UFC 126 predictions
Please try to have at least 2 different. And just for fun add how you think the fight will end.
UFC Middleweight Championship bout: Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort
I'm gonna take Anderson Silva via 2nd RD submission but not without a scare from Vitors stand up skills. Vitor is a BJJ black belt but I don't think he brings it into MMA well enough to avoid the Submission.
Light Heavyweight bout: Forrest Griffin vs. Rich Franklin
Rich Franklin will take this Via decision. Forrest Griffins only advantage is his height. Rich Franklin has the better overall game and he'll use it to his advantage to out score Forrest.
Welterweight bout: Jake Ellenberger vs. Carlos Eduardo Rocha
Jake Ellenberger will use his wrestling to keep Rocha from winning. I can see this being one of those snoozers. Ellenberger via Decision.
Light Heavyweight bout: Jon Jones vs. Ryan Bader
Great Match-up here but I gotta go with the more Dangerous Jones in this one via 2nd rd TKO. Bader has great wrestling and has the ability to control the fight but he'll get caught.
Bantamweight bout: Miguel Torres vs. Antonio Banuelos
Torres via 1st round stopage. MTC Fannation

Anderson Silva vs Vitor Belfort
I am actually leaning towards Belfort on this one. After the Spider got rocked a few times by Sonnen I saw his weakness and that was his chin. Anderson has never really been hit hard before and Sonnen dropped him more than once. I'm going with Vitor via TKO in the 2nd.
Forrest Griffin vs Rich Franklin
I see Forrest winning this fight via UD. He will utilize those leg kicks of his and work in a few takedowns and some GnP. Both are pretty equal in the stand up department but Forrest is the bigger stronger fighter and I think the strength is gonna matter.
Jake Ellenberger vs Carlos Eduardo Rocha
This is a tough one for me. I'm gonna roll with Rocha. He is a submission expert and I think he sneaks one in on Ellenberger in the 3rd.
Jon Jones vs Ryan Bader
This is the hardest pick for me. I haven't seen Jones fight a power puncher before and Bader can bring the thunder. And Bader has never seen a fighter like Jones, great striker and wrestler. I expect this to be the fight of the night winner and I'm gonna go with Jones via UD.
Miguel Torres vs Antonio Banuelos
Torres via 1st Rd sub, most likely a RNC or guillotine.

Good job so far. So we agree with the Miguel Torres and Jon Jones fights.
I don't know that Andersons chin is his weakness. 31 fights and he's never been KO'd. Not to many MMA fighters can boast the same credentials. While Vitor for sure has the Fastest hands in MMA (and I want him to win) we all know Vitor is a mental midget in the octagon. Also he hasn't had a fight in almost a year and a half.
Lets be honest here, Forrest Griffin is a scrapper and thats about it. Rich Franklins skills are far better overall. Lay and pray is the only way Forrest will take this fight. Getting KO'd by both Rashad Evans and Anderson Silva show me his stand up is not very good. Rich Franklin on the other hand has 15 ko's in 28 wins. better than 50% to his resume.
Rocha does have quite a few subs but who were they against? Not to many Germans are sitting pretty in the top ranks of MMA. Ellenberger has the experience and should be smart enough to avoid putting himself in a bad spot. His wrestling will get him points with takedowns but thats about all we'll see with alittle bit of stand up in between. Bad matchup in my opinion.

Anderson hasn't fought a guy with hands like Vitor. I would say Lebon hits nearly as hard but doesn't throw nearly as fast as Belfort does. Anderson doesn't really have a weakness but I did notice he got dropped by Sonnen in that fight. If Belfort lands a bomb you usually don't get back up without smelling salt. If Anderson keeps Vitor away with his long limbs than he takes this fight, but if and when Vitor gets inside its lights out.
Forrest is the definition of a scrapper. He did get KO'd by Rashad and Anderson but come on Rashad hits hard, very hard and he throws fast and Anderson is one of the best striker of all time. Rich is getting old and caught a lucky shot against Chuck. Don't forget this is the same Griffin that beat the top 2 LHW in the world Shogun and Rampage(?).
As for Rocha vs Ellenberger, this was a toss up for me. I know it's going to be a lot of groundwork being done by Rocha and a lot of top position by Ellenberger, but I think Ellenberger is gonna slip up and Rocha is going to take advantage of that. Rocha hasn't fought anyone good but he handled them like you do against lesser competition. Ellenberger is a gamer but I;m calling for the upset.

OK so now Anderson Silva is one of the best strikers of all time? So wouldn't that be a big problem for Vitor Belfort?
Like I said Vitor does have the fastest hands in MMA but being away for almost 16 months may be a disadvantage for him. Heck I want him to win in old Vitor fashion with a 3rd rd TKO.
Now when I say we don't know what Vitor will show up I mean or I feel he doesn't bring his a game to big fights. He's never the aggressive fighter we were used to seeing in his early days. Anderson has the skilled striking and the mental game in this one.
It's funny how Rampage then Rashad then Shogun all KO Chuck with 1 punch then Rich Franklin does it and it's lucky. And no this is not the same Forrest griffin that beat Shogun and Rampage. He's lost 2 of his last 3 fights! not even close to the sam fighter.
Rich can handle forrest gump and will.
Good Luck woodee

Anderson is one of the best strikers of all time. The way he mixes kicks with punches is just amazing and the speed at which he throws both. But I give the hand striking to Vitor. He might not be as accurate but he is still very accurate and throws with a little more power. I know that Vitor hasn't fought the best competition as of lately but he has destroyed them like you do to a lesser foe. If Vitor shows up with his "A" game I think he goes home with the belt. Should be a great fight either way.
And you watched the fights with Chuck. He was getting owned by all three of the fighters above even before he got KO'd. With Rich, Chuck was putting it to him and even broke his arm with a kick which most likely would've meant that Rich wasn't gonna come out for Rd2. I know Forrest isn't the same fighter but IMO he is a better fighter than Rich is right now in their respective careers. With both Forrest and Vitor training together at Extreme Couture for their up and coming fights I hope they are motivated to win since both of them have a very realistic chance of going home a winner.
Should be a great card. Can't wait to watch
