I say Marco Bellenili of the Warriors.
The guy is a proven scorer and he can Dunk, Shoot, Shoot 3's, great free throw shooter, steals, Pass, and is a great hustle player. But 1 of the best things i like about him is his QUICK release. His Range is said to be unlimited. Also he can 360 dunk and throw down for a 6'5 guy. Something not alot of people know about him is his Passing and his stealing ability. He can make plays and is a deflection threat. He is great on the fast break and will be great for NELLIE ball.
And if you think he wont get time your sadly mistaken Don Nelson had a interview and said he whats him in the satrting lineup ASAP.
And if you think he wont start playing quickly Jackson is out for the first 8 GAMES and some1 needs to step up and he said Marco is the 1 and the only rookie that he is counting on.
I know im taking a little bit of a gamble but the kid has skills.

I was thinking about choosing Rudy Fernandez but how can he help a helpless team in Portland?

Then I thought about Nick Young but I doubt he will do much being the sidekick to Gilbert Arenas in the backcourt.

Finally, I came to it: Julian Wright. Why? The system he's in. He'll be in New Orleans with Chris Paul runnin' the break. He'll have more opportunities to drive the lane and be the great slasher that he is. Now, I know he isn't the best shooter but him and Paul will form quite the duo.

My concern with Belinelli? Adjusting to the pro game. The international way of playing is so different from that in the NBA that it will take him a year or two. It's not easy for most international players to come to the League in their first year and become a force for their team.

Another thing, he's too skinny. He'll need to bulk up if he wants to play in the NBA. Wright, however, is good sized and pretty strong already. He is more ready to play. Belinelli never really faced any top flight competition where as Wright has played for an elite college team the past two years. Belinelli will also have trouble adapting to how quick the defenders are in the NBA.

ok im disapointed with your pick...
Julian Wright defffenitly wont start!!! DAVID WEST and TYSON CHANDLER is a great post Chris paul does the same stuff as Baron Davis. Really if you look at Chris Paul you will see Baron.

Did you not see him in the summer league the guy had a 37 POINT PERFORMANCE and was in 2nd PLACE FOR MVP. He has gotten more BULKY and bigger he was playing in the EUROPE FIBA tourney and his arms looked alot bigger. He can play NBA style.
Also if its the competition your worried about the guy had a great game last olympics aginst USA he was lighting AI, Timmy D and all the up.
The guy will Be much productive and hes ready they said that playing over in europe is bigger and harder than playing in the NCAA.
The guy has alot of promising abilitys really Nellie ball he will be amazing.....

Last year, New Orleans finished 39-43 and missed the playoffs. You think they are going to keep their starting lineup? That's crazy. They're going to change it and one of those changes will be bringing in a talented rookie in Julian Wright.

And, yes, Belinelli played well in the summer league but it is exactly that, a SUMMER LEAGUE. It means nothing. The competition is nowhere near what he'll face in the season.

Are you saying that the level of play for an elite Division I college basketball team isn't as good as Europe? Besides, in last year's Euroleague, Belinelli averaged only 12.9 ppg which is way below what this guy should be averaging if he's as good a scorer as you say.

Also, he relies too heavily on his perimeter jump shot. He doesn't have a good mix of drive and shoot. You said he's a great ball handler and passer? They're not good enough to play the point in the NBA. Maybe over in Europe, but definitely not in the NBA. Players are quicker, stronger, and more aggressive when going after another player defensively.

Now, the thing that I love about Wright is his versatility. He creates a mismatch wherever he is playing due to his great all-around skills.

Warriors are alright, I don't think he will make as big of an impact as Fernandez will for the Blazers.

Three fourths of this is inaccurate. Its fiction. And this throwdown embarrasses me to be involved with FanNation. Tremendously. And this throwdown had to have been argued by a person who didnt have a child. And has never had a child that had their HEART BROKEN and come home upset. And had to deal with that child when he is upset. And kick a person when hes down! Heres all that kid did. He goes to class. Hes respectful to the media. Hes respectful to the PUBLIC. And hes a good kid, and hes not a professional throwdowner, and he doesnt deserve to be kicked when hes down. If you have a child someday, youll understand how it feels. But you obviously dont have a child. I do. If your child goes down the street, and someone makes fun of him because he misspelled a word in a throwdown, or SAYS HES FAT, and he comes home crying to his mom, youd understand. But you havent had that. But someday you will. And when your child comes home, youll understand. If you want to go at a throwdowner, ONE OF MY THROWDOWNERS, you go after one that doesnt do the right things. You dont downgrade him because he does everything right and may not argue as well on Saturday. And you let us make that decision. Thats why I dont read the throwdowns. BECAUSE THEYRE GARBAGE. And the throwdownee that let it come out IS GARBAGE. Attacking an amateur throwdowner for doing everything right. And then you want to right blogs about guys that dont do things right, and downgrade those who do make good throwdowns. Are you kidding me? Where are we at in society? COME AFTER ME! IM A MAN! IM 14! IM NOT A KID. RIGHT SOMETHING ABOUT ME or our moderators. Dont right it about a kid that does everything right. Thats heart is broken. And then say that the coaches said he was scared. THAT AINT TRUE. And then to say that we made that decision because he was. Because he threatened to transfer. THATS NOT TRUE. So get your facts straight. And I hope someday you have a child and someone downgrades him or belittles him, and you have to look him in the eye and say you know what? Its okay. Theyre suppose to be mature adults but they really arent. Whos the kid. Whos the kid here? Are you kidding me? Thats all I got to say. Makes me wanna puke!

Dude you dont know anything about Marco B
1.) He played Team USA in olympics and had 25+ pts aginst good competition

2.) He has gained some muscle and weight since the draft.

3.) The competition is said to be better in Europe than the NCAA.

4.) Fast Defenders Marcos release is like nobody elses.

5.) The guy is really versitle.

September 29, 2007  10:02 PM ET

IrishR#1, that is completely ridiculous...

You're a kid, I don't see why you are saying "Who's the kid?"

September 29, 2007  10:02 PM ET

what the f u ck are you talking about?????

September 29, 2007  10:03 PM ET

I may not know a lot about Marco, but still. I don't think he will be as big of an impact for the Warriors since they ALREADY are a playoff team. The Blazers are not, I think Rudy would be more of an impact.
