This one should be a no-brainer, but I know someone will argue with another conference. The SEC always has most of the teams ranked and in a bowl game (minus Ole Miss, Miss St., & Vandy). Heck, last year Florida had 1 loss to Auburn, won the SEC, then beat the crap out the Heisman winner's undefeated team. I remember hearing a FLA player (I can't remember who it was) say that there were FIVE SEC teams better than Ohio St, and tht player was right. If you are in the SEC & you lose only two conference games, you CAN FORGET about playing in Atlanta come December.
JT izzle said 08/02, 11:34 AM
your right the sec is the strongest but you want me to say Big 12 so i will argue.
There are always 2-3 NT possible teams in the Big 12. Texas OU Neb. And A&M OKst Mizzou are coming around as sleepers to start up trouble. If you lose one game in the Big 12 you are done. The big 12 has strength in Texas, OU, Neb, A&M, OKst is getting good, Mizzou is coming around.
Sec-Fla, LSU, Tenn sometimes, AU,
Arkansas, Ga are down hill this yr.
JDawg1447(Knowshon=Heisman) said 08/02, 11:54 AM
Well, Let's look at some of the non-conference games the big 12 members play this year: illinois St, Northwestern St, Sam Houston St, Montana St, and SE Louisiana. I always wonder why people rank Texas & Oklahoma so high in the polls when most of the time they have a Div II schedule. The SEC plays Oklahoma St, West Virginia, Missouri, and Cal in non-conference games, and they r probably favored in everyone except West Virgina(Miss. State playes them) better opponents=better teams=better conference
JT izzle said 08/02, 12:02 PM
TCU, Miami, USC, Wake Forest, Auburn,ASU, Iowa, and Georgia are all non conference teams . YOU missed a few. USC is #1, GA and AUburn are from the SEC, Wake won the ACC, TCU won the MW last yr. Miami and Iowa can be good.
YOU are RIGHT better opponents=Better Teams=better confer ence
at least 5 of the 8 teams i named are ranked so the big 12 has a harder non conf.
JDawg1447(Knowshon=Heisman) said 08/02, 12:16 PM
TCU DOESN'T STAND A CHANCE. That's like saying your schedule is hard because you play Troy and they won the Sun Belt last year. Anyway the non-conference doesn't matter a whole lot when u r talking about good conferences. Four out of the six teams in the SEC West could go the SEC Championship game(Auburn,LSU,Arkansas,Alabama) and Four out of the six teams in the SEC East could go to the SEC Championship game(Tenn, UGA, FLA, USC). The Big 12 Championship game will be Oklahoma or Texas vs. Nebraska
JT izzle said 08/02, 12:21 PM
3 of the six in the north could go to the Big 12 champ. 3of six in south could go to the Big 12 champ. how can you say non conf doesnt matter when u brought it up. USC and the sec teams i named arent pushovers. TCU can handle many teams we say are STRONG. The big 12 has one of the harest schedules this yr. we will see what they really have and i sure we will be impressed

Big 12 sucks one of worst in the nation but props to you for taking what is i think the unpopular pick. and i'm tired of SEC whining when their team gets left out. thats why i was glad florida made it in2 the championship. who reallly wants to hear another SEC team bitchin that they didnt get it? personally, i think the most underrated is the best. the pac-10 had the highest pct. of teams over .500. its an east coast bias

longshore is a good qb in pac 10 play, but when he had 2lbs and 2des who run 44.4-4.65 40's in the backfield every play he didnt look so good, wonder how hes going to fair this yr with mayo and mccoy up his butt?

Pac 10 LBs slower than your DTs, you must not have been watching USC, Ariz, UCLA, or Cal. Argue all you want now, bowl time normally sorts things out, and last year the SEC went 1-2 against the Big 10 in bowl matchups head-to-head. Do you want to argue the elite vs elite, or depth top to bottom of each conference, how do argue the better conference? Elite vs elite, USC leads the pack, with Steele's Rankings have 2 Big 10, 2 Big 12, 2 ACC, and 2 Big East schools in the Top 10 compared to 1 each for the SEC and the Pac 10. Depth from top to bottom, OK, maybe the SEC has an argument with 7-8 bowl eligible teams. Will see how it turns out now, won't we.
And if you want to diss schedules, which conference has their teams match-up with S. Carolina St., Western Carolina, Northwestern St., Gardner-Webb, Tennessee Tech, and Chattanooga as its non-conference opponents.

i think the coaches in the pac 10 have a collective bargaining agreement not to play defense so that they can out recruit the rest of the country on offense, like that lynch boy is going to get his balls handed back to him in the nfl, hell start 3 games and be off an nfl roster by end of next season, i hope he took advantage of his education opportunity

SEC offenses seemed to be horrendous this past season. Seems like no matter how good or bad SEC fans believe their conference is always tops.
