Yes i know theyll be undefeated and some other teams will have 1-2 losses. But look at thier schedule!!!! Oregon State and VTech are their only 'quality' and while solid programs neither can be considered elite. Theyre a good squad but there is no way they could play a SEC or Big Ten schedule or even a Pac -10 one, they play 2 decent teams year then beat a bunch of cream puff teams by 40 pts then cry when they dont get in the title game GIMME A BREAK

If they go undefeated and every other team has a loss you have to consider Boise State for the national championship.

This is not the first season Boise is going to be undefeated. Since 2006 they have lost only once (against #9 TCU in the Poinsettia Bowl). They beat Oklahoma in the 2006 Fiesta Bowl as we all remember and last year against TCU.

This year the beat Virgina Tech and Oregon State.

Sure they have had the easier schedule but they beat everyone that has faced them and have been doing it for years. They are CRUSHING there opposition. This year there average margin of victory has been 33 points.

Why does it matter if the other teams play a tougher schedule if they are getting beat by lesser teams (S Carolina).

Lets look at the remaining schedule of the top 5 teams

OSU
Ranked teams on schedule(RTOS): 2 (#18 and #15)

Oregon
RTOS: 2 (#17 and #24)

Boise
RTOS: 1 (#19)

TCU
RTOS: 2 (#23 and #11)

Nebraska
RTOS: 2 (#20 and #21)

If these teams lose with their schedule, Boise should be considered for the Title. None of them faces a Top 10 team. TCU has the toughest remaining opponent in UTAH.

Forfeited Turn

Back to schedule.

The teams you face does not matter if you cannot beat them. There is nothing brave about playing a #19 team and getting beat.

Alabama was outplayed in that game and if OSU or Nebraska or Oregon are losing to teams ranked well below them, they should not be playing in the national title game just because they had a tougher schedule.

Forfeited Turn

WOW

Both Ohio and Nebraska got outplayed and lost.

Boise leads SJ State 48-0

there is no way to challenge this logic.

it is a FACT that Boise would have 2-3 losses if they played bama's schedule
they dont face near the talent that teh SEC teams face week after week

October 14, 2010  04:40 PM ET

EXACTLY, would almost like to see Bama Boise state tho, would show what a different league the SEC is Im sick of hearing all the talking heads on TV talk about how Boise State is the little guy getting the shaft, they spend all season beating the hell out of the little guy (remaining schedule: San Jose State, Louisana Tech, Hawaii, Idaho, Fresno States, Nevada (who is the only remaining team they play that can has adopted the forward pass) and Utah State

Boise State should play over any 1 defeat team. How can anybody say they can guarentee the Broncos would lose 2 or 3 games in the SEC, nobody knows. Plus everybody is forgetting, if they played in the SEC, they would have better talent since the pool would be larger to pick from. They are not lacking talent right now now imagine if they were in the SEC and stole just one or two top talent from a Florida, Miami, FSU, Georgia, UNC, Bama or Auburn etc... It is not realistic to assume (you know what that does) anything when they have beaten everybody including Oklahaoma and other top teams for years now.

Stunning that you'd side with him.

WR

Are you just a mid-major hater? Why shouldn't Boise State get a chance at the national title? Where is it written in stone that year in and year out the title game has to be two teams from the power conferences? All the Bronco haters out there remind me of Billy Packer complaining nonstop about George Mason getting into the Tourney back in '06. And that was truly an exciting run GM had to the Final Four that year.

It isnt but the National Title should be played between the two best teams int he country, and if you can look at Boises Schedule and say well if they can beat those 2 teams theyll go undefeated then you cant call them one of the best, im not a mid major hater but if you not playing top competition every week you dont deserve to be considerated among the nations best

I think you are a bit confused as to what constitutes a fact.

fact, n. [fakt]: something observed to have actually happened.

So you have observed Boise State playing an SEC schedule and losing two to three games?

If so, were you on hallucinogenics at the time, because I'm fairly certain that has never actually happened, and therefore, cannot be a FACT.

You may believe, rationally and on the basis of a solid understanding of the game and having observed many games this year played by Boise State and SEC teams, that Boise State would lose two games playing an SEC schedule, but you cannot call it a FACT.

Of course. It's one of the benefits to knowing how to read.

What other source are you supposed to cite when someone clearly does not understand the definition of a word?

Boise State is now 2-0 in BCS bowl games. I believe that it was the Broncos AD that put the challenge out there that they are willing to play ANYONE, not too many takers though. So they get punished for being a mid-major. A one loss team from ANY of the power conferences will get the chance to play for it all before BSU would ever get a shot. That's just the way it is, the national title game is for the power conferences ONLY. That's not right but that's the way it is.

That's obviously not a fact, that is an opinion.

Reading comprehension is difficult, right?

I don't disagree with what you're saying. It's a good explanation of why college football's post season is a disgrace.

Its difficult for college football to have a true playoff system. If they have an 8 team playoff that would mean 3 more games for the team that goes to the final instead of 1 the same problem of ranking and far fewer games which means less revenue.

The only other thing would have to be a relegation type of conferences like they have in the Englsh Premier league. You have 20 Tier 1 teams who play other Tier 1 teams and the bottom 4 get relegated and so on.

Sloppy & Sabeeh

I agree with both of you. The current system is frustrating and there doesn't seem to be a reasonable way to fix the mess known as the BCS.

Lol there is bear again. Bashing my Boise State Broncos. ROLL TIDE ROLL...right out of the national title picture!

October 14, 2010  09:54 PM ET

People that still think Boise St isn't on par with other big teams are either willfully ignorant or haven't watched them play (though that is forgiveable, I hate their guts for that **** field of theirs)

October 14, 2010  11:03 PM ET

boise st. will not go undefeated as NEVADA will beat them and make everybody happy!
