to make the playoffs, let alone go farther than the Colts.

The Redskins don't even have a quarterback that is good. Haha, he picked the Redskins over the Colts, what was he thinking? He has to pull off a good argument and I might vote his way but he has to come up with something big.

the skins can go 8 8 at best dude, u need a QB to win in this league

July 18, 2007  12:00 AM ET

2 Running Backs don't cut it my friend. They need to be able to pass to open up the running game.

July 18, 2007  12:00 AM ET

That is the most audacious statement I have ever heard. Oh and by the way, as a Viking fan, I promise you Fred Smoot is not a transaction to be proud of.

Wow....thats all I can think to say. At first I thought this was a shot at an easy win, then I saw who he chose...Wow.

July 18, 2007  02:03 AM ET

July 18, 2007  02:29 AM ET

Man, where is that Skins fan who said all Eagles fans are Homers? HelloHello you are blind to your team's shortcomings. Smoot and Fletcher are on the backside of their career. Both were great in their prime, but won't do much to cure the porous D-line. Landry and Taylor will be great, I'm sure, but if you put them in the box then you have Smoot and Springs on an island in coverage. If you go the other way and they help in coverage, teams will run all over them. The battle is won in the trenches, and that mon ami is where the Skins are weakest. Campbell might be good some day, but he's under the radar for a reason. The Eagles didn't do anything in FA or draft? Hello McFly!!! Spikes, Reagor, Scott on Defense. Curtis, Hunt, Ialoa, Holcolmb on offense, not to mention the deepest Defensive and Offensive line you'll find in the NFL. Get a better argument please!!!! Also, in Indy's defense, the Tampa 2 does not need superstar LB's or DB's, just guys who can fit the system. The Offense will decimate all with Manning, Addai, Harrison, Wayne, and Gonzalez. You should have compared the Skins to the Browns instead. You still might have lost.

HelloHello is right, the skins are going to the superbowl this season but will lose to my RAIDERS. Ofcourse that was a joke. LOL HAHA LOL HAHA

Aww, Sik Skillz managed to go a whole throwdown without busting out any terrible rap lyrics or listing his top 13 favorite rappers! He's growing up...

The only possible way for the Redskins to beat out the Colts this year is if Mr. Manning goes down in week 1 and then Dan Marino comes out of retirement 15 years younger and signs with the Redskins. Weak!

July 18, 2007  09:08 AM ET

Its throwdowns like this that ruin this site. This is obviously the same person taking both sides. Or is it just luck that they both just happen to be from Indiana? They both don't know how to use capital letters. They both can't spell. Please. Why are you guys even responding to this?
