I got the Saints and Eagles
and the Pats and Chargers

Saints and Chargers share the same arguement .. insane offences and both got a sniff of the big show and will be ready to take the next step ..The Pats .. just got way too good and finally gave rec to brady .. when he could still do it without them, the Eagles are my wildcard with alot of potential on both sides of the ball, but a risky pick b/c of there injury troubles.

NFC: Saints, and Rams
AFC: Patriots, and Broncos

NM im sick of waiting for u to finish that one .. NO way the broncos are making it past the like of the patriots and colts who dont choke in the players and have proven QB's and the chargers who are stacked all over and just need to take the next step .. in regards to the rams .. i almost choked while i was laughing .. no way .. no defence .. all glam and no grit .. they wont even finish in the top 2 in the NFC west (Niners and Hawks). Eagles can and will win there div with a healthy roster

Broncos had a great offseason this year. They will have a top 10 defense and offense. And Niners in second??? I don't think so. Rams will do good this year but get beat by the Saints, they have a top 2 RB, and an awesome all around offense, and an improving defense.

Offence doesnt meana championship .. id guess that the majority of the past 10 winning teams where more defensive oriented .. to say the rams will make it anywhere close to the superbowl is some funny stuff .. i could think of 5 other teams with better chance then the rams so i will (Giants, Cowboys, Bears, Panthers and even the niners) and im not saying the broncos are bad but they are not in the elite of a very tough afc with all-pro proven QB's and RB's

I know offense doesn't mean championship, but it sure helps, if the Rams get their defense up to par they will be in the NFC Championship game for sure. Now, the 5 other teams that you listed, only one of them have a great defense(Bears) and the Cowboys is just OK. And the Broncos do have a very much proven RB in Travis Henry, and Jay Cutler only going 2-3 in his 5 games he started last year, but also had a QB Rating of over 90% And the Broncos have a very solid D, which I think will be in the top 5. And probably the best secondary in the league, with Dre' Bly, and Champ Bailey, John Lynch, and they are also looking at Greg Wesley.

AFC Championship Game: Ravens at Patriots
The Patriots are the best team in the NFL. They had two main weaknesses last year. One was the dreadful receiving corps with Reche Caldwell--a #3 receiver on a normal wide receiving corps-- being the #1 guy and Jabar Gaffney--a fringe roster guy--starting opposite him. Teams were stacking eight, even nine in the box to stop Laurence Maroney and Corey Dillon. The offense is so much more explosive now with Maroney getting most of the carries, Randy Moss, and Donte Stallworth. Their main defensive weakness was speed over the middle. With the additions of Brandon Meriweather and Adalius Thomas, the Patriots have the ability to shutdown Anthony Gonzalez, Dallas Clark, they now have the ability to slow down an Antonio Gates. The Patriots are the most complete team in the NFL.

That second spot in the AFC Championship Game is down to three other teams, the Colts, the Chargers, and the Ravens.

The Colts didn't lose very much with the exception of Tarik Glenn. They lost two very slow cornerbacks, and then they lost a guy who missed more tackles than he made in Cato June. I thought that their defense played okay in the playoffs because they played a guy without a gameplan(Herm Edwards), then Steve McNair had a bad game(McNair had open guys all over the place and wasn't under pressure very often), then the Colts needed two bad calls(Ellis Hobbs pass interference and Tully Banta-Cain roughing the passer) to win against the Patriots and they played Rex Grossman at quarterback.

The Chargers are the most talented in the NFL, but they won't be as good as they were last year because they have a brand new coaching staff. It'll take a while for the coaches and the players to fully trust each other and to build chemistry. It's not just Marty, it's Marty, both coordinators, and two more position coaches.

The Ravens had a great year last year and they will not regress. Steve McNair is a year older, but he also has one full year under his belt. Everybody says the loss of Adalius Thomas will knock the Baltimore defense from #1. Adalius Thomas is a really good player, but he was the fifth best player on that defense. Jarrett Johnson has to play decent and Rex Ryan will do some crazy things schematically to make Ravens fans forget about Adalius Thomas.

The Rams suck

July 25, 2007  07:47 PM ET

The Ravens Bah Humbug? What are you smokin? McNair is older than dirt and looked like a rookie playing last year. The Rams D will do them in.

