Here is what should happen at OSU:

Everyone involved, the entire football staff, all compliance people, AD, etc..... should be permanetly banned from the NCAA. Period.

All players involved who are there should be out. Out of the NCAA for good. The University should be fined in an amount comparable to the BCS money they have recieved over the past decade. Yea, that is a lot.

Then OSU can move on and everyone will know they are serious.

Here is what is going to happen at OSU:

Kids in 2013 are going to be paying for what players in 2008 did. Everyone who loses their job at OSU will be employed elsewhere with similar salaries.

I think this is a bit over the top. There's a few problems with your argument:

1) The NCAA has already said that it was Tressel not going to the compliance people and that was part of the problem so I don't know how you fire the compliance people that according to the NCAA had no knowledge.

2) Permanently banned from the NCAA? That's ludicrous and would never happen. Punishments need to be proportional, not draconian. A punishment like you discuss would be unparalleled and have no precedent. Even Dave Bliss, the former Baylor Basketball coach who covered up a MURDER of one of his players did not get a lifetime ban.

3) To take this stance at Ohio State means the NCAA would have to have similar investigations at all 122 D1 schools and how many of those schools will have similar problems? My guess would be many.

What the NCAA should do is revisit their antiquated policies that treat the university like a modern day plantation where students have no power, no representation and are not fairly compensated for their labor. If players received some form of compensation, like other scholarship and work study students, they would not have to resort to what they are doing

I will agree that the NCAA is bull, but not for the reasons listed by left. The organization carters to the tops schools in their respective sports. When 3-4 of your top ranked football teams loose games to unranked schools and it does nothing to the losing school's ranking then you can see part of the problem right there.

Right is correct in saying that many if not all schools would probably have the same problems should they be placed under a similar microscope as OSU. When a scholarship, or multiple scholarships, is not enough to meet an athlete's monetary needs for the year they have to do something. Although I will say getting tattooed does not qualify as a "need".
