Coach K is the right man for USA Basketball?

I think he is. He's done a great job handling lots of talent at Duke, and has won consistently their. All of the talented NBA players will buy in to his system, and dominate once again.

Just in case you were under rock for the past olympic games.....we got our arse handed to us. The last thing the USA did was dominate


I should have clarified that statement. I meant dominate once again, like they did in the early 90's. I am well aware how poorly they did at the last olympics.

Please tell me what Coach K can do, that Larry Brown ans Pop cant. This all- star roster got beat by Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is no bigger then West Virginia. Yet they had more talent in that little island then we do in all of America. Maybe they didnt have more talent. Maybe they just wanted to win more. Most of the guys on the 2004 USA team, are on this new team. Carmelo, Duncan, LeBron, AI......So let me get this right. YOu think that Coach K is a better coach then Poppovich and Brown combined


I think it's the fact that Coach K has some actual outside shooters on this team, that will be to his benefit. Michael Redd and Mike Miller are two very good perimeter shooters. Coach K is going to have greater success because he has two players who can break zones, Larry Brown didn't have an legitimate outside shooters, so international teams were able to play zone against the U.S. team. NBA teams dont play zone very much so Pop and Larry Brown werent used to seeing that, Coach K is used to that.


You dont think that Brown and Pop can pick a roster?? Dont get me wrong. I hope that we get back to dream team form, but Coach K isnt the answer. They need to assemble a team of NBA stars that WANT to beat the crap out of the rest of the world on the basketball court. MJ and Bird didnt care who scored as long as the final score was 100-70. Magic didnt complain about playing time when stockton was on the court. Those guys wanted to win more then anything for this country. Those guys just want a gold medal

looking at last olympics i say no. A coach given that amount of talent should be able to win. Its that simple. It wasnt the big names egos or lack of motivation that got them bronze. It was the inability to execute the system. they got destroyed by the pick in roll and relied too much on outside shooting. that is the coaches fault in my mind. Hes got more talent than whole continents yet couldnt win. get someone else. and **** duke.