The rams D ??? haha what D

NFC Championship Game: Bears at Cowboys

The Saints won't be in the NFC Championship Game next year because their defense isn't good enough. Last year, the Bears were running the ball straight down the Saints throat and the Saints couldn't do a damn thing about it. I don't think the Saints are a bad team, I think they're a 10-6 team which is really overhyped. They have a very good offense, but if that defense can't stop the run, then they're not going to be any better than 10-6. Don't forget that the Saints had a very easy schedule last year(.461 opponent win percentage).

To me, the NFC is down to the Cowboys, the Bears, and the Eagles.

The Cowboys were a team that didn't blitz much last year and when they did blitz, they weren't able to disguise it. That was their number one problem last year. The Cowboys offense played pretty well after Tony Romo took over. Had the Cowboys defense played like the their offense did, the Cowboys would've went to the Super Bowl last year. With Wade Phillips as head coach, the defense won't be a problem any more and I think that they're defense will be just as good as their defense this year and they'll represent the NFC this year.

The Bears are the second best team in the NFC. They have a top 4 defense(the only top 5 defense in the NFC). Their one problem is Rex Grossman, but I believe that he'll be benched by midseason and that problem will be fixed. Brian Griese is a quarterback who won't set the world on fire, but he won't make stupid decisions and he won't lose games for you. He's the kind of quarterback the Bears need. I think that the Bears will get the #2 seed in the NFC.

The Eagles are also a team that'll be fighting for the NFC Championship. They're a very good football team and if Broderick Bunkley develops like he's supposed to, their run defense should be much better. It'll also be better because they've added some good linebackers who will immediately improve their run defense. Also, their offense should be much more balanced and that'll help increase their offensive production. I think they'll have the #5 seed in the NFC because the Cowboys are in their division.

July 25, 2007  08:08 PM ET

For the Cowboys, I meant that their defense will be just as good as their offense this year.

July 25, 2007  08:21 PM ET

Don't forget that the Ravens also added Willis McGahee. He's not a great back, but he's a good back who's a thousand times better than Jamal Lewis. They also got much younger at the offensive line, which is huge. They also a added a dynamic return man in Yamon Figurs.

July 25, 2007  09:21 PM ET

why does everyone think the saints are better than the bears? who actually made it to the Super Bowl last year?

July 25, 2007  09:37 PM ET

rams will better than u think

July 25, 2007  10:03 PM ET

I'm sick of people slurping the Pats. It'll be practically impossible for them to miss the playoffs, but I don't see them making another AFC championship. I'll still take Manning and the Colts over anyone in the AFC. The Chargers are the only competition they have.

Patriots-Chargers
Saints-Eagles

July 25, 2007  10:58 PM ET

Talk Saints, Bears, Cowboys and Eagles all you want in the NFC........in the meantime, the 2005 NFC Champs will quietly be a force to be reckoned with when it's all said and done, now that their top 2 offensive weapons are healthy again.

July 26, 2007  08:46 AM ET

if Denver faces NE in the Playoffs that would do it for the Pats, Denver owns them. And the Chargers haven't won a playoff game since the early 90's so lets stop slurping that team.

The Broncos lost to the Chargers twice last year yet BSchwartz07 and marcusmd continue to tell anyone who will listen that their team, the Donks, is the favorite in the AFC West. The Chargers outscored the Donks 83-47 in sweeping the Donks last year. In fact, in TWO games the Donks couldn't match what the Chargers offense scored in ONE game against the Donks yet we are supposed to believeTeam Homers when they tell us that the Donks are the team to beat in the AFC West because, well, they say so. It is the 2006 AFC West Champions that the Donks have to dethrone in order to make their predictions of supremacy come true. In fact, the experts say just the opposite is likely to happen. No, I am not talking about the talking heads on your favorite Dot Com site. The professional bookies who set the Vegas lines, Las Vegas Sports Consultants, have the Chargers 4-1 favorites to win the AFC, second after the Patriots (5-2) (and tied w. the Colts), and the Donks at 14-1 to win the AFC which is good for eighth in the AFC. Now I know Team Homers are going to profess they know more about the NFL than the guys whom casino's entrust w. setting the betting lines each week but please do everybody who frequents FanNation a favor and keep your biased homer comments on the Donks message board where they belong. Nobody around here is buying what you are selling. Not even Dennis "You can crown their ****" Green.
