Alright, let's do this! (sharpens sword)
My bad, wrong type of battle.
The top 3 MMA "free agents" are:
1. Eddie Alvarez (Bellator)
2. Hector Lombard (Bellator)
3. Andrei Arlovski (ProElite)
Alvarez - has only been to Decision 3 times in his career, winning all of them. 19/22 wins are finishes. So when he gets into the cage he look for the kill. EVERY fan wants a guy like that on their $50 PPV.
Lombard - Much like Alvarez, this guy has been on a ridiculous tear. He's on a 23 fight unbeaten streak, one of those fights being a draw to UFC fighter, Kyle Noke way back in '07. And like Alvarez, this guy finishes people, 22/29 wins ending before the judges can hand down a horrible decision.
Arlovski - Yep, the man is on a 4 fight losing streak. Yeah, he's lost 3/4 by (T)KO. But he gets in there and goes for kill shots. Is it dumb? Perhaps. But that's why he's STILL a big name and that's why people will watch his fights. Look no further than his recent signing to headline the resurrection of ProElite. It's obvious he can still draw a crowd, otherwise they would've looked elsewhere.
Good luck. (sword still at side, just in case)

are you kidding me?
Lol it's a joke that proelite is maineventing that guy.. lol ..he's not a TOP FREE AGENT..
My pick probably nobody knows..
Eddie ???Crazy Face??? Arizmendi
he's on a 9 fight winning streak
15-2 in mma.. MIDDLEWEIGHT TO KEEP YOUR EYE ON..
he's now in M1
my next pick..
MMA Spartan: 4800 fans! said 07/11, 08:59 PM
Arizmendi is 15-4, not 15-2. #JustSaying
And while he may or may not become somebody, he has fought WHO, exactly? The only person of note on his career path is Seth Baczynski, and Seth choked him out
And like you said, NOBODY knows this guy. How does that make him a top free agent? Usually you sign people that make you money. At least that's what everyone else would do.
Somehow I don't see Dana White nor Scott Coker holding a press conference stating that they just signed Eddie freaking Arizmendi. Heck, I don't even think Bjorn Rebney (Bellator CEO) would hold a press conference for this guy.
You can hate on the "Pitbull" all you want, but facts are facts. Still a name, still a draw. I don't see Arizmendi headlining anything. Not even a local show.
I think you're gonna have to do better than that.

How does that make him a top free agent?
Fighting bums or not, he's got a 9 win streak, Arizmendi. That's very hard to do in mma. Don't understimate a streak..
You can hate on the "Pitbull" all you want, but facts are facts. Still a name, still a draw
Guranteed Dana doesn't want anything to do with him. Dana's cutting guys that have 3 losses in a row, in the ufc!
Arlovski has a name, but a NAME doesn't make you a top free agent.
Usually you sign people that make you money.
free agents are prospects too. If Dana sees somebody riding a 10 figfht win streak, he's going to think about bringing him in, trust me! "Crazy Face", is a talented striker, Dana could see money signs with him.. He might be knocking out Scott Wonderful lol, but he's still knocking them out. Arlovski's last fight was durty. Arlovski got knocked silly.. Dana doesn't want Tim Sylvia either.. While the might have big names, they were also in a less talented heavyweight divsion... Name me some greats from their era?
take your gamble on the "Crazy Face" .. he's knocking heads..

Yes, free agents can be up and coming fighters. That does not make them TOP free agents. Kind of like "every square is a rectangle, but not every rectangle is a square." Top means top. Your boy Arizmendi is not a top free agent.
And in your haste to bash my boy Arlovski, you forgot to bring along a real argument against my ENTIRE first argument. I don't even know who your other 2 fighters are. Are you picking Arizmendi over all 3 of my guys? I'm confused. If that's the case, this throwdown was over at the bell.
I'll just pump my other 2 guys:
[b]Alvarez- Many people rank this guy #3 lightweight in the world. He's the Bellator Lightweight Champion and has pretty much destroyed everyone put in front of him, including Roger Huerta. That in itself is no easy task. You gonna tell me you don't wanna see Alvarez/Melendez or Alvarez/Edgar? Child please.
[b]Lombard- Like Alvarez, he's destroying everybody. Even more so than Alvarez. He's the Bellator Middleweight Champion, so he'd be a nice addition to a shallow UFC division in need of challengers for Anderson Silva. Lombard/Silva? I'll buy the PPV right now.
Guess I didn't need this after all. (puts sword away)

shut up man
I got Nate the GREAT.. he's better than all 3 of your picks.
Nate the Great would run M1, would run Bellator, and would run Dream..
Nate the Great.
the guy beat Maia in 21 seconds..
Nate the GReat is the biggest free agent out there.. not arlovski , and i'll exchange crazy face for Hector Lombard..
there you have it..
