I thought about san diego, but they turn the ball over too many times..

The Chargers have to be there.

For me they come in at #8 ahead of the G-Men .

I understand they turn the ball over but there ratio (-7) is slightly worse than NYG (-5) who you have at 7.

In addition, San Diego gives away the ball less than NYG. SD has 18 giveaways (6 INTS and 12 FUMBLES) while the NYG (have 21 turnovers (11 INT and 10 fumbles)

They have the number #1 passing offense and total offense. They are #1 in Yards per play ahead with 6.3. In PPG they rank #7, #10 in third down conversions, # 2 in time of possession per game.

And this was without having Vincent Jackson in there lineup.

On to #7, PHI Eagles.

Top 10 in PPG, YPG, Passing YPG, Rushing YPG and yards per play. They also protect the ball (9 TO so far).

And that is without having Vick for some of those games. They can beat you deep with D-Jack and Maclin, McCoy is a good RB and Vick can something out of nothing with his legs.

The chargers...
Maybe Im being to harsh on them..
But if your life depended on it, would you want them with the ball..
Something is just wrong with them! Their record is 2-5 and something is telling me TO stay away from them.. They are just unreliable! It just doesnt make sense, a team that leads in offense and defense, AND then is 2-5..

Phili is a solid choice, its hard to rank them cause of their quarter back controversy..
Kolb is better than mediocre, but not by much..
Vick waaaaay bettter, but can he stay healthy for the rest of the season??

Your choices are flashier, mine are more consistent..
baltimore and the jets are one dimensional but very effective and they get the job done!

"But if your life depended on it, would you want them with the ball"

Instead of Eli Manning, Mark Sanchez or Vince Young/Collins then yes. The reason why they are 2-5 is the turnover differential but more importantly special teams. I am not a fan of Rivers but if a guy can throw for 4000 yards for 3 straight years,

He has not been turnover prone in the past like Jay Cutler so the turnover problems are not something that cannot be overcome.

Philadelphia

Even with the QB controversy the team has been good on offense. The performance under Kolb vs ATL and SF was pretty good and now with the return of Vick it will only get more explosive.

Health is always an issue in the NFL. I would think it would be a greater issue for Jets as they rely on a 31 year old Tomlinson to be there lead rusher or TEN as they keep on handing the ball of to Chris Johnson. CJ2K led the league in attempts last year and is leading the league again this year.

If your life depended on the chargers making a successful drive, then you must be suicidal!!
Rivers has never been a winner!!
Sanchez, Young AND Eli are big time winners!
Eli showed he is great at making final drives, (Especially the super bowl, when he broke patriots hearts)..
The chargers, like the Bengals, just dont have it this year.. I cant put my thumb on it, its one of life greatest mysteries..

Philidelphia has major QB controversy.. That is always going to disrupt the chemistry of the team, cause the team will struggle to find a routine.. The eagles struggled bad against the titans, while it was only one game, it wouldnt surprise me if they get a couple more bad performances this year..

Tomlinson and johnson are having tremendous years.. Im sure they will hold up for 9 more weeks!
The titans and jets have magnificent running games, which takes alot of pressure off their QBs..
Give me those steady, consistent offenses ANY DAY of the week!

"If your life depended on the chargers making a successful drive, then you must be suicidal!!"

I will take my chances with them over Jets, the lesser Manning and whoever Titans put @ Qb.

But this about more than a drive, its about the full game.

Lets put up Rivers stats vs the three other QBs

Rivers
316.3 YPG
15 TDs
7 INTS
98.9 QB Rating
64.7 Completion Pct

Sanchez
193.7
9 TDs
4 INTS
78.8 Rating
53.0 Completion %

Eli
243.3 YPG
14 TDs
11 INTs
88.3 Rating
65.7 Completion %

Vince Young
142.5 YPG
9 Tds
2 Ints
59 Completion %
103.1 QB Rating

Rivers out gains these guys buy a wide margin per game. Better rating than everyone except Young. More TDs. INTs are lower than rest but he is still accurate.

Consistent please. The Jets have failed to score a TD (vs BAL and vs GB). The offense relies on the defense to create scoring opportunities via turnovers. Add to that a 37.5% on third downs.

The Titans went head to head today with Chargers and SD out gained them 456 to 370. SD was 12-18 on 3rd down, TEN 4-3.

The Chargers have the WORST special teams I have ever seen and that is why the record is so poor.

I would switch the Steelers for the Chargers. Otherwise it is a pretty good list. I will vote off arguments.

Kind of hard to leave SD out of the conversation, turnovers or not. But will wait to see what else Froggy has to say.

October 29, 2010  10:54 PM ET

Watch out for the Titans. Kenny Britt is coming into his own. If they have a passing attack to go with Chris Johnson, woo boy.

What is unbelievable is they have the the most ypg in offense and allow the least YPG in defense yet they are 2-5.

Even weirder, they are #1 passing offense and #1 defense.

Ribbet.

cool!

You shouldn't quote them, the comment will be removed but your quote will not.

Not a bad list, but think the omission of the Chargers will cause you problems. Good luck.

How are the ravens completely one-dimensional?

Good question. The same point could be raised about the Jets.

I completely agree with this. Something is definitely wrong with the Chargers this year.

Cowboys have to be there. They may be 1-5, but through no fault of their offense, which is 5th in the entire NFL.

For them to not be on EITHER list is insulting.

Without Romo, it is difficult to put them up there.

Agreed. They are currently #1 in the NFL in both offense AND defense.

Ok, I'll give you the fact that Romo is injured, but as it currently stands, they are number 5 and should be there. 2 or 3 weeks from now, I could see them being omitted.

Maybe I'm splitting hairs here. I don't know. But I woulda had them on here.

Vote goes right.

For left to omit the #1 offense in the NFL, regardless of their 2-5 record (San Diego) was a critical error on his part.
