It's hard to decide which was the best of the four Steelers teams that won Super Bowls in the 1970s, but we'll take the '79 edition, when Pittsburgh's offense was most potent and the defense was still going strong.
The Steelers were the NFL's best offensive team in 1979: Terry Bradshaw threw for 3,724 yards and 26 TDs, Franco Harris averaged 4.4 yards per carry on his way to 1,186 yards on the ground, and Rocky Bleier and Sidney Thornton combined for 1,019 yards. And Lynn Swann and John Stallworth were formidable threats at WR. The Steelers went 12-4 during the regular season and beat the Rams 31-19 in the Super Bowl.

That team was 28 years ago not less than 25!!! You even made this up and messed up!! While I'm takin the 04 Patriots!! They had a dominant D in Brusci, Seymor, Law, and McGinest!! With one of the most clutch kickers in the history of the NFL in Vinatieri and Tom Brady who by the end of his career will likely become a top 10-15 QB ever!! Their RB (Cory Dillan) had 1,635 rushing yards (3rd in the league) that season and averaged 4.7 rpg!!! The dominating O-Line was unstopable lead by Joe Andruzzi, Matt Light , Steve Neal. As a team I think the patriots are better then the pats.

Wow marcus, how did you mess that up? You need to be clearer with yourself before you form your argument.

Those 2 teams along with the 92 Cowboys are considered by almost every expert to be 3 of the 5 best teams to ever take the field. The other 2 of the top 5 being the 72 Dolphins that went undefeated and the 78 Steelers. The 04 Pats were no where even close to as good as any of the 5 teams I listed....

The 04 Pats weren't the best by far- but at least denis satisfied the conditions.
