ROY- Marshawn Lynch
OROY- Anthony Gonzalez
DROY- Patrick Willis
I would take Adrian Peterson as Rookie of the Year..but he has to split carries with chester taylor...Marshawn Lynch doesn't...he'll be the only one running the ball...Marshawn is an all around better RB than Adrian Peterson was...he had the ability to catch the ball and do amazing things with it...he had awesome field vision..better than peterson
I choose Anthony Gonzalez becuase of Peyton Manning. Just like Brandon Stokely did...Anthony will get a good bit of touches..particulary in the red zone...
I chose Patrick Willis becuase of his versatality, speed, and strength...more times than none Patrick will find the ball carrier in the back field...he'll be this years Demeco Ryans...only better

Well, first off, I believe there's only Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year Awards. I may be wrong. But lets go with that.
Offensively, I believe Marshawn Lynch will win the award. As you mentioned, he is a more all around back than Peterson, and won't have to split carries. I also like the way Buffalo beefed up their offensive line this offseason. Did they overpay? Definitely. But teaming Derrick Dockery (6'6", 335 pounds) with Jason Peters (6'4", 340) will give Lynch a formidable left side to run behind.
For defensive Rookie of the Year, I'd say LaRon Landry has the iside track. Landry was arguably the best defensive player in the draft, and pairing him with Sean Taylor won't hurt. Gregg Williams will find ways to best utilize not only his excellent coverage skills, but his superb pass rushing ability. He will rack up stats in that D.

nope.. i believe there is a rookie of the year...and i'll stand by marshawn lynch becuase of his talent...LaRon is a good pick...but when was the last time a rookie defensive back won defensive rookie of the year...you have to take in consideration of the amount of talent at reciever he'll be facing..he won' t get no where near the amount of tackles that willis will becuase willis will get "first dibs" on the ball carrier...Willis is in a conference that likes to run the ball..
Zoolander said 07/19, 10:18 PM
Landry will face moderate talent at receiver, but he has a good supporting cast, including Sean Taylor, Shawn Springs, and Carlos Rogers, so it's not like he'll have to cover the No. 1 receiver all the time. But Landry has more than just cover skills. He is an effective run stopper, who averaged 78 tackles per year in college, 315 total. He is also an effective pass rusher. Willis will probably get more tackles, because linebackers tend to record more than defensive backs. But Landry will gather a decent amount, and also have numerous interceptions and sacks. Even if Willis has more tackles than Landry, Landry will have a greater impact on his team.

well i'm giving this one to you..haha i was on a roll with good arguments to...i love landry and willis...i just feel that willis will be this year's ryans...i see landry doing a lot to help out his defense..just not as much as willis will...

Predicting the performance of players in the offseason sucks. If you pick the favorites, people say that you're looking for an easy win or playing it too safe. If you make a bold prediction or pick a sleeper, people shrugg you off and disagree.

I really dont think theres much of a battle there. Thomas hasn't show he could be the back he was in '01. He was solid last year spelling McGahee, but Lynch will get the start because of potential; he has more upside.

This is all fine and dandy until Lynch breaks a leg in training camp, Gonzalez becomes a bust after all his hype, and Willis gains 300 lbs. All this predicting for rookies is too hard and kinda dumb until atleast preseason or the beginning of the season.
