When they played earlier this season? Atlanta won, 20-17 and it was an excellent game.

The Seahawks beat the Saints last weekend in a shocker in one of the biggest upsets in WC history. After the Saints beat the Seahawks during the regular season.

Green Bay will be able to break down that game film and make the necessary adjustments to win the game.

Just like the Seahawks did.

Another interesting fact?

The last time they played?

Aaron Rodgers led GB in rushing with 51 yards on 12 carries.

James Starks was hurt earlier in the season and broke out last weekend against the Eagles with 123 yards on 23 carries. The Falcons will have to deal with Starks this time.

The last time they played?

They gave up 20 points to Atlanta before the Packers defense started to really come together and play a lot better the final 2 games of the season. They gave up just 20 points in the 2 games. Just 10ppg.

Packers win this game, 20-16.

Disagree???

Throwdown!!!

BRING THE PAIN!!!

Im your huckleberry

Although I did pick the green bay to win the SB. I've decided to jump off the packers bandwagon, and DJ has given me an excellent chance to do so!

Green Bay looked very average last week! If Philie didn't have such a horrendous game, (Im talking about a fumble where the eagles dude landed right on the ball and then looked all around for the ball and couldn't find it! EVEN THOUGH HE WAS RIGHT ON TOP OF IT!), then the eagles would have won!! Also, Vick had an average game.. If he got hot like people thought he would, then the eagles would have gone through to the next round!

To me, the game of the year in the NFC was the saints vs falcons..
Even though the falcons lost, it was an extremely intense and competitive game!
If the falcons can play with 90% of the intensity that they did in that game, then the falcons will be victorious.

There is nothing sexy about the atlanta falcons. But all they do is win!
To me they remind of the pats first championship season. That year, the pats did nothing superb, but they won games when it mattered..

Oh, and you are forgetting, the falcons are 19-2 at home since matt ryan took over!
NOW WHERE YOU GOIN TO GO?

"Green Bay looked very average last week!"

Average? Average?

What the Hell are you talking about?

They allowed just 16 points to Michael Vick and a potent Eagles offense that was averaging 27.4ppg, 3rd in the NFL.

They pounded the ball with Starks who had 23 carries for 123 yards. Rodgers did not throw a lot but he was very efficient when he did:

18 of 27 for 180 yards, 3 TD's with a 122.5 Passer Rating

You cannot ask for much more than that.

The GB defense limited the Philly running attack to just 81 yards on 21 carries. And did a great job of limiting Vick to just 32 yards on 8 carries.

They did an excellent job of containing him and limiting his big plays running the ball.

GB has a better balanced team than NO. Mainly, a much better defense, 2nd in the NFL, allowing just 15ppg.

And if the Falcons stop Starks? Rodgers will go the air and attack the 22nd ranked pass defense.

19-2 at home is impressive.

But I would take Rodgers over Ryan in a must win playoff game. Maybe that is just me but Ryan has lost his only playoff game he has played in.

What am I talking about!

Come on dj! The eagles blew that game and we both know it!!
Had that dude recovered the ball, like he should have! Then eagles win!
Had Vick played like he did in the second half, the entire game, the eagles would have won!
It was just a really sloppy game by the eagles, THAT is the only reason why the eagles lost!

180 yards by rodgers isn't going to scare anyone! (ok, he didn't really need to, but it wasn't exactly an all star game by rodgers!)..

When I watched the falcons saints game, I became a believer in the saints, that was an extremely high quality game, and had turner, who never fumbles, not fumbled on the end zone, the falcons would have won..

High quality games is what interests me..
The Packers just cant play at the level of the falcons!

19-2 at home, (for the falcons), vs a 10-6 team in the regular season!!
I'd take my chances with the 19-2 team any day of the week!

True, Ryan has lost his only play off game, but this is a new season..
And this season the falcons OWNED the NFC..
I believe that trend will continue tonight!

Atlanta is just too solid, and green bay is just too flimsy!

"Come on dj! The eagles blew that game and we both know it!!"

There are 2 ways to look at it.

The Eagles choked or the Packers defense stepped up.

I believe it had a little something to do with the GB pass defense.

5th in ypg allowed.

And 24 INT's, 2nd in the League.

"Had Vick played like he did in the second half, the entire game, the eagles would have won!"

Games are not won based on "what if's."

"180 yards by rodgers isn't going to scare anyone! (ok, he didn't really need to, but it wasn't exactly an all star game by rodgers!).."

122.5 Passer Rating.
3 TD's
0 INT's

A win is a win. He did not need to throw for 250-300 yards. He has proven he can air it out when needed to win a game.

"The Packers just cant play at the level of the falcons!"

Really?

They played the Pats pretty tough on the road. Without their starting QB.

The Packers are too flimsy? Really, HCF?

I must confess..
the baby shower was the highlight of my day!
I should have quit when I won that free bottle of wine..
I showed no faith in the Steel men!?!?!?!?!
Id like to think that the falcons can mount a come back in the second half..
But being realistic, GB owns the falcons in this game!

remember DJ.. we are 2-2 in predictions.. so dont get cocky, just cause I got scared!

look forward to seattle bailing me out!

Lets get it done before game please.

Packers.

Atlanta doesn't seem to get a lot of respect for a #1 seed.

January 15, 2011  11:58 AM ET

that game film being the GB-Atlanta reg season game obviously...

Tought PCH might be on early and accept this quickly. LOL.

I'm expecting Atlanta to win this game. But my reasons would be more of an "argument" before right posts... whoever right ends up being.

I'd take this TD if it was earlier in the week. But not with the game starting tonight. That's gonna be 24+ hours of people voting after the game finishes.

I guess beating the Saints, Ravens, Packers and losing to the Steelers in OT makes them overrated.

Just because they're not a flashy team doesn't make them overrated.

There is a reason they were average, the Packers played well and made them look average.

January 15, 2011  01:45 PM ET

Dj backing the Pack? Even I think that they have one heck of an uphill battle. The Falcons aren't a flashy team and they aren't particularly great in any one area but they are solid across the board. If Green Bay can give Rodgers time, the Packers win. I just don't know if they can....

The reason why the Packers get more respect than the Falcons is because they (the Packers) have shown the ability to maul pretty good teams when they play their best. The Packers are a flashy team that has higher highs and lower lows than most teams while the Falcons are more consistent.

Falcons remind me of a team that had an excellent regular season but gets bounced in their first playoff game of the postseason.
