OK, Im sick of hearing Stallone was a greater action star then Arnold. Arnold was a 7 time Mr. Olympia and was the main character in the Termianator movies. He also made such classics as the Predator (all time best movie), Commando, the Running Man, the Conan movies (especially the Barbarian), True Lies, Red Heat, Raw Deal, Twins, Kindergarten Cop, Total Recall, and End of Days.

Arnold was also born in Austria came to this country, became the worlds best action star, and now is the governor of the biggest country in the US.

Fine Sly made the Rocky movies and the Rambo movies, but seriously were those movies any better than the Predator and Commando? I doubt it.

Check out these scenes and tell me with a straight face Sly is better.

and

Thats what I thought so.

Arnold was also born in Austria came to this country, became the worlds best action star, and now is the governor of the biggest country in the US.

You left me confused there... Alaska is the biggest State in the USA, CA comes a distant third.

Why is Sly greater than Arnold as an Action Star?

The man did porn and one of his earlier monikers was the Italian Stallion, which is more impressive to say to your girlfriend than I'm The Predator.

How can people say that Sly's movies were better than Arnie's? Besides starring in the movie classic "Rocky", Sly after seeing a fight of Ali's, wrote the actual script.

The results of Sly's hard work earned "Rocky" 10 Academy Award nominations, and won Best Picture, Best Directing and Best Film Editing, a unique triple play by a relatively unknown commodity in the Film Industry.

Plus, Sly was born on American soil and he has the option to choose to do what Arnie can't do, run for President.

Good luck.

I dont know how many chicks you pulled, but the chicks Ive known wouldnt think it was cool if I did porn. I would think it was cool if I did porn. But thats a discussion for another day.

Arnold had by far the biggest muscles. He could lift 600 lbs stones and leg press buicks. Sly worked at it and was chisled in Rocky 4, but the fact of the matter is Arnold was just the more physical speciman. Remember in Last Action Hero when Arnold saw the poster of Sly. He laughed at how puny he was.

As far as one lines go, Arnold was untouchable there. "Whats the matter Dillon, the CIA got you pushing too many pencils","I'll be back", "consider it a divorce","you're fired".It simply doesnt get any better than that. Oh and one of my favorites. Can Sly do this?

He wasnt just the bigger action star than Sly, but the biggest action star of all time. And its not close. Forget that oscar crap, those are for those elitists in Hollywood, who are so jealous of Arnold its pathetic.

You say Sly could run for president because he was born here, but that rule could change solely for Arnold, so that he might run for president.

Arnold had by far the biggest muscles... Sly worked at it and was chisled in Rocky 4, but the fact of the matter is Arnold was just the more physical speciman.

It's fairly obvious, more steroid use.

[I]Remember in Last Action Hero when Arnold saw the poster of Sly. He laughed at how puny he was.[/]

That's all Arnie could do, his dialogue was hideous, one liners were all he could remember or even muster to pull off on the sets.

Philly has a statue of Rocky placed in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where is Arnie's statue?

You talk about Sly's terrible movies but how about mentioning Arnie's not so great ones like "Red Sonja", "End of Days", "The 6th Day" or even "Collateral Damage"? Too bad to remember right? What about "Batman & Robin"? That movie almost killed the franchise alone and put Arnie's film career on temporary freeze frame.

Rambo was the more athletic actor and was far more instrumental in building his franchised trilogies.

Lets calm down on the roid use. Sly was caught red handed receiving roids and HGH. Its obvious Arnold has the better genes just like in Twins.

Philly has a statue of Sly because they are a loser sports town with loser fans. Plus they can barely read and wreak of cheesesteaks.

Bad movies? Judge Dredd, Driven, DTox? Jesus those were terrible. Everyone is entitled to bad movies, but those were ultra bad.

I'll leave you with this. Arnold grew up as a poor kid in Austria, starting lifting, became Mr Olympia 6 times, became the greatest action star of our generation and generations past, and became governor of California, and he's republican. Thats insane. Did I say he won Mr Olympia 6 times, I forgot the one where he was retired for 5 years, decided to try another, and won. Because he's awesome.

Ask yourslef this. If I were to have a son, and wanted my son to grow up and be a mans man, who would I want him to look up to? I'll say Arnold Schwarzenegger. Is there any more mans man than him? No.

Big deal Rocky got lucky against Apollo in Rocky 2. Arnold destroyed Apollo in an arm wrestling match in Predator.

You talk about Arnie over coming obstacles, well Sly at birth had one of his nerves severed that caused his slurred speech and his lower lip to sag. He suffered for his art and only did the porn film to keep him off the streets.

Choosing between Sly or Arnie as the better action star is like choosing between apples and oranges. Do you want the actor that truly is more athletic and less dependent on special effects and can actually tell a story, or do you want the actor to just flex his muscles and say corny one liners?

For me, Sly will always be the better action star and Arnie will be remembered for his one liners. When Hulk Hogan was inducted to the WWE Hall Of Fame, he had Sly introduce him. In the current film, "The Expendables", Sly not only stars in it, he wrote and directed it and was creative enough to find way to include Arnie and Bruce Willis.

This man is 64 years old and still doing action movies, people still enjoy his talents and it shows in the box office releases. Right now, Arnie is no where to be seen in this genre except for his cameo appearance in a Sly movie.

Someone on here has to be in their 30's at least and knows what Im saying. The kids dont know who Arnold and Sly are. Lets go older, cooler guys, time to step up.

Was that sarcasm?

Don't know about cooler, but definitely older. Like Arnold better, but right makes some great points. Will wait for further arguments before voting.

ok, as far as accomplishemnts goes, Arnold is the man.
But as for movies, I think the nod goes to Sly. I mean how can you disregard the fact that he wrote his first Rocky?
While I've watched most of those guy's movies and grew up with them, I think, as an actor, Arnold was more versatile in his roles (with DeVito), but Sly made the antologic Rambo & Rocky that are part of the american culture...

It was the argument by right about Sly writing that first Rocky movie that threw me for a loop. I prefer Arnold, but right is making it tough to decide.

Man, as actors the both SUCK.

I loved the Terminator movies, but it was not the awful acting of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, or (you remember his name? right? NOT!) Michael Biehn.

and left says "classics" and then lists Comandos HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... it has classic LINES! like
"remember when I said I woudl kill you last? I lied"
or
"I let him go"
That movie is great at 2am, when you are eating bagel bites after going out drinking all night. But Classic! HAHAHA Kindergarten Cop?!?!?!! That movie fogging sucked!! "Its not a tuuumorr" That funny line is as much a joke AGAINST Arnie as it is a funny line in the movie!

Geesh. At least nobody had claimed that Oscar was a great Sly movie...yet

Burt Reynolds>Both

Predator, great movie.. but nobody was buying the great dialogue between Arnold and Bill D when they were "fighting", were they? That scene was just plain painful

I didn't know that, Eazy! I bet he's still kicking himself over turning those down.

It's action movies. Meryl Streep gets all the rave reviews, but do you really want to go to one of her movies? I'll never forgive Clint Eastwood.
