I think that the one thing that would benefit FanNation would be the ability for the administrators to ban IP addresses.

Think about this.

If you're able to ban IP addresses, do you think Roy is going to be coming back time and time again? You think that you're going to have a billion dupe accounts after people's first account gets deleted?

It wouldn't work very well since a lot of throwdowns have to do with researching statistics, players, teams, etc and making the best team, selection, etc with the most evidence to back up your opinion. You know how difficult that would be while on an iPhone or iPod application? You just don't have that ability that you need to have for 90% of the throwdowns that people participate in.

If you ban IP addresses, you will end up with more fair throwdowns since you don't have **** repeatedly coming back like GTPX or anybody like that. You don't have Havertown coming back every once in a while starting up a bunch of TDs against themselves. You have that one time, and then none after that.

Banning IP addresses would be the best for FanNation.

What you said in your first argument was an iPhone/iPod application. What you failed to mentioned there, and you can't go back and try to change it now, was that a lot of people don't have an iPhone that they can make a TD argument on that. People have Blackberries, Androids and other phones that have internet accessability phones. If it is just an iPhone/iPod application, why not include other phones?

So let's say you're at a party, and are being "social"... why the hell would you want to make a TD argument then? Is that your number one concern? Let's say you're sitting at a bar, out with a bunch of friends, just watching a sporting event. Are you going to be thinking "Oh, I need to make a TD argument now!" and pull out your iPhone just to make a TD argument while being social?

And are you really going to be typing up an argument while traveling? I'm sure that's your number 1 goal while in the car, right? What happens if you're the one driving and you have to make an argument? Do you just pull over on the freeway right there and make an argument? That'd be silly.

With banning IP addresses, you only ban them if people are obnoxious, like GTPX, Roy or Havertown.

And if you're going to post an argument, it's easy to post an argument that you don't have to look up statistics to, but just look at all the throwdowns that are out there right now. Most of them involve statistics that need to be researched in order to do the throwdown, and to do that, it's awfully hard off of an application.

Another problem that you run into, is the people that are on here -- a lot of people only get on from work, or they aren't familiar with the cell phone applications and the app wouldn't work for them, but they are involved in the TDs and are annoyed by the constant dupe accounts. Granted, if you have more than 1 computer at home, you can just do that -- but they could ban multiple IP addresses if a problem arises.

Here's a major problem that you can get rid of if you have the ability to ban IP address: SPAM. Get rid of the spam, and you lose a lot of the complaining that people have about it. Plus, you can ban the IP addresses of the spam users and you can even ban WAN or HAN by the spam users to cut down on the mass amounts of spam that is attacking the blogs, message boards and T&R sections.
