This guy has been at UT for FOUR YEARS, and he still hasn't been that impressive and stll hasn't had a signature win. HE was the QB a couple of years ago when UT had there first losing season IN PHILLIP FULMER'S HISTORY AS H.C. He still hasn't put up real big numbers, but still every year he has been picked to be a front runner for the heisman, and every year he disappoints. He really can't stay healthy for a full season, and even when he is he doesn't make good decisions. Comparing him to the last couple of QB's at Tennessee,Casey Clausen and Rick Clausen, he ranks third in overall on the way he led his team. I think Tennessee should start Jonathan Crompton from now on

Start Crompton from now on??? What are you nuts??? Oh, yeah, this is coming from a Georgia fan that will get beat by Tennessee (not UT) in the conference standings.
So far this season he has done sensational.
Pass Yds 796
Yds/G 265.3
TD 6
QB Rating 96.0
How can you begin to say he hasnt put up good numbers. He definately has. Take a look at his full career at Tennessee up to this point.
Pass Yards 5974
Yards/G 186.7 (257 the past 2 years!)
TD 47
QB Rating 84.9 (99 the past 2 years!)
As for BIG GAMES...
2006-
California
Air Force
GEORGIA!!!
'Bama
South Carolina
2005-
LSU
(he didn???t have many big games to win that year *easy schedule*)
2004-
Florida
GEORGIA!!!
Ole Miss
'Bama
South Carolina
Texas A&M (bowl game)
Do homework next time kid.

I don't think Erik Ainge is overrated, he is just not great, I have never heard anyone really call him fantastic. He won't lead his team, but no one calls him a leader, or a play caller, he is a disappointment, but not overrated.

I wouldnt say disappointment. They win every year, do they not? He isnt the leader he could be and may not be a heisman QB. He certainly isnt bad and he certainly is not overrated.

He's overrated by some (like the people that keep putting him in top 10 college QB lists), but for the most part people see him for what he is. A good college QB that occasionally struggles with consistency.
I sort of want to agree with you, because Tennessee has underachieved the past few years. Some of it is attributable to Ainge, but I don't think too many people think he is all that great.

when was he rated high, who said his name and heisman in the same sentence??? ive never heard of this??/
now i am a vol and hes the worst qb they had in 25 yrs, he is a wimp, he threw the ball out of bounds on 4th down last week, to me there is no excuse for that, his qb rating is all dink and dunk passes, not 1 ball went more than 15 yrds past the line of scrimage in the air last week

JDawg, Wow....you really dissapointed me with that statement. First of all, Ainge has yet to be a "frontrunner" for a heisman, but he should be on the list. Ainge is a very good quarterback, and is likely a first rounder in this years NFL draft. Erik has been the only good thing on Tennessee's football team this year. Our bad start to this year, has just about everything to do with our defense, and nothing to do with Ainge's performances.
Even with a broken finger on his throwing hand, Ainge has kept his ball club in the mix with both Cal and Florida, but alas, our defense can't seem to stop a p..e..e wee league offense.
Check your facts before you show your ignorant side next time....Plus, you can't say too much, losing to South Carolina with Blake Mitchell behind the helm.
