Let me start by saying I am not a Lawyer. I don't want to write a research paper. I am not a reporter. I don't work for Sports Illustrated. I'm just a sports fan and that's it. Now my pick for this game.
My head says pick Philly, but my gut says pick Washington. I'm going with my gut on this one. True Philly is faster and younger and Mike Vick has found the fountain of youth. In the past couple of years though, Washington has always played Philly tough. They may have lost most of the games, but they are almost always close. Here is why they'll win.
1. Washington's Defense is superior to Philly's. Philadelphia hasn't had to play a defense like this yet, with Vick as the starter. Green Bay Shredded that O line. Washington will put a Spy on Mike.
2. Shanahan is more committed to the run than Reid. I think Clinton Portis can run in this defense.
3. The play is always breaking down with them. So with Washington reporting that they are going to spy Vick. They should be able to contain him.
3. Redskins lost 2 games in a row. Are going are going into a hostile environment against a division rival revenge on their minds. Makes for a lethal combination.

OK maxwellinformed lets Throwdown!
The Redskins are 1-2 and could easily be 0-3 if it weren't for some real bad coaching in week 1 by Dallas. They just got whooped by the Rams last week! Yup the Rams, and Steven Jackson only touched the ball 11 times.
Washingtons defense is superior to Phillys? Are we talking about the same Redskins that blew a 17 point lead against Houston and gave up almost 500 yards passing. That team has a Superior defense?
Clinton Portis is not the Clinton Portis of a few years ago. Can he still be productive? Yes but in a limited roll. He can't carry the burden of an every down back anymore.
The Eagles offense is flying high since Vick entered their week 1 game against the Packers. The Eagles defense has always been very respectable under Andy Reid. They are home against a Redskin team that is struggling to find their own identity under new coach Mike Shanahan and new QB Donovan McNabb. I think they will find it but not this week.
McNabbs home coming will be a good game but the way the Eagles are playing right now they will take it 24-17. McNabb will produce the best he can but the rest of the team will let him down.

Can't say I disagree with you. Washington did take a bad loss last week. But you have to give Washington credit for that win in Dallas. 1. that touchdown before the have doesn't happen unless the defense picks the ball up and runs it 40 yards for a touchdown. 2. that hold at the end of the game doesn't happen without that aggressive defensive pass rush.
McNabb knows Philadelphia's defense. He knows that Asante Samuel doesn't play straight up and cheats off of routes. Other than Asante who else in the secondary is there for Donovan to worry about? Quintin Mikell is a horrible safety. Mike Bell? Joselio Hanson? McNabb is going to eat this secondary alive. Houston is a good defensive team year and Donovan completed 28-of-38 passes for 426 yards against them.
Plus you have to look at who Philly has played. I might be able to get 7 yards per carry against Jacksonville. They beat the Detroit Lions score 32 points on them. What kind of defense lets the Lions score 32 points?
tdbubba15 said 10/01, 11:45 AM
That touchdown doesn't happen if Dallas takes a knee right before the half! OR Choice just gose down and accepts the fact he wasn't going anywhere?
McNabb knowing their defense means nothing. Every team knows every teams offense and Defense. It's a matter how you disguise it and how the Redskins will recognize it?
You Also have to figure the Eagles also know McNabb and his weakness' so they might play defense around his abilities.
And your barking about the eagles giving up 32 @ the Lions. Well how many did the Redskins give up to the Rams? yeah I said it, the Rams.
This is a very big divisional game for both teams and the Redskins season my hang in the balalnce of it.
The Eagles are in the drivers seat ready to take complete control of this division. aWin makes them 3-1 and that would be 2 wins ahead of the rest of the division.

Mike Vick is quoted as saying "It's the Redskins against the Eagles, not Me against Donovan" He's only half right. It's not about Mike Vick vs. Donovan McNabb. It's more about Andy Reid vs. Donovan McNabb. As good as Mike Vick is, Andy's play calling hasn't changed much. Having Vick in the shotgun, is not fooling anybody. We know it's going to be a pass. Was it Andy Reid that made Donovan look good? Or, was it Donovan's talent that made up for Andy's predictable game planning? Donovan's finally working with a coach that respects the run game. Say what you want about Clinton Portis' age, if you give him a big enough hole , he can still take it to the house.
McNabb may be not have a lot of good receives but his knowledge of the Eagles' defense, after 11 seasons certainly gives an advantage to the Redskins. "The Eagles are in the drivers seat". They probably think that too. I smell let down. Philly fans have treated Donovan like crap for 11 seasons. It's payback time.

Pulling for McNabb as the sentimental favorite I can understand. But thats not how the game is won.
And NO it is not about Andy Reid vs Donovan McNabb. The day it becomes about player vs player or coach, we may as well call the NFL the NBA.
This is about the Eagles vs the Redskins. Division rivals. the Eagles are the better team here top to bottom.
I do belive the redskins will play them tough hence my 24-17 perdiction.
When you key your defense on one player like your suggesting you leave yourself vulnerable in other spots and the Redskins don't have the defense to make up for it.
I have said all I can. Hopefully it's enough to sway the voters to ............
VOTE FOR THE EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!

Maxwell, Mike Bell doesn't play defense he is a running back.
Your assessment of Washington makes zero sense. Washington has the worst rated defense in football. Your assumption of Clinton Porits is also unfounded, Portis has 140 yards in 3 games, thats not good. The Washington offensive line is pitiful to add to Portis's misery. If Washington could not stop a rookie QB Sam Bradford, and the back up running back in St. Louis, how will they stop Vick, McCoy, Jackson, Maclin and Celek?
I will agree with one point, Washington does play Philly tough most years. However, Philly usually wins in the end because of superior talent, this year is no different.

Damn. I'm sure it really does make life interesting. I always thought you kept pissing off the mods or asking for your account to be deleted. That's one of the most odd stories I've ever heard on FN...and that's saying a lot. Any idea how many accounts you've had?
