Lions Record: 7-9
People are jumping on this Lion bandwagon too fast...
They still have a crappy secondary and a QB made of glass.

So you have them winning one more game than last year? I have them winning at least 4 more then last year and here are some of my reasons.
First, I expect Stafford to play more than two games. Players get hurt that is a part of the game. It is yet to be seen if he will never play a full 16 game season. So, lets stick to the facts.
Out of the 10 games they lost last year 7 of them were lost in the last qtr and in most cases in the last 5 minutes. That being said they could of easily been 10-6 last year had they not of been so inexperienced at winning and holding late game leads. We all remember the non TD of Megatron in game one. What about that amazing comeback against the Eagles that ended in defeat due to being a young team. They had the Jets until Stafford went down again. Both games against Chicago went to the last possession. The one loss to Green Bay was a fluke. AND like I said they held the super bowl champs to 3 points in a game right before the playoffs.
All that with a second or third string QB starting the games in 14 instances. I expect Stafford to play at least 12-13 games this year greatly increasing their chances at winning.

Stafford is the most fragile QB in football. Sure some QB get injured and miss a game or two. However, Stafford has only played 13 games in his two seasons, missing 19 games!
And what makes you think he playing is gonna make a big difference? He has a 67.1 QB rating in his 13 career games, throwing more picks (21) than TD (19). The teams record with him in the lineup is 3-10, and last year was 1-2.
Their starting HB, Jahvid Best, only averaged 3.2 yards per carry. He only got 555 yards in 16 games last season with only 4 TD. They don't have a running game to take the pressure off the pass game.
The loss to Green Bay wasn't a fluke. No loss is a fluke. And that win against the Packers right before the playoffs, was actually four weeks prior to the playoffs. Also, Rodgers missed over half the game with a concussion. Not to mention that the Lions only scored 7 in that game...
And the Lions haven't improved much with personal. In the draft, they had the fewest picks of any team with only 5 picks, and they spent their first rounder on position of already strength. They made no improvements on the O-Line or their crappy secondary.

Leaning strongly right here. 10-6 seems way too optimistic and I agree with the porcelain Stafford reference.

It's amazing the confidence you use in your statement. The lions held them to a field goal right before the playoffs. AND they almost got the Pack in the first meeting.

Well had Rodgers played the second half they probably would have had another field goal. Flynn threw a redzone pick that Rodgers most likely wouldn't have. THe chances are about 50 times more likely that Rodgers throws a TD than a pick.
Also Detriot only scored 7 points so it's not like their offense did anything either.
Just sayin.

The Lions will be a better team - but minus any lucky breaks, 2011 looks like 8-8 to me...
(Nobody will overlook the Lions this year - for a change - hence the marginal improvement, on what should be a more solid, seasoned unit.)
However, once the Lions get used to teams actually "getting up" to play them, they will start to do damage.

The Lion's secondary is still garbage... you may not be able to run against Suh/Fairley, but nothing in their secondary scares quarterbacks. Rodgers and his quick release will have a field day with them.

It will be Week 17. Packers will have the division locked up, and the only reason I can see them playing the majority of their starters for the majority of the game is if they need a win for a bye or home field advantage.
