OK. Lets see here, right comes out and pisses on the sport of MMA and calls it a 3 letter word the mods do not appreciate. Then talks soccer? Show of hands people. Who actually likes soccer?
First I want to say, yes I have given the "sport" of a soccer a chance. I've watched it many times, and its flat out boring. Euro Weenies flopping around the field like fish. Low scoring affairs. Sorry, but in this country, people prefer the sport of MMA over Soccer.
Americans like violence, we like two the truest form of competition. Two men entering a cage, one leaving victorious. We don't like grown men, acting like they were sniped in a 1-0 game. IT'S EMBARRASSING.
Americans respect true guts and glory. Not some bozo, with flowing locks kicking a ball around.
So, I leave it in FN's hands. What's it going to be?
This?
Or this?
I say to you Confucius, DEFEND YOUR "SPORT."
Confucius. Trout said 03/11, 11:01 PM
I have 3 words for you.
The mount position.
One man mounts another.
How is that NOT gay?
You need skill in Soccer, it's not just a couple of roided out meat heads wailing on each other or "mounting" each other.
Quit bitching about flopping, flopping occurs in every sport. QB's sell roughing the passer penalties, baseball players pretend to get hit at the plate, 7 foot basketball players fly 10 feet after a 6 foot guard grazes their jersey. It's the most over blown part of soccer, and it overshadows (for Americans) the stuff that makes soccer the most popular sport in the world.
Compare that lame ass video you posted to actual skill:
WARNING Turn off your sound before you play this next video, unless you like Fall out boy:

I first want to thank you for posting those two videos. I have the worst case of Insomnia, and you magically cured me. Thank you.
Now that I am fully rested let me carry on. You see Soccer might be bigger worldwide. Why? I still don't have a grasp on that. But, what I will tell you, is that in the states people really do not care about it.
I know, FN cares more about MMA. Why? I see more traffic in the MMA section. I see more comments in the MMA TD's. I believe in Americans. I believe they care more about a sport that really matters. And that's MMA not Soccer.
The US is a fast paced country. We have zero patience. We like things done quickly. We have no patience for a 4 hour game with 1 goal scored. MMA is quick. Its to the point. There is one winner. There is one loser.
MMA is the fastest growing sport in this country. Why? Because Americans can connect with it. Soccer has been around for many years and America cannot connect with it.
Now, you say MMA fighters are not skilled. I call you out. Many of these guys are great athletes who have trained for many years. They have competed in various sports unlike your soccer players.
FN likes MMA more than soccer, deal.

1. Kazushi "The Gracie Hunter" Sakuraba (UWFI) 23 - 10 - 1
2. Dan "The Beast" Severn (NWA) 81 - 15 - 7
3. Ken "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Shamrock (WWE) 26 - 12 - 2
4. Don "The Predator" Frye (New Japan) 17 - 6 - 1
5. Kazuyuki Fujita (New Japan) 14 - 6 - 0
6. Kiyoshi Tamura (UWFI) 27 - 12 - 0
7. Volk Han (Rings) 19 - 6 - 0
8. Brock Lesnar "The Next Big Thing" (WWE) 1 - 0 - 0
9. Bob "The Beast" Sapp (WCW) 9 - 2 - 1
10. Justin McCully (UPW/New Japan) 8 - 3 - 2
This is a top 10 list from some random website, would you like to know what it's about? It's about the top 10 WWE wrestlers turned MMA fighters, and looking at their records, I'd say they are very successful, and I could post this dude's top 20, but just knowing you can make a top 20 about this doesn't bode well for MMA.
So, how tough of a sport could MMA really be if the roided out day-time TV caliber actors could come in and dominate?
MMA is just a dumb fad that will fade soon.

You have dismissed MMA as an actual sport. Here is Herschel Walker, a football great, discussing Football compared to MMA:
???There was a lot that???s transferrable. I???ve always tried to tell the players that they should be training in some kind of MMA during the off-season. It would help them a great deal. Because everything you do in MMA training is almost correlated to what you do in football; where they always talk about getting your butt down and keeping your head up. And for a running back that stiff-arm is so important, for a receiver that stiff-arm is so important. For an offensive lineman the hands are so important and the leg strength. So there are just so many things that are correlated between football and MMA and vice versa. With my experience in football my athleticism plays a big part. I try to add a lot of athleticism to my MMA fighting.???
This is no keyboard warrior talking. Its a wordclass athlete.
You want facts. MMA is the fastest growing sport in America, with a 106% year over year increase in online interest. The UFC alone sold more than 9 mil PPV's totaling $465 million.
MMA is no fad. It's the future! And its more exciting than soccer hands down.
Confucius. Trout said 03/13, 12:25 AM
MMA is the future? The future of what? Certainly not sports, it's not even in the top 5.
9 million PPV's? Ok, how many people does that equate to? My guess would be around 20 million, not exactly jaw dropping.
Soccer is the beautiful game.
The skill these guys have is ridiculous. They dribble a ball with their feet better then most people can with their hands. Go out and try to juggle a soccer ball if you think it's easy, because it's not. Then think about how talented you have to be to do that in a game at full speed.
If you can't appreciate that, then you're just not a sports fan.
I ill say this, there is nothing worse then a bad soccer game that you have no rooting interest in (the type of game a lot of US fans see), and after that, they don't bother to give soccer another chance, trust me, I was like that too.
Soccer isn't just popular in 3rd world countries, it's popular for a reason.
All kidding aside, I respect MMA fighters as athletes, I just think the sport is stupid. And while some MMA fighters may be smart, the nature of MMA is barbaric and idiotic. Maybe we should bring back gladiator fights while we're at it.
