Parents and coaches have pushed kids to win all cost and play year around. You even hear about 12 year olds talking about college choices.
With a nation paying millions of dollars for athletes; passion has turned into greed. It is one thing to develop and push a kid; but to force him to play year around and drive him; to never let him rest or just enjoy being a kid is wrong. I played from age 5 to college at UGA. I was pushed and driven but a had time to be a kid. When I went to Georgia; i played because I loved the game and having college paid was a benefit from the hard work. It was a choice I made in high school and I appreciated the push as a kid but the way I was pushed kept the passion for the game in my life.
There should be a line and a time for kids to rest and enjoyed time for other sports or just time to be a kid.
