*This is a direct challenge TD agreed upon by both sides*
Thursday Night football game. Who has the better chance at a victory? Bears or Dolphins?
As you may I know, I am going to take the high powered Chicago Bears.
I will start off with the fun stuff..the defense.
Chicago Bears defense
-16.2 points a game (2nd)
-301.9 ypg (4th)
-82.3 rpg (2nd)
-219.6 pyg (15th)
- 14 INT's (6th)
-14 Forced fumbles (2nd)
Compared to the
-21.3 ppg (13th)
-314.1 ypg (8th)
-110.2 rpg (16th)
-203.3 ppg (6th)
-6 INT's (27th)
-6 Forced fumbles (23rd)
So the only advantage I see for the Dolphins defense over the Bears is the passing yards per game. With the Dolphins as a run first team with Ronnie and Ricky I don't see them having very much success. Hell, the Bears shut down AP last week. (17 carries 51 yards).
With the run game shut down, that leaves Tyler Thingpen (is that how you spell it?) to beat the Bears. Which I have a very hard time believing he can beat the Bears with no run game.
I think the Bears are the better team right now.

Thanks for making this TD!!... good first argument but not good enough...
Please tell me your kidding... Did you know that the Dolphins play in the AFC and the Bears play in the NFC?? The Dolphins have had a much tougher schedule thus far.
Lets take a look at their losses Steelers ( the refs screwed the game!!), J-E-T-S, Pats, and Ravens... this may be why their stats are not up to par. These are all fine losses to have because they are all top 10 teams in the NFL. Then take a look at the bears season. It hasn't been pretty!
The Dolphins are not a run first team!! Did you see the game last week?? The dolphins threw for 316 yards over the air against a good Titans secondary. They haven't been able to run the ball effectively this season.
I think Tyler Thigpen is gonna shred the Bears D. He is the best QB anyway just watch!! Did you see the last drive? Did you see him play for KC in 08. All the guy does is make plays and will actually get the Dolphins high paid stud WR Brandon Marshall involved! Henne sucked.. Lets be honest with the Dolphins offense a QB should have a hay day.
The Dolphin D is underated... They will get after Cutler and make him turn the ball over!!

Yes, the Dolphins have a tougher schedule. I can agree with you there. But last time I checked, a loss is a loss and a win is a win. The Bears have beaten the teams they have played. They can't pick the schedule and neither can the Dolphins. So the Phins have beaten
The Bears have beaten 3 out of the 5 teams there. Plus, the Bengals are in total meltdown stage. They aren't good.
Tyler Thingpen you say? He has played a whopping total of....wait for it.. 19 NFL games! Hardly impressive. My question to you is why would the Chiefs get rid of him if he was so good as you say? Why did they go out and get Cassel?
Thingpen hasn't played enough to "shred" the Bears defense. All the Dolphins fans were saying Henne was the next Marino. How'd that work out? Brandon Marshall has one touchdown on the year. One.
Also, Jake Long is going to be out. Have fun Julius Peppers. Dolphins center is also out. Have fun D- line.

True just a thing to consider looking at for stats...
Thigpen is going to be a stud I'll explain it in my third argument... He is a huge sleeper... People just think he's a typical third stringer but he's a young very talented player with a bright future. I can't wait for Thusday night so you can finally actually see what he does.
You are off Long is likely to start and he shut down Jared Allen and other great DE's I won't be surprised if he shuts down Peppers plus Thigpen is very mobile.. He can scramble with the best of them!! On the other side one of your LBs is hurt Pisa.
Another thing to consider is that the game is being played In Miami!! I went to the game last week and the crowd was finally into the game about 95 % full unlike other weeks... This will make a huge difference.
I think whoever makes the least amount of turnovers will win this game!! With Cameron Wake the third leading sack leader with 8.5 sacks it will be the Dolphins. We also aquired Al Harris who will cover the worst #1 WR in the NFL part time. Cutler has 9 picks already he will pick 2 more up tmrw...
The Phins offense is much better!! Ill explain why in my next argument.

I would like you to answer a question for me if you will. How is Tyler Thigpen a sleeper when he has played in 19 NFL games and went 1-10 with the Chiefs. I can't fathom that. I mean shoot, Caleb Hanie could be a "sleeper". Tyler Thigpen needs to play a little bit more to be known as a sleeper.
You are off Long is likely to start and he shut down Jared Allen and other great DE's I won't be surprised if he shuts down Peppers plus Thigpen is very mobile...He can scramble with the best of them!! On the other side one of your LBs is hurt Pisa.
Jake Long is questionable. He is not starting for sure.
Julius Peppers numbers of sacks are down this year. But he is the anchor of the Defensive line that stops the run. Do you know how many false start penalties he has caused? Against a back up tackle? I think he will be just fine. He does the stuff stats don't account for.
Thigpen cannot scramble with the best. Mike Vick is the best. Vick > Thigpen.
The Phins offense is better. Everyone knows that. But the Bears defense and special teams set them up so they can score. Devin Hester everbody.

My first point I want to make is that yess noone including yourself knows about Tyler Thigpen really... Well I do... The sports bar we are watching the game at tonight you know well I watched the Phins Chiefs game 2 years ago at the same place and this is what happened. Tyler Thigpen led the Chiefs with 4 tds 1 rushing to almost beating a playoff Dolphin team. They lost in a high scoring affair. 38-31
In 2008 here our some of his numbers 14 gms, 2608 yds, 18 tds... On the ground 386 yards rushing 3 tds and he even caught a td bomb. With a garbage team!! Give this guy B- Marsh, Ronnie Brown, and Ricky Williams he will be a stud!!
With a less conservative playing style he will throw the ball over the place tonight and run. I have heard the coaches and players are very high on him. If he finishes the season well he will be starting next year. I have a lot of faith in this guy and think he's a better fit.
On NFL.com it said Jake Long is likely to start.
Im not denying Peppers is good... Im saying he won't do much tonight and yes I think Thigpen is a top 3 running QB. He just makes plays thats all I'll say.
I can't wait for the game tonight!!! GO PHINS
