braves and the playoffs

is anyone gonna be surprised if the atlanta braves don"t make the playoffs?

Not at all. Every fan knows that is why it is called a "race" . The race to the finish is always settled at the end. The Braves could lose two or more of their key performers tonite against Washington and be finished for the season. What they have done up to now can only allow us to "predict" what they will do the rest of the way out. They play every game left against NL East opponents; teams that know them inside and out. Only the Phillies have a lock on the play offs and they may or may not play their #1's in the 3 final games of the season. Atlanta definitely having many offensive woes going right now, I won't be surprised if they drop 2 of 3 to Washington prior to playing the Marlins at home. AND , the Marlins seem to play the Braves tough in games that really matter to the Braves.
Having watched the Braves all year I can see stress and frustration on every player during the Phillies series and that has a way of carrying over to other games as well. If the Nats come out scoring early the Braves will start "pushing" too hard to catch up. They are great come from behind at home, but not so much on the road.
I will be pissed if they don't make it, but not surprised. MTC

well all i can say is that the braves are doing their usual version of the tomahawk flop and barring a complete meltdown of the padres or giants,i don"t see the braves in the playoffs,the only thing i can see is the braves sending bobby out a loser.

Well, if that is all you can say then I guess I don't have much to argue against. But I will say this, regardless of how the Braves finish "this" season, Bobby will NOT leave the game a loser.
Being in the top 4 or 5 managers of all time means that he will enter the HOF as soon as eligible. He is a classy guy and has always been labeled a players manager. That alone sends Bobby out as a winner.
The Braves won today. They will continue to take one game at a time. And by the way, the Padres don't have to have a complete meltdown for the Braves to make the playoffs. It is the Braves that lead in the wild card chase and the Padres have the Reds and Giants to go in the regular season. Being beaten by the Reds or Giants does not indicate the Padres had a meltdown, it just means that got beat.

i"m not saying that bobby is a loser,it"s just that his guys look tired and going on there past few years,unless a miracle happens,i don"t see vthe braves in the playoffs.everyone knows that bobby is 1st ballot hallm of famer.and as of 9-26-2010,the braves trail san diego by a .5 game for the wildcard

I would agree on Nirvana. But I disagree on the song selection.
"Smells Like Teen Spirit" was modeled as a rip off of The Pixies. It's pretty much the least grunge song Kurt Cobain ever wrote.
