Based on rushing and receiving statistics you HAVE to go with Mike Alstott of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Over the course of his eleven year career he has been to the Pro Bowl 6 times (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002). His career rushing total is 1,359 carries for 5,088 rushing yards (3.7 YPCA) and 58 TDs. Astounding for a fullback, but to delve deeper he has been a in the seasons top ten in rushing TDS in 1998 with eight and 2001 with 4. Also in 2001 he was in the top ten for combined Rush/Receive TDs with 7. His career high in rushing yards is 949 on 242 carries (7 TDs) in 1999. He is a consistent 3rd down back as well as in goal line situations. He has the speed to run as well as stay out in front when blocking for the running back, which is something is he quite good at. He has continually blocked well for the running backs he has guarded from Errict Rhett, Warrick Dunn to Michael Pittman and Carnell ???Cadillac??? Williams. Alstott was his teams leading receiver with 557 yards on 65 catches in his rookie year (1996) for 3 TDs. Two years (???01 and ???99) he led the Bucs in rushing stats. Better than Neal who is almost never used in the rushing game.

the reason alsott went to the probowl so many times is because of his reputation and running ability, not for his ability at being a blocking back, which is what a fullback really does. he has blocked for correy dillon,LT,eddie george, warrick dunn and more. In 1998 both mike and larenzo were on the same team and larenzo was the starter throughout the season.
larenzo does not need to run in the game because of his extrodinary skill at blocking, which is what a FB really does.

First, Alstott was the starter in 1998 as I discussed in the comments section. You also just contradicted yourself with your argument. If Neal was so good then he could turn crappy backs (Adrian Murrell) into 1,000 yard rushers not Eddie George, Corey Dillon, and Tomlinson into 1,000 yard rushers. They can do that by themselves especially considering the offensive lines that both Tennessee and San Diego had while he was playing there. He played with the Titans during their playoff runs and SB run. Corey Dillon might be the only person he TRULY helped for his two years there because of the terrible passing attack in Cincy as well as the less than stellar offensive line play. You also must look at the people that Alstott has played with. Errict Rhett had two 1,000 yards season, both he barely made it over 1,000. He blocked for Dunn, who recorded two 1,000 yard seasons in his five years in Tampa. He is currently blocking for Williams who had a 1,000 yard season his rookie year, but fell off a bit because of injuries in his second year. Another thing is that Alstott doesn???t block for many 1,000 yard rushers because he, himself, is a big time rusher in the Tamp offense.

alstott's running game suffered last year and in the nfl the fullback position has a lot to do with that

The fullback position is an offensive position. Alstott is not only a pretty good blocker, but also a HORSE in the running game. They use him more than their RB, but since Cadillac was drafted his numbers have dipped a bit...anyway...I gotta finish my argument...

Do you even know what cog means Eagle Hater? It is a zone-blocking scheme with the Center and one of the Guards. When did Alstott play either of those positions?
As for Dunne, you made the absolute worst argument I have ever seen. That was just awful.

It should have been an easy win for you too. But why did you even waste your time with that argument?

Awesome!
Tank, Alstott has been a KEY cog in Tampa since he was drafted. Leading receiving his rookie year and leading rusher two of seasons and above 500 yards just about every other year of his career. He had 10 TDs (career high) in 2001.

A cog is also a player that plays a roll in an organization Frank, I think that is what he meant.

I have never heard that use of the term cog, but the use by coaches is the one that I said.

Frank is just making horrible attempts to make somebody else sound bad when he is only doing to himself. How some things backfire, huh Frankie?

Has Alstott blocked for a 1000 yard rusher the last, oh, iunno, 6 or 7 seasons?
I think not.
A Fullback's job is moreso to do with blocking. A fullback does not have to be a good runner. That's what you have another runningback for.
