Its supposed to be "AID" in US, "RELIEF" in Canada and "AID" in UK.

A very good message and well thought out. But let's not forget our own jobless/homeless starving Citizens in our own backyards throughout the States and Canada.

If we can't help our own people here at home than how can we provide help for those abroad? Let's do both....

I would much, much rather help the United States prosper as a nation and help the people that live here than help another country with their struggles. But I do what I can to help the American people with their struggles. I am always willing to help people, though, so I'll gladly send a text.

With all do respect to the cause presented, I agree. If this country keeps going down this path, we won't be here anymore to bail everybody else out.

Food is a weapon of war in Somalia, aid is kept from those out of power and siphoned off by those in power.

Great, then you won't mind paying extra taxes then here right? Maybe if enough of us get together we can over come this "never raise taxes on millionaires EVER" stance by a certain group of people in congress.

What would that have to do with helping the people in need here, like the homeless? Or the hungry? Just because the United States raises taxes on millionaires, doesn't mean that it's going to be used to help the homeless or the hungry.

Nothing against Somalia, but aid can't get through properly. Just like in 1993, terrorist and now even pirates either hijack the aid trucks or tax them an incredibly high amount. Aid can't get to those who need it.

And due to UN Policy, UN soliders can't fire their weapons or do anything to protect the convoys.

So unless the US marines or NATO or someone goes in to take out the terrorist (which would be impossible, due to the same reasons as what happened during the famous 'Black Hawk Down' mission, and since everyone in Somailia has a gun, and Somalians don't like international intervention in their country).

I'm not saying don't donate, but giving money to say Kenya (which is also going through a famine and is getting a huge amount of Somalian refugees) might be a better idea, and more of your money will make it to the people that need it, and less out of terrorist hands.
