Darius Walker should have stayed with Notre Dame for another year

Darius Walker made a stupid move by entering the draft this year. He should have waited another year and taken his game to the next level. His stock would have been higher. Especially due to the fact that a new, young QB will be taking Quinn's place, he would have had more touches, and been thrown to much more often. Weis also said he is going to put his main emphasis on the running game. I think if Walker would have stayed in, he could have spent another season polishing his game, accumulating better stats, and showing that he can carry a work load. Just as he did against a fast LSU defense. Although he didn't score any TD's, he showed that he can bust out hard yards and get it done. He averaged 5.8 ypc against LSU. With another year, I think he could have worked on his speed, developed his game, and he would have been able to show scouts his real running ability. Instead, he goes undrafted. Stupid decision.

I disagree. I think he would have seen less touches because of having James Aldridge and Travis Thomas on the roster as well. Not to mention new recruits Allen and Hughes. Both expected to get touches early. Unfortunately he was in a bad spot at a worst time.

Aldrige is a pounder, like a quicker Tony Hunt. If Walker hadn't left, Thomas would have stayed at his position, he only asked to be switched because it was a toss up once walker was out. He was the best dual threat option. Not to mention he's a decent east to west and caught the ball just as good as the receivers out of the backfield. He would have handled the boatload his senior year, with Aldridge seeing goal line and short yardage. With a run friendly offense he would have showed a lot more

Charlie Weis comes from a coaching background where if he can use 5 people to do the job of one, he will. He likes being able to have versatile players and quick substitutions. If Walker stayed there is no doubt he would have been the started, but his numbers would have remained the same if not drop off a little.

I'm going to have to use this because I accidently used my third comment.
Where does Weis come from that he would use 5 people to do the job of one? Weis is a one dimensional genius. Even though Aldridge was having injury problems he was healthy enough to play, and was a PERFECT change of pace player for Walker. However, when did he see time? At the end of games when they were up. Walker would have hands down been the leader of the team along with Zeb, and would have been counted on for offense. New receivers would mean he would come out of the backfield more. He would have had more oppurtunities to show doubting scouts that his versatility and running ability is underestimated. He definitely would have had more touches, or the majority, and would have had much more receiving yards. Hands down he would have at least been drafted in the 5-7th round if he stayed for one more year.

Thank you! C'mon...keep voting...this is BS. There's no way that Walker would have gone undrafted if he stayed another year. Somebody would have picked him up. Forget the new comers, Charlie Weis isn't going to start Hughes and Allen, especially with a tandem like Aldridge and Walker. To say that he wouldn't have done as well is ludacris. 22 to 20? C'mon. He would have been the featured back, especially if the focus is on the running game, and there's a new passer. Think about the LT effect. His two best seasons came when Brees was new and Rivers was new. Uncomfortable passer mean more running, and if Clausen starts, Weis is going to want to take some heat off of him his first season. Walker is the best back to do that, east to west, can get it done north and south like he did vs. LSU, and if he would have stayed, he would have been the best receiver on the team. Hands down he would have gone in the draft if he waited until next year!
