My bad, wrong type of battle.

The top 3 MMA "free agents" are:

1. Eddie Alvarez (Bellator)
2. Hector Lombard (Bellator)
3. Andrei Arlovski (ProElite)

Alvarez - has only been to Decision 3 times in his career, winning all of them. 19/22 wins are finishes. So when he gets into the cage he look for the kill. EVERY fan wants a guy like that on their $50 PPV.

Lombard - Much like Alvarez, this guy has been on a ridiculous tear. He's on a 23 fight unbeaten streak, one of those fights being a draw to UFC fighter, Kyle Noke way back in '07. And like Alvarez, this guy finishes people, 22/29 wins ending before the judges can hand down a horrible decision.

Arlovski - Yep, the man is on a 4 fight losing streak. Yeah, he's lost 3/4 by (T)KO. But he gets in there and goes for kill shots. Is it dumb? Perhaps. But that's why he's STILL a big name and that's why people will watch his fights. Look no further than his recent signing to headline the resurrection of ProElite. It's obvious he can still draw a crowd, otherwise they would've looked elsewhere.

And while he may or may not become somebody, he has fought WHO, exactly? The only person of note on his career path is Seth Baczynski, and Seth choked him out

And like you said, NOBODY knows this guy. How does that make him a top free agent? Usually you sign people that make you money. At least that's what everyone else would do.

Somehow I don't see Dana White nor Scott Coker holding a press conference stating that they just signed Eddie freaking Arizmendi. Heck, I don't even think Bjorn Rebney (Bellator CEO) would hold a press conference for this guy.

You can hate on the "Pitbull" all you want, but facts are facts. Still a name, still a draw. I don't see Arizmendi headlining anything. Not even a local show.

I think you're gonna have to do better than that.

Yes, free agents can be up and coming fighters. That does not make them TOP free agents. Kind of like "every square is a rectangle, but not every rectangle is a square." Top means top. Your boy Arizmendi is not a top free agent.

And in your haste to bash my boy Arlovski, you forgot to bring along a real argument against my ENTIRE first argument. I don't even know who your other 2 fighters are. Are you picking Arizmendi over all 3 of my guys? I'm confused. If that's the case, this throwdown was over at the bell.

[b]Alvarez- Many people rank this guy #3 lightweight in the world. He's the Bellator Lightweight Champion and has pretty much destroyed everyone put in front of him, including Roger Huerta. That in itself is no easy task. You gonna tell me you don't wanna see Alvarez/Melendez or Alvarez/Edgar? Child please.

[b]Lombard- Like Alvarez, he's destroying everybody. Even more so than Alvarez. He's the Bellator Middleweight Champion, so he'd be a nice addition to a shallow UFC division in need of challengers for Anderson Silva. Lombard/Silva? I'll buy the PPV right now.
