Here are the rules: You get a head coach, offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, and general manager.
Head Coach - must be the head coach of the team
Offensive Coordinator - must be an offensive assistant (exception: Cam Cameron is both HC and OC, so he can be used as either)
Defensive Coordinator - must be a defensive assistant
General Manager - any team executive in charge of personnel decisions (sometimes owner, sometimes president, sometimes simply GM)
Here are my picks - from the AFC North:
Head Coach - Brian Billick
Offensive Coordinator - Chuck Bresnahan
Defensive Coordinator - Dick LeBeau
General Manager - Phil Savage

This should be a good one, nice idea. Of course you went with the easy choice, the fan favorite the AFC North. It's so easy to defend Billy boy isn't it. However I am going to go with the NFC EAST
Head Coach (As much as I hate to say it) Andy Reid
OC Al Saunders (forget last season he has had the number one offense in the league in 5 out of his last 6 years i think)
DC Jim Johnson (boy Greg Williams was close but his team last season was terrible)
GM Heckert
I have a feeling I won't win but it is worth a good fight.
Dan TM is Stupendous Man said 08/06, 03:21 PM
I thought about picking the East, they were definitely my second choice. You've got me at OC, I agree that this past season should be overlooked for Saunders. But I'd take Billick over Reid - both are great coaches, but one has a ring and the other doesn't. I also love that Billick realized something he wasn't doing wasn't working and resolved to change his coaching style. It paid off to the tune of a 13-3 record last season. How many coaches are willing to admit the need for change like that? At defensive coordinator, I have one of the best of all time - Mr. 3-4 himself, Dick LeBeau. Johnson's put together some great teams, but you can't compete with LeBeau. And Phil Savage, though times have been rough in Cleveland, was the man responsible for drafting Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Jonathan Ogden, Chris McAlister, Jamal Lewis, Peter Boulware, Adalius Thomas, Todd Heap, Terrell Suggs, and Jermaine Lewis in Baltimore. Also the way he handled this draft was nothing short of brilliant. Heckert doesn't actually do much - Andy Reid makes most of the personnel decisions.
B0mb3rs (HoF) said 08/06, 03:29 PM
Heckert is still the GM. Since Heckert arrived five years ago, the Eagles have acquired 16 players who started in 2005 (nine through the draft, six free agents, and one via waivers). Heckert's first draft with the Eagles produced three future Pro Bowlers in cornerback Lito Sheppard, strong safety Michael Lewis, and running back Brian Westbrook. Not bad. Now DC's (next arg) as no one in the East could actually be considered a better HC then Billy boy recently.

Jim Johnson is a great coordinator, probably top 5 with LeBeau, Monte Kiffin, and the two Ryan boys. But LeBeau is better. The 3-4 defense was largely dead, but LeBeau pioneered its resurgence by making the Steelers into a powerhouse. And before you give Cowher all the credit for that, here's a stat for you. Cowher and the Steelers with LeBeau as coordinator - 87-41 (.680), 7 playoff apperances in 8 years, 1 Super Bowl win, two AFC championships. Without LeBeau - 62-50 (.554), 3 playoff appearances in 7 years, 0 Super Bowl appearances. They could run his system and win without him, but not with the kind of consistency LeBeau gave them. And the only time they've missed the playoffs under LeBeau was this past season, and it's hard for a defense to win games when their QB throws 23 interceptions. Now several teams in the league are copying LeBeau, and even the blitz-heavy 4-3s used by Johnson and Gregg Williams are inspired by LeBeau's schemes. LeBeau should someday be a Hall of Fame candidate for the way he changed the game, Johnson is just a d*mn good coordinator.

The only knock I have against your guy is he is a real crappy head coach going 12-33-0 that's not good at all. Does it apply to his stats as a DC no, but I thought i would brign it up anyways. Since Johnson has been in Philly they have had the third best record in the NFL over that time frame. Not bad. He has added his own flare to the 4-3 by adding varying exotic blitz packages, in fact I would say Williams and Johnson surpass LeBeau in this area. LeBeau may be the OG, but Johnson took the ball and ran with it. HARD

Report Offensive CommentAndy Reid? I know Gibbs' game has been off since his comeback, but he's one of the NFL's best offensive minds.

Report Offensive Commenttrust me I would ahve but everyone would only look at recently, and recently he has only gotten them to the playoffs once, while i think he might be one of the best leaders around the game, he has to prove he can win a SB in the modern era to be considered back again. If he does he may be the best coach the NFL ahs ever seen.

Report Offensive CommentIf he did win the SB again I think D.C. would explode. He's already attained god status in Washington too.
That said, I don't see that happening any time soon.

Report Offensive CommentI meant to add the rule that you could only pick one staff member from each team in a division, but forgot to actually say it. I'm just glad you didn't take Belichick and Pioli or Dungy and Polian.

Report Offensive Commentare you kidding me it would explode, and he would clearly be the greatest ever, winning in 4 different decades with all kinds of different palyers (pre strike) post strike during strike etc

HC - Lovie Smith - Bears
OC - Mike Martz - Lions
DC - Bob Babich - Bears (Been working under Lovie and his system for years.)
GM - Jerry Angelo (Done a great job locking up Bears players and coaches in long term deals.)

Report Offensive CommentHmmm. This is tough. I think I'm going to have to go with Dan. I've seen the AFC North work, and my, they are some of the best coached teams I've seen.
