I say 300 wins bc your win depends on your ability and the ability of your teammates. and the decision the coach makes. you dont get but at least 25 start a yr.

I'm sorry, but this is a "duh" throwdown.

Glavine is probably going to be the last pitcher to win 300 games. At least anytime soon. Look at how many people have hit 500 home-runs, and are poised to hit 500 home-runs.

To win 300 games, you have to average 15 wins per season for 20 straight years. With a 5-man rotation and pitcher's getting less than 40 starts per season, it is going to be very hard to win 300 games in the future unless the pitching drastically changes again.

500 home-runs may not be *easy* but at the same time, it IS far easier.

Actually, this is very arguable, there are pretty much the same amount of people in the 500 HR club as there are in the 300 win club.

Cody, you shouldn't have accepted it if you weren't going to argue. You are trying to get an easy win by saying the other guy was trying to get an easy win. Vote to OrangeBlood.

Although the "more important to team" part is pretty unarguable.

August 1, 2007  07:22 PM ET

OK...well, wins have a lot to do with how many runs your team scores...Pettite had two years where his ERA was over 4.00 and he won 19 and 21 games with that ERA...being able to keep your team in the game is much more important, but the wins stat for a pitcher is ridiculous...500 homers is easier to get to...or at least will be now, because of 5 man rotations...and pitchers in the majors having no business being in the majors, and the mound being shorter...etc.

but the answer is neither, since 300 win SPs and 500 home run hitters will never play for the same team for their whole career ever again...

The only thing "duh" about this throwdown is why Cody accepted it.

I was thinking the same thing

I don't really care about my record.. or I would be one of those people accepting radernation's throwdowns for easy wins. I felt this was pretty obvious.

My mistake.

August 1, 2007  08:27 PM ET

Don't accept if you wont argue. I hate when people do that. What advantage is it to you if you call some1 out on it? A cheap win maybe. I'd rather earn mine.
hey if you hate when people accept TDs and make retarded arguments, agree w/ you, or accept only to say its a "duh" TD than join the Stupid Throwdown Boycotters. we are a group, that if we see a TD that we could accept and point out its obvious, we wont do it b/c of intergity and stuff.

p.s. this was easily arguable

bet you wish you didnt accept it now

August 1, 2007  08:32 PM ET

Guys, I'm sorry. I'm new to this site. I joined last week. As I said, I don't care about my record. I never will. I'm not someone who will make fake accounts to vote for myself. You can make a really good argument and still loose.

Again, my mistake. I will forfeit, as I'm sorry I put Orange through this. If you look at my other throwdowns, I haven't done this. I make quality arguments. I'm sorry for my mistake.

Won't happen again. Really.
