The Pittsburgh Steelers will be better than the NO Saints

Just look what the Steelers did in the HOF game. Their offense will be more effective this year with Big Ben coming back to his old form and the Saint were just a cinderella team last year.

Better must mean record wise.

That is a link for the Saints 2007 schedule. It is easy as pie. The Saints offense will once again be electrifying. The defense was very good in many categories last season, they just need to improve slightly to become a Top 15 unit. They added Jason David at CB, thats much better than Fred Thomas. The Saints have a schedule that allows them to get at least 10-12 wins. The Steelers, not so much. Although having Benhealthy is huge, they are still in the AFC, and the AFC North for that matter. The HOF game meant nothing, pre-season means nothing. The Steelers will not reach 10-12 wins like the Saints will, thus the Saints will be better than the Steelers.

The Saints were simply the Cinderella team last season people didnt know what to expect from Bush and Drew Brees had something to prove after just being traded. This season NO def isnt good enough to carry them, their offense is good but people know what to expect now, Bush is capable of big yards and they really have two WR one who is a standout in Colston and the second who is alright in Henderson. Brees always wants to go for that SB but he had a magnificent year last year and i wouldnt think he could be capable of the same this year,

People know what to expect? That argument is used every single time someone tries to break down the Saints. Frankly, there arent enough stifling defenses in the NFC to consistently stop the Saints. The Saints only play 5 games vs opponents that had a Top 15 defense in 2006. There are NO signs of the Saints offense slowing down. The Saints defense was ranked 11th in the NFL and 13th in the NFL in points allowed. The only real hole the Saints had on defense was the pass defense. They added Jason David who has some starting experience when he was in Indy. Pass defense could improve.

As far as Pittsburgh...They are going to be relying on a young WR in Santonio Holmes along side an aging Hines Ward. The last time the Steelers had a 10+ win season was in 2004, and that was a year in which they had Plaxico Burress at WR, Jerome Bettis in the backfield, and guys like Kendrell Bell and Joey Porter on D. I dont see a 10+ win season for the Steelers like what the Saints will get. As far as the playoffs go, the Saints will have a much easier route through the playoffs, and I dont see Pittsburgh getting by teams like Den, SD, NE, or Indy. So overall, the Saints will have a better year.

Oh boy...Hey Mephis, I hope you didn't plan on winning this. People HATE the Steelers on this site.

Good for you...what are you included in, Pats?

(and I haven't voted yet, that 2-0 has nothing to do with me)

I haven't voted yet but it won't take much for me to vote for sox4life. It's PRE-SEASON. Emphasis on 'pre', these games don't mean next to anything. A preseason is not measured on wins and losses.

Report Offensive Comment

Preseason means nothing. Two years ago, the Colts went 0-5 in the preseason, and they won 14 games. Last year, they were 1-3, and they won the Super Bowl.

I have created a group for those who want to pick games. Unlike uofmrules group, there will be head-to-head matchups, 14 regular season matchups, 3 playoff weeks including a superbowl. To apply send me your Throwdown record and why you should be a member. Also include whether or not you will be able to keep up throughout the whole season because I don't want people who will bag out at the end of the season. Go here to check it out: http://www.fannation.com/groups/show/12944

Preseason games matter a little bit. You want to see how the first-stringers play against the other teams first-stringers.

The Saints were an enigma last year. No one knew what to expect from Brees, Bush/McCallister duo, etc. No teams have 16 games of film on these guys and no way do the Saints have a better season than Pittsburgh.
