We are better than the sucky cubs. Better starters, ace, bullpen, and closer. Better deep threat, Prince Fielder. Better young stars, fielder, hardy, gallardo, braun, and weeks.

First off, let me comment on the throwdown title. Not a chance. Will the Brewers finish better than the cubs? It could be, but I doubt it. You see, you can tell me that you have a better line up, better ace, whatever. The simple fact is that the brewers took off early in the season and simply can't keep up the pace. Your 'ace' (I assume you are talking about Sheets) is great. Sure, but only when he is healthy, which is about half of the year.
Full-blooded Badger said 09/02, 10:02 PM
That is right. if he can stay healthy, he is great. Right now, they are on a 4 game win streak. if the cubs even slow down a little bit, they will be done for. Sheets will pitch 5 or six more games for sure, and he will probably left, and if the brew crew can take them, it could be over for the cubs. it all depends on if sheets can stay healthy. if he can, we are a much better ball club than if he gets hurt. the team practically lives off of him. it all depends on sheets and fielder.

That's a lot of IF's. At this point of the season, you can't count on IF's. You can only count on production. Here is a breakdown of run producers for the season:
Batting Average
Fielder: .283 Ramirez: .318
Hart: .286 Lee: .308
Hardy: .277 Soriano: .293
Hall: .258 DeRosa: .287
Your IF's paint a really pretty picture for your brewers, but the factual numbers paint a completely different one. Count on the long ball all you want, but it's consistency that counts in the end.
Full-blooded Badger said 09/02, 10:15 PM
yeah, well the cubs have no bullpen. all they have for pitching is zambrano. and he has not been very productive lately. and by the way, Braun is hitting .325 and he a rookie. a very consistenant rookie who will win rookie of the year. he is a home run hitter as well. In august, Weeks hit .327, Hart hit .313, and Hardy hit .292. and even though sheets has missed a while, he is still 11-4, Cordero is one of the better savers in the game, converting 38 of 44 saves. future NL central champs

Please, allow me to retort! So far this year, the brewers as a whole have an ERA of 4.50, compared to the Cubs ERA of 4.00. The brewers have earned runs adding up to 602, compared to the Cubs earned runs of 535. The stats on both the hitting and pitching sides say that the cubs are a better team than the brewers.

Report Offensive CommentI'm a Brewer homer and I have to say they will probably not even make the playoffs, much less win the World Series. They need to drastically improve or get hot.

Report Offensive CommentThe Brewers are going to finish in third place in the worst division in baseball. I'm sorry that your Brewers got your hopes up with their tremendous start, but its time to face reality. The Cubs and Cardinals, even the Reds are all winning consistantly now, while the Brewers are having trouble winning a series. The truth hurt don't it. Keep your hopes up though, there is always next year.
