NEW YORK-After NFL COMMISH Roger Goodel got booed by NFL football fans. And hearing chants of "WE WANT FOOTBALL, WE WAN'T FOOTBALL", the Carolina Panthers selected Cam Newton with the #1 overall draft pick. Sure, he won the Heisman trophy, he won the National Championship in his only season in high level college football but none of that really seems to impress me enough.
There's no doubt Newton put up incredible numbers as the Auburn Tiger quarterback this past season, but there's just no way he's going to put those numbers up in his rookie season. Or any season he might play in the NFL. I think we can agree on that let's just say maybe Cam Newton has already lived his year of fame at the Collegiate level. Ryan Mallet who wen't in the 3rd round of the draft might seem like a more safe pick. Although, you can't blame the Panthers for picking Cam at this #, he still comes with a lot of questions. You can say that Newton has been a winner where ever he has played in the collegiate level(played at a Austin Tx college before playing at Auburn.
Who knows what the future brings for Cam Newton.
Only time can tell. And Newton will have a chance to silent the doubters.

Cam (or Scam) as he is called is the popular pick. But he has loads of talent and will get the opportunity like you said.
The Panthers will tailor agame plan to suit his strengths.
And with Williams and Stewart and now Newton? They could have the best running game in the NFL.
People compare Newton to JaMarcus Russell but Russ was not as athletic as Newton is. Newton is much more mobile than Clausen and Moore. The Panthers OL allowed 50 sacks. Even if he does not run for 600-700 yards? Newton will be able to buy time with his feet and give him time to find an open WR.
My selection is a team that traded 5 picks to move up from 27th to 6th to select.....
Personally, I think AJ Green is a better WR and more of a "Can't miss Prospect" than Jones.
This trade involves a lot of risk. And more than Carolina taking Newton No.1.
More to come, rookie.
BRING THE PAIN!!!!

The Falcons just mortgaged their future for a WR that may or may not pan out.
Cake and ........

The only reason Newton went #1 overall is simply because he was expected to go #1 overall.
And he won a heisman. Does anybody agree with me on this?

It was RISKIEST move. And while you went with the popular choice, Atlanta just gave up 5 quality picks in the next 2 drafts to move up 21 spots?
And take Jones?
Rather than some defensive help?
They plan on winning playoff games, 56-49?
