Whoops, forgot to mention. . .
(Stupid me for doing this in wordpad and forgetting to copy it all >_<)
A 3-4 defense eh?
Well, I hate to tell you this, but Taylor and Freeney are not 3-4 DEs. Your defense would be run all over.
And because this is an all NFL 3-4 defense I'm going to keep people in their natural position. Urlacher could not play MLB in a 3-4. Stroud also plays DT in a 4-3. Adalius has been moved inside by the Patriots.
Bio1590 | 08/28/07, 01:35 PM
Report Offensive CommentDwight Freeney would be completely useless in a 3-4. Terrell Suggs, Richard Seymour would be better picks for a 3-4. At least them guys can stop the run and get at the QB.
GoatHCW | 08/28/07, 02:01 PM
Report Offensive CommentTerrell Suggs is a 3-4 OLB or a 4-3 DE.
He'd fail at being a 3-4 DE

Report Offensive CommentHaloti Ngata DT...Big run stuffing DT who's born to play in a 3-4
Also, I like Wimbley more than Ware for OLB.

Report Offensive CommentNgata plays in a 4-3
and Wimbley was a rookie. We'll see him after one more year.

Report Offensive Commentvote to Bio for not putting 250 pound speed rushers as his gap control defensive tackles in the 3-4.
jsang74 | 08/28/07, 02:33 PM
Report Offensive CommentNgata plays in a 4-3 46/ 3-4 hybrid.... and somebody let go hawks know that a DE in a 3-4 is a 2 gap guy responsible for tying up blockers so the LB's can make plays....
mikesteelnation1 | 08/28/07, 03:00 PM
Report Offensive CommentHe doesn't put up a lot of numbers, but Pro-Bowler Casey Hampton (Steelers) is the best run-stopping nose tackle in the league. I can't believe that he wasn't included on either team.
aglebagel | 08/28/07, 03:39 PM
Report Offensive CommentWilliams is better.
Want proof?
Steelers-Chargers game.
Williams blew up Faneca (one of the best guards in the league) and Hartings in double teams on almost every play.
He recorded 6 Tackles (3.5 for loss) and 1 sack

Bio1590 | 08/28/07, 05:04 PM
Report Offensive CommentTaylor does line up at both DE in both alignments (3-4 AND 4-3) and he also lines up at OLB when the Fins use the 3-4 packages.... he is a versatile guy who plays lots of positions on that D....

Bah Humbug | 08/28/07, 05:15 PM
Report Offensive CommentJason Taylor is a natural DE though, that's why I didn't put him.
He's a DE over 75% of the time, therefore he should not be included.
Bio1590 | 08/28/07, 05:23 PM
Report Offensive Commentand there's no way in hell Taylor lines up at DE in a 3-4.
He'd be killed.
He's a 260 pound speed rusher, not a 300 pound gap stuffing monster.
Bio1590 | 08/28/07, 05:24 PM
Report Offensive CommentHe does line up at DE in a 3-4, watch game film.... he still performs the same role of pressuring the QB, but does line up to the side of the NT. He is a speed rusher but is strong and has great technique...
mikesteelnation1 | 08/28/07, 05:29 PM
Report Offensive CommentHe doesn't have to be a gap stuffing monster, that isn't the scheme Miami employs when he lines up in that spot... they put him there to catch the O line off balance... Taylor has a sick swim move technique....
