An entire year? I see where you are coming from but has there ever been an NCAA coach that got suspended for an entire year and then returned to that school? As a life long BuckeyeFan I'm DISGUSTED with Coach Tressel's cover-up. All his yapping about good character has been destroyed. And to tell you the truth I'm at a loss as to way OSU is keeping Coach Tressel. Maybe the university knows some info that hasn't been made public yet?

I think coaches should be held liable for their violations. It's not fair to see a program get waxed while the coach who was responsible for the violation just moves on and goes to another program. Calipari had two programs forfeit their FF seasons and placed on probation and look at where he is now. Making bank in Kentucky.

No chance they suspend Tressel for a year. But they will do something serious to emphasize just how absurd Ohio State's reaction really was. 2 games (against Akron and Toledo) and $250K (which is pocket change for Tressel, and which the university is going to spend to cover the cost of their internal investigation). My guess is he gets 5 games and the program loses some wins and scholarships.

Ohio State has made clear that there is literally nothing -- other than perhaps losing -- that could get Tressel fired.

Very true. That's why it is best to keep a clean image, if the NCAA investigated every program, they would surely find some kind of violation. Don't draw attention to yourself or your program. Just look at what tweet tweet did to UNC's football program.
