Nice list, Big Ben. First off, I like some of your choices. Ones I would've made if I'd taken different players. But let's go through this, pos. by pos. (BTW, you have 12 offensive players).

QB-I win here, you still took a top 5 QB though, but Brees has nothing on Peyton.
RB-I win here, but it was still somewhat close, but LT beats out LJ.
WR-You win.
TE-You win, but it's close.
T: I win, not even close. No one can hold up to Jonathan Ogden and Walter Jones.
G: Same, Hutchinson and Allen are two of the greatest playing.
C: You win.
DE: I win (Kevin Williams is a DT, btw).
DT: You win.
LB: I win, Thomas Davis holds you back.
CB: Very close. Clements gets more tackles, but Mathis gets more INT and PD.
FS: You win by a bit, Ed Reed does beat out Polamalu.
SS: I win, both became starters the same year, but Hope (not including his backup years) has more tackles and INT.

K: I win, Lindell has a better career FLD% and XP% (Lindell has never missed an extra point).
P: I win, Zastudil has a better career average, and Feagles hasn't been punting well lately (last year, he had the lowest average in the league).

Coach: I win, Bill Belichick took over a worse team, but made it a dynasty.

I'll give you QB and RB, but I win on FB (I actually have one) and WR as well as TE as you have already said. Tackle I'll say you have ONLY because of Jones. Ogden is still dominate, but age is beginning to catch him and he won't be that dominant for much longer. Same thing with the guards: Hutchinson gives the win because Allen is aging and declining, but still dominant enough to give you the slight edge. At center, my guy owns you. At defensive end I have, quite possibly, the two most versatile lineman in the game: Richard Seymour and Kevin Williams (he played defensive end his first two years in the league racking up 23 sacks (11.5 both years). Seymour and Williams are DOMINANT against the run and cause havoc, especially Williams, when rushing the QB. So I would say I WIN that category as well. At defensive tackle I have the multi-talented Tommie Harris who can, like Williams, rush the QB with ease and blow up RBs in the running game. I do not see how you win at linebacker when I have a speedy LB in Davis who can rush the passer with GREAT efficiency as well as excel in pass coverage because of that speed. He also has the strength to play the run. I give the edge to me.

OK, you don't win on FB (or KR), because I set up a team the way I wanted, just because you changed it doesn't mean I should be penalized for it. I'm not taking points from you because you have 12 offensive players.

Seymour and Williams are pretty good, but better than Peppers and Taylor? It's not a contest, these guys are incredibly fast, strong and versatile, both could play LB if their teams needed, yet they can still break through linemen.

You have Davis, I have Ware, who is a much better pass rusher. Both have played for two years---Davis has 130 tackles and 3 sacks in 30 games, Ware has 131 tackles and 19.5 SACKS in 32 games. Ware is much, much better, I'm sorry.

Williams is EASILY as fast as Peppers and MUCH stronger than him as well. Seymour absolutely dominates opposing lineman physically and still has decent speed to get TO the QB. Here???s the thing about Davis and Ware. Thomas Davis plays in a 4-3 and plays both strong-side linebacker as well as middle linebacker meaning he WON???T get as many sacks as compared to a guy (Ware) that plays in a 3-4 on the outside where he is specialized as a pass rusher. Being in a 3-4 on the outside gives you more leeway as well as ease when rushing. The 3-4 zone blitz (as Dallas has been and WILL be playing) is conducive to blitzing from the outside linebackers compared to the 4-3 zone defense the Panthers play which is more conducive in tackles, passes deflected, and interceptions. Ware is possibly a small amount better and so I can say it would be a push when it comes to ALL the linebackers. I still say for me to have come up with just as good a team while only repeating five players (Bailey, Brooks, Johnson, Jackson, and Sapp). I say this would be a HELL of a game if these teams were assembled (and we had carbon copies of those five players). This game could go either way.

This will be interesting.

August 5, 2007  11:36 PM ET

It will...um, can we have repeat players? Like I want Chad for my second wideout, is that okay?

August 5, 2007  11:37 PM ET

Oh yeah, sure, just try to get a bit diverse. I left a lot of room for adjustment.

August 5, 2007  11:37 PM ET

Like, you can have Peyton Manning if you want.

August 5, 2007  11:38 PM ET

No, I'm not taking Manning...you'll see...mine will be a bit different in some areas and somewhat the same (Bailey, Johnson).

August 5, 2007  11:41 PM ET

Oh, can I use two players from one team? I mean since we are only filling about 26 positions...

August 5, 2007  11:43 PM ET

I would love to do a TD like this...

August 5, 2007  11:44 PM ET

No, the point of this is to only use one player from each team (like, you couldn't have both Tomlinson AND Merriman, you'd have to choose one or the other).

So when you're done, there should be 25 teams with one player on your team, and 7 teams with no players taken.

August 5, 2007  11:45 PM ET

Ben, you didnt read the topic title?

August 5, 2007  11:46 PM ET

I did, but I just wanted to make sure...

August 5, 2007  11:47 PM ET

Lets see that list, interesting TD...

August 5, 2007  11:47 PM ET

Mac, after this one, I'd be happy to do one that you start.

August 5, 2007  11:48 PM ET

This is tough...man...

August 5, 2007  11:49 PM ET

Yeah, took me over half an hour to make it right (no statistical websites seem to differentiate between SS and FS, as well as OLB and MLB).

August 5, 2007  11:50 PM ET

Yankeeslifer...Tonight or another day?

August 5, 2007  11:51 PM ET

Tomorrow, I've gotta go in about 10 minutes.

August 5, 2007  11:51 PM ET

Jeez, I'm about half way through mine in fifteen minutes...sheesh...alotta work for this TD.

August 5, 2007  11:51 PM ET

You can set up your list tonight, though, and just give me a warning tomorrow before you challenge me.

August 5, 2007  11:51 PM ET

Sorry, that was to Mac.

August 5, 2007  11:53 PM ET

Well, I have to work tommorow, so I might not end up starting it until past 10pm, so I'll give you a heads up on whether Im doing it or not.
