PCH-type opening argument, huh?
Yes, Flacco is indeed overrated. He has been fortunate to have an excellent defense so far during his career in Baltimore. And he can be the popular "game manager" type of QB.
They went out and got Anquan Boldin because "he didn't have a WR." Yet what has he done in the playoffs when great QB's show what they are made of?
53.3%, 150ypg, 5.71ypa, 4 TD's to 7 INT's with a 61.6 Passer Rating
Did I mention show what great QB's are made of?
His stats indicate he has been below average in the post season, definitely not a very good QB at all.
53.3% indicates he is horribly inaccurate.
Reg season stats? Lets do those as well so you don't use the old "small sample size argument."
11th in completion %
11th in ypa
17th in ypg
2nd WORST in sacks (40), not very mobile or good at getting rid of the ball
BRING IT and let me slap the spit out of your mouth with my cane!!!

To be "overrated" you must be playing BELOW what you're "rated". Nationally and even here in Baltimore Flacco IS NOT looked upon as an "elite" QB...simply an above-average to good QB.
As far as your argument against him in the playoffs: NOPE, he hasn't been "elite". However, remember that until this year he had no WR help. Heap was always banged up too. Remember in the last playoff game against Pittsburgh when Boldin dropped a TD and Housh dropped a 20 yard completion to end the game? Those aren't Joe's fault.
Flacco has shown a steady progression where his stats keep rising year after year. The Ravens running game went severely down hill last season, Flacco played without a healthy offensive line, Cam Cameron poorly utilized Stallworth's speed and what remaining ability Housh had left among other well documented "screw-ups". Regardless, Joe had his best year to date.
He's also the only QB to win playoff games in his first 3 seasons.
His 2010 regular season and post-season QB rankings: 93.6 and 90.
Compare that to Matt Ryan who's supposedly close to elite: 91 and 69.

"However, remember that until this year he had no WR help."
Derrick Mason is currently 12th all time in receptions with 924 catches.
That is "no help?"
He has caught
passes since he has been in Baltimore.
The last 3 with Flacco playing QB.
"He's also the only QB to win playoff games in his first 3 seasons"
Defense, defense, defense.
Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl for the Ravens.
Because he is so good? No because he had a great defense and a very good running game.
Bottom line is Flacco is an average/mediocre QB, not above average or very good QB.
Flacco is indeed overrated.

So he had ONE WR threat who was up in age and slow. Teams like Pittsburgh constantly doubled Mase and left other WR's open who weren't exactly premier threats (Mark Clayton, Demetrius Williams, etc.).
Plus, Heap went through his injury spells which eliminated his TE safety valve. Especially his rookie year the running game wasn't good; ditto for last year. The only year it's been solid was his sophmore season. So 2 out of 3 years: zero running threat to compliment/help him.
He's also been shackled by Cam Cameron and his "i don't believe in audibles" philosophy; which is laughable, obviously. Cameron also was horrible as OC last season; Stallworth caught the 2 longest completions of the Ravens season but Cam insisted on using him to run reverses everytime he was in. It was a joke by seasons end.
As far as knocking "playoff wins" because of defense; are you seriously comparing the Ravens defense from the last 3 season with the Ravens 2000 defense? That's all i need to say about that; Dilfer-schmilfer; apples to oranges.
Flacco and Ryan have identical stats; so what you're saying is that Ryan is "an average/mediocre QB, not above average or very good QB"? c'mon man!!!!!

Saying Flacco does not have offensive talent is straight stupid.
Mason has been a very good WR throughout his career.
Boldin is an excellent WR and was a huge upgrade for the Ravens. Her had 7 TD's as did Mason.
Todd Heap is a beast of a TE. Averaged 15ypc and had 5 TD's.
Ray Rice may not have had a top notch season but he had 1,220 yards (51 First Downs) and caught 63 passes.
Big Ben is a better QB than Flacco and he wins games when it matters. He performs much higher than Joe does in the playoffs.
The Ravens defense may not be quite as good as the SB defense but it is still very good.
3rd i ppg allowed
5th in rushing ypg allowed
10th in ypg allowed
21st in passing ypg allowed
Ryan is overrated as well. But I would take Ryan over Flacco who has had a better defense.
