HB Adrian Peterson MIN
HB-WR Reggie Bush NO
WR Calvin Johnson DET
WR Santonio Holmes PIT
TE Vernon Davis SF
T Marcus McNeil SD
T Joe Thomas CLE
G Chris Chester BAL

Looks fun, I'll do it.
Easiest decision of my life--I'm running a 3-4:
DE
Tamba Hali, KC
Mario Williams, TEN
DT
Amobi Okoye, HOU
OLB
Patrick Willis, SF
A.J. Hawk, GB
ILB
DeMeco Ryans, HOU
Paul Posluzny, BUF
CB
Darrelle Revis, NYJ
Leon Hall, CIN
S
LaRon Landry, WAS
Donte Whitner, BUF
BENCH
Kamerion Wimbley, CLE

I wish I had more bench spots - I really wanted to put Freddie Keiaho and Antoine Bethea on here after last week's showing, but there just wasn't a place for them.

You have assembled a fine defense there, but Leon Hall? Ginn smoked him, and then Dwayne Jarrett manhandled him in the rosebowl. What do you think the better versions of Ginn and Jarrett would do to him (CJ, Santonio)?

Personally, I would have went with Revis and Tye Hill.

You have no overly big guys on your line. It is pure pass rush. I have plenty of mammoths on my line that would push around Mario Williams, Hali, and Wimbley. Mario is improving, and will be the leagues best DE someday, but MCneil would dominate him on both passing, and rushing situations.

Have you noticed how much speed my team has. Even my QB is fast. I have a feeling this team would have success rushing the ball, and quick throws. If Vince was to display his passing skills, would you be able to stop all of his weapons on every play. Each skill player is a home-run hitter.

So you're saying that my main flaw is that I don't have big guys, then you're telling me you're going to beat me with speed? Do you see the discrepancy here? My team is built to stop your speed guys.

Yes, my corners would get burned by your WRs. Most starting NFL CBs get burned my most WRs; there's more talent at the wideout position, and that's why zones are becoming more prevalent. With double-teaming and a strong pass rush, I'd be able to handle Johnson and Holmes.

My defense would use your offense's inexperience to its advantage by bringing numerous blitz packages, Baltimore-style. Not only do I have a passel of linebackers who can swarm the pocket, I have Wimbley on the bench which gives me great versatility. He can fill in at either linebacker position or at DE, and Williams can move inside to DT, which will help keep defense fresh and unpredictable--you don't know for sure where people will be coming from.

As for your team, I don't have much faith in your O-line. 4 of 5 guys on your line lost in week 1. Their quarterbacks were sacked a combined 19 times, and despite high hopes for all of those teams' rushers, none could get a run game going. Not good.

Your team is built to stop my speed guys? How so? Hall, Revis, and Landry are your only speedsters.

AP will blow by all of your linebackers, and so would Jones-drew, and Bush. Could you imagine having AP, Bush, Jones-Drew, Calvin Johnson, and Santonio Holmes on the field at the same time. Those are five guys that could make any college's track team. You only have three players with enough speed to match up. That leaves two open.

With the presence of my running game, I could see Vince faking handoffs and just turning the corner on a bootleg.

I noticed your comment on my line. So those teams combined for 19 sacks. Who were the qb's? Harrington, Pennington/Clemens, Rivers, McNair, and Frye. Oh yeah, a real mobile bunch there (note the sarcasm).

Even if my line were to falter, you know you can't stop Vince. Almost every defense he has faced, he has torched with his legs. This D would be no different. The guy is simly clutch, and there is no way he loses a game with all of this talent. He would have a field-day against this D, running the ball, and passing.

So you think it's those quarterbacks' fault they got sacked, not that they got zero protection? I disagree.

It doesn't matter how fast your guys are if they don't have time to get downfield. My pass rushers are going to be on Young so fast he'll have to throw half his passes away or take the sack. And if you have AP, Bush, Jones-Drew, Johnson, and Holmes all on the field at once, that means you don't have a tight end in, which means you've only got five inexperienced lineman standing in the way of my five-man rush that can come from any combination of guys.

Furthermore, look at Vince Young's stats against teams running similar defenses to mine:
vs. DAL 10/1 - 47.9 rtg, 14-45 loss
vs. BAL 11/12 - 63.9 rtg, 26-27 loss
vs. NWE 12/31 - 39.9 rtg, 23-40 loss

I assume you chose VY over Cutler for his win record, but his record against blitz-heavy 3-4s is not so good. My team would destroy him.

what about chad greenway

Report Offensive Comment

other than the fact that he's played in 1 game, and hasn't outplayed Wimbley, Willis, or Hawk yet... what was the question?

Report Offensive Comment

Chad Greenway hasn't played 3 NFL games, and I would move Posluzny outside and Willis inside. Also, what about Richard Marshall at CB? He had a great Season 1 with the Panthers, and you don't know what either of this years guys can do yet. Marshall would be my choice.

Report Offensive Comment

he wouldn't be any worse than willis or hawk

Report Offensive Comment

damn, forgot Huff. But Whitner's good too, and I didn't choose Bethea, I chose Landry, who is a hard-hitting beast.

Report Offensive Comment

how many games has posluzny played in?

Report Offensive Comment

one, and he led his team in tackles. Greenway did not.

Report Offensive Comment

Greenway is worthy of discussion the kid can play. Nice job both of you, Its tough to decide. I think the three-headed RB attack would be too much for your front to handle though...I'll go with the O.

Report Offensive Comment

greenway plays behind one of the better defensive lines in the nfl and has a great mlb ej henderson racking up tackles next to him. posluzny is by himself of course he will get more tackles. btw they both had 10 tackles and greenway forced a fumble

Report Offensive Comment

im a little busy now, but i will finish this up by tonight...

Report Offensive Comment

Depends whose stats you're looking at. I have Greenway w/ 4 tackles and 6 assists, which is good, it means he's consistently around the ball. But I like Poz better.

Report Offensive Comment

ok, I'll have to wait until morning to respond then. that's cool though.

Report Offensive Comment

what about mark anderson instead of tambia hall. He was a beast coming off the bench for the leagues best defence last year

Report Offensive Comment

laurence maroney anyone?

Report Offensive Comment

Anderson's great too, but I chose Hali for his size, which makes him a better fit in a 3-4.

Report Offensive Comment

great TD, CW1984 - fun idea, good arguments.

Report Offensive Comment

vote to dan for his pic..just kidding but I did agree with him...Captain Chaos is the man

those defenses you mentioned are top tiers. Vince would be facing 1st and second year guys with your d. Its a good matchup, and if it happened, it would be a heck of a show.
