Willie Parker will have the most rushing yards in week 1

Willie Parker will be lead the league in rushing yards this week. Hes going against a terrible Cleveland defense and is fast enough to gain big. Also, the other elite rushers are going against relatively good defenses. The one exception, Larry Johnson, held out for most of the preseason. Also, his coach has said his workload will be lighter in the beginning of this season.

Willie is a hit or miss back. Check his two games against the Browns last year. One was AMAZING and the other one was absolute crap. You don't know which Willie will show up.

My pick is Frank Gore. He's going against a weaker run defense in Arizona and he's an amazing, consistant back.

Pittsburgh is also passing the ball more this year, which will subtract from Parker's carries.

SF will lean on Gore a lot more than Pittsburgh will lean on Parker.

Pittsburgh is always more of a run team. When they won the super bowl, they ran far more than they passed. Willie Parker is more comfortable as the starter, stronger, and fast as hell. In his last game against cleveland, he broke a steelers record with 223 yards. he then finished the season with 3 130+ rushing yard games out of his last 4. the only weak game he had in his final four was against Baltimore. Also, Frank Gore got ONLY 51 yards on his last game against the Cardinals.

You mean his last game? 51 rushing yards, okay, with 2 TDs and another 35 yards through the air. 86 yards and 2 TDs on 17 touches (5.1 YPT), sounds like a good night.

Frank Gore's rushing numbers are low because he didn't receive a lot of carries. He only had 11 in the last game against Arizona, and 16 in the first one.

You're so high on Willie, but do you forget his first game against Cleveland last year? 46 yards and 2.9 YPC. Pathetic.

The recieving yards and touchdowns that Frank Gore have in this argument are irrelevant. The rushing yards are the only thing that is important. I admit, that Willie had a rough first game against cleveland. His most recent, however, was a team record game for rushing yards. Gores last game against arizona was extremely weak. Plus, he had an injury during the preseason. Honestly, I dont understand why youre so "high on Frank" when he is playing a team that he does not have good history against.

You're missing my point.

51 yards, 4.6 YPC. HE DID NOT RECEIVE ENOUGH CARRIES.

Honestly, how often are you going to put up over 100 yards on just 11 carries? Are you dense?

And besides, you're saying "Oh preseason Frank Gore didn't play blah blah". Guess what? Willie DID play and looked like crap. 36 yards at 2.6 YPC against teams with weaker run defences. The Preseason DOES mean something.

What I'm saying is that there's no way to be SURE Willie will because he's the most hit-or-miss back in the league. He's either on, evidenced by that game, or he's just gone, evidenced by the other Browns game.

Larry Johnson. Both of your picks are good though.

Don't think LJ is gonna get the full load this week but he will have a big week against Houston i with Sjax... i know hes going against Carolina but i see him exploding

Report Offensive Comment

All purp yds give it to SJAX but strictly rushing Johnson.

What about McGahee dude?

Report Offensive Comment

I like McGahee hes going again a crap D but i'll wait until he plays the browns to give him the most yards for the week :)

Report Offensive Comment

Yeah Cincy's D sucks. What do ya think for the season? I'm thinkin like 1200-1400 yds for McGahee.

Report Offensive Comment

As long as he gets more then Lewis i will be happy.. if him and Mcnair can be good this year they are gonna have a great year

Report Offensive Comment

They are gonna have a great year anyway. With that D they can't be worse than 10 wins.

Willie will Rush more than LJ

Foster Baby!

LJ might have more yds over the season, but this week, im almost positive it will be Willie. They are going to give him less carries in the beginning of the season and rightfully so, considering he needs to conserve his body, help out for pretty much the entire preseason, and is going against the texans (dont need much help to beat them)

Cleveland has a terrible run defense but Parker wont lead the league in rushing after week one. My money is on......(no bold prediction here)...someone else.

Report Offensive Comment

The Arizona-49ers game could be a shootout but I am hesitant to say Gore will do the best in the league since he is coming off a hand injury. We shall see.

Parker could have the most rushing yards this week but he could also win the rushing titile this season. there won't be a 2000 yard rusher this season, but he'll be the closest despite the fact that pittsburgh has stated big ben will throw more, we'll just wait and see. also look for frank gore.

Travis Henry against that poor Bills' run D.......

Report Offensive Comment

If Mcgahee has 1400 yards this season I will ghost ride my whip in chinatown

LT!!!!!!!!! idk who theyre playing though

Report Offensive Comment

I am sure frank gore is goanna rush all over the cardinals defense

Report Offensive Comment

Your picks are both good. But I'm curious to see how Gore does coming off an injury from the offseason/preseason.

Last Season Gore totalled 138 yards in both games and losses to the Cardinals. The Cards D has improved so I don't see gore lighting up the rushing world come monday night.
