So we are looking at King Mo, Koscheck and Askren vs Hendo, Jake and Randy?

I am Stunned you didn't throw Lindlands carcass in there.

I'll shoot at Hendo first.

Hendo is more of a standup fighter. now more than ever. Hendo has never been one to dump someone on his head- preferring to stand and use that power right hand.

Lets look at his last 2 fights- The only shot he took at Bisping was denied, and spent the entire fight on his feet despite being "considered" a top level wrestler.

Next fight, he gets got dumped REPEATEDLY on his back by Jake, and could do next to nothing. I don't have Jake on my list- he would have been top 7 no doubt, but Hendo has shown next to NOTHING since Pride at wrestling ability.

Heck, I would take Rashad over him and could come up with 10 others right now.

Hendo, in his prime was a great wrestler, but I wonder just how much of his abilty is remaining though disuse in the cage

Jake answered that question. I think King Mo can dump him on his head much like did Mousasi over and over again, and I think, considering how much BIGGER Hendo was than Jake- he would have NO chance to sweep da King.

Hendo is nothing what he was used to be everyone knows that but he was always known as a great wrestler. He wrestled for USA and in Olympics. He did have a great wrestling ability back in Pride. He still has good wrestling not great though. He has total confidence in his hands that he doesn't use wrestling. Maybe he should have you wrestling v Jake.



You bring up Jake Shields v Dan Henderson. It goes to show that Jake is a very very good wrestler. He put Hendo on his back so many times it was like watching instant replay. Jake is a beast of a wrestler. He has great technique and keeps you down when he takes you down. He is poor man's version of GSP.

I'll touch on Askren.

He has fought in Bellator but he is somewhat unproven. My pick: Randy, Jake, and Hendo are much much more proven then Askren. Randy is one of the best Greco wrestlers of all time. Dan has solid wresting and Jake is like GSP.

Unproven?

Yet you have Hendo- who last took a guy down in 1834.

The topic given was RIGHT NOW - reason why I do NOT have Linland, Couture, Matt Hughes or Hendo.

I take Koscheck because NO ONE, not even Matt Hughes himself, took GSP down as quickly as Kos did.

To be fair, I hate Koscheck with a passion- PASSION- But I have to respect his ability. I have seen VERY few guys with his level of a double leg- and few have been able to get him off or keep him down.

Randy is no longer a guy at the top of the game- I have no doubt that Rashad would dump him easily, there are a half dozen heavies who can school him on the ground


RANDY HAD ISSUES TAKING DOWN BRANDON VERA FOR CRYING OUT LOUD

Randy had problems with Nog, and lord knows Brock took him apart- the Randy of old would NOT have been held down so easily by a BEAR- much less a man with such limited cage experience.

You may have some all-timers on the list.

But I have the best CURRENTLY.


I'll give you Kos. He is a greasy head **** but the dude can wrestle your right. He did take down GSP like a mad man, but he is still a dick.

I would like to discuss my pick Randy Couture. He is one of the best still in IMO. He isn't the best "wrestler" but he is very good at Greco Roman wrestling. He gets you in the clinch and keeps you there. He gets you to the ground and ground and pounds the poo out of you.

Randy out wrestled Vera. It was one of the more boring fights to watch but he did exactly what wanted to do. Vera had no chance against him.

I still think Randy can hold his own against people at his own weight. It's kind of tough to out wrestle someone that has 30 lbs on you. Lesnar through him around like a rag doll. Lesnar has like 30 LBS on him. Lesnar threw around Frank Mir when they weighed close to the same.

You have to give me Jake Shields pick. He is a Top 5 wrestler. He is the only WW that has a chance to wrestle with GSP. Shields is a man.

Hendo still have some wrestling. Nothing what he used to be.

Couture can hold his own.

I think Jake is a must on this list.
A natural WW and he owned Hendo for 20 minutes straight - and Hendo is a legend. (But for that same reason, I'm not sure Hendo is top 10 any longer).
