Which over-hyped team showed its true colors?

I was going to pick the 49ers, but I'm going to go with the Redskins. Since I live in the Bay Area I heard a lot about the "Play off Bound" 49ers and it would make me gag. But nationally I heard a ton of sunshine being sprayed about the Redskins. For what??? They looked awful against Philly and they looked REAL bad today. I did not understand why their band wagon was soooo crowded but I think they were exposed today.

I don't think they looked awful today. They had a chance to win. And if they looked awful against Philly, it matters little, because they won a game they weren't supposed to.
Chicago has to get my vote. They're offense is simply putrid. They were supposed to have the "best" D in the league and were squashed by a Cowboys O-unit that is not really anything special. They are 1-2 with the one win a narrow escape against a horrible Chief club. Super Bowl favorite? I don't even see this team making th playoffs

The poor Bears have been taking heat since their first game that they lost. I heard many national sport talk shows talk about the dominant Redskins at 2-0. The 'Skins looked bad in their two wins and showed that they has issues. The media only went after 2-0, just like they did with the Lions. Both got exposed today for a closer resemblence to what they really are, 'Skins being the most.

I agree with you that the Skins are weak, but i don't think they were as highly evaluated as you are saying. I know the Bears are pre-season favs and they just don't look good at all. Their only saving grace from Grossman was a stifling D. But that D looked dead. And as of now, the Skins may look bad, but they have a better record than Chi.

I still think the Bears will salvage their season and make 9-7 or 10-6 type finish. The Redskins, however, won't make it to .500 despite ESPN's and SI's fluffy comments about them. Thank You Noon, it was fun!!

I don't think so. Chi has struggled thus far and have practically nothing to offer offensively. Their defense is over worked because of so many 3 and outs. I think we both made valid choices for poor teams, but I think the Bears were hyped, as you say, higher. So therefore they are more disappointing. Both should miss the postseason.

Bears are in deep doodoo

The Skins? They looked good in the 1st half, and got 4 fresh downs at the 2 yard line with around 50 seconds left. With that much time on the clock, Campbell could have run some pass play instead of spiking it on first down. Then after that you could do 3 runs up the gut.

"They were supposed to have the "best" D in the league and were squashed by a Cowboys O-unit that is not really anything special."

LOL. That "nothing special" unit leads the NFL in scoring while playing without their #2 receiver. There won't be another team score anything close to 34 on the Bears in Chicago this year.

Report Offensive Comment

Oh, and I forgot to mention, their #3 receiver is playing with a broken finger and dropped a TD pass that most 12 years olds would have caught, which would have made it 41pts...

The Teddy Bears look soft and they still donot have a QB that can run the offense

Beleive it or not, I have to go with Noon on this one. Noon you're getting better at having a "good" debate.

Report Offensive Comment

What about the SD Chargers who have 11 Pro Bowl players on their roster and are currently 1-2.

Report Offensive Comment

All valid points; Thanks again Noon.

have to agree with PackBrew - the Chargers got exposed the most. But of the Bears and Skins, I think the one who got truly embarrassed and outplayed all over the field has to be the "most-exposed." That'd be Chicago.

But Dan, firing Marty was supposed to be the final piece in the puzzle for the Chargers...I don't understand...

Report Offensive Comment

49ers got screwed so good choice not picking them

Report Offensive Comment

I vote for my broncos as the most overhyped team, their D couldn't get the jags off the field!

Report Offensive Comment

what about the Lions? everyone made a big deal about the 10 win Kitna and the 2-0 start. They beat the Raiders and the Vikings, two really, really bad teams

Report Offensive Comment

personally i think that the Bears have a lot of injuries on defense and also the bears do play the packers twice and that team is rolling.

Norvell Turner has an SD team with the most talent in the NFL and he can't get them to win. SD misses Cam Cameron & Wade Phillips right about now. Oh, and Marty Schotenheimer looks pretty damn good right now!

Ruby, you lose my vote for this line:

"They were supposed to have the "best" D in the league and were squashed by a Cowboys O-unit that is not really anything special."

I was not aware that the NFL's highest scoring offense through 3 weeks "is not really anything special".
**** tard...

A unit that was what, .1 points away from being tied for 2nd in the NFL last year? Jesus some people are dumb...
