let me try to argue this 1..
WE all know that these 2 are arguably the TWO BEST EVER
I would jus like to say that Ric Flair's matches were a little better..
I mean the leg drop vs the figure four here.. but look
Ric Flair had better matches than Hulk..
Ric might not have star'd in all those Wrestle Mania's like Hogan but that's all Hogan has over Flair..
Flair for the most part too was a heel.. Hogan minus the NWO was face..
another fact is that Flair still had some solid matches in the 2000's.. Hogan was trying to cash in on his popularity.. you could say Flair was too but he still brought it..
Even Flair's last match against Shawn Michaels was pretty stellar..
"To be the best, you have to beat the best" ..
Hogan beat Flair on numerous occasions.. the only reason for that is because Flair was heel a majority of the time they squared off..
Ric Flair's in ring ablility and matches in itself were better than Hogan's..
these two are wrestling God's but you have to give the slight edge to Flair..
seeing Flair retire was sad.. seeing Hogan come back and back made Michael Jordan and Brett Favre look like angels.. lol

the TWO BEST EVER
I wouldn't have either in my top 2, but that's another story.
They are both great wrestlers regardless.
I think we both agree that, in the ring, Flair was better. Hogan left much to be desired with his in-ring "talent."
But wrestling is more than the actual wrestling part.
First, there's the showmanship. The part of playing you're role as either a heel or face. Hogan did that incredibly. There's a reason he, not Ric Flair, headlined the first 9 Wrestlemanias. That also accounts for Hogan's flexing routine that he would do after wins that the fans loved
There's also the promo part of wrestling. Hogan is one of the greatest of al time at cutting promos. He has catch phrases that every kid growing up knew. When comparing these two, Hogan again takes the category.
So while Flair is the better wrestler of the two (and to be honest, it's like picking how you're going to die; neither option is good) but Hogan is a far better showman and promo guy.

Rude, any Flair vs Steamboat fight is leaps n bounds better than Hogan's best match..
Flair had the strut..
Hogan cheated wrestling.. he did ROIDS.. newsflash..
Ric Flair and the Four Horseman paved fhe way for the NWO
Flair made wrestling in the south..
Flair is 16 x world hw champ..
Wrestling is more than in ring ability rude.. but come on.. in ring counts for a majority of the showmanship

I think I said that. Didn't I say that?
he did ROIDS.
Ok, let's be honest here. Who wasn't doing steroids in that era? You can't honestly think that Hogan was doing roids and Flair was clean. Hogan may have been taking more of them, but every wrestler was taking them back then.
That argument is mute.
Four Horseman paved fhe way for the NWO
Which brings me to my next point.
Hogan played an amazing babyface in WWF in his heyday, then jumped ship and played an amazing heel in NWO. NWO is what saved the WCW for as long as it was around.
Honestly, I couldn't tell you a time when Flair was a heel or a face outside of his days with Evolution. Flair didn't have the star power that Hogan did. That's why Hogan takes the cake.
There's a reason he headlined all those Wrestlemanias

Ric Flair considers himself a 21x HW champ.. thanks wiki..
Ric Flairs rivals..
Kerry Von Erich..
Ric Flair won match of the year in '83, '84, '86, '89, and 2008
Ric Flair's last match in WWE/F was rated the best match in the 2000's!
this is all from wiki.. not original..
Ric flair wasn't the biggest, or the baddest.. but he was the best
Hogan won match of the year 4 times to Flair's 5.. but Flair getting match of the year in 2008 at the young age of FIGHTY-NINE YEARS OLD..
One stat that stands out is that Ric Flair was the first EVER wrestler to be Hw champ in both WCW/NWA and WWF..
Yeah yeah.. HOgan slammed Andre the Giant.. He starred in Rocky.. so what?
Who's in ring ability was better?
Who was more intriguing?
Who marketed themselves?
all those answers are Flair..
Ric made Hulkamaniacs want to style and profile..

No love for Hogan, huh?
I still don't know why you're bringing up his matches because I've said twice now that Flair had better in-ring abilities, but if you one insist.
Hogan won match of the year in '85, '88, '90, and '02
Here's the kicker though
Hogan won most popular wrestler 3 times and most hated wrestler 2 times. He also won most inspirational wrestler twice.
Honestly, that speaks volumes as to how good Hogan was at the showmanship part. He could be one of the greatest faces of all time with his Hulkamaniacs routine or be the biggest heal in NWO.
Honestly, when you think of the biggest heels in wrestling, NWO has to be up there. And when you think of the best babyfaces, Hogan has to be up there too.
He was so talented with his persona. People could love him and they could hate him. He was that good at what he did.
