So, when Schaub 1st round KO's Nog can we finally admit that Fedor, Nog, and CroCrop were never really top fighters?
Or are the Zuffa haters going to continue to hang on to nothing?

I do believe Shaub wins this fight over Nog, but I do not see how that has anything to do with Nog never being a top HW.
It's obvious Big Nog is one of the top HW's ever in MMA. His boxing skills and sick BJJ posed problems for other fighters for a decade.
Nog has been in many wars and its finally caught up to him. These wars and the many injuries have cause Nog to not be the fighter he once was. This happens to all great athletes. They age and become injured.
Nog is coming off surgery on his knee, and both his hips. He has been out of the cage for 18 months. All of this after already showing signs of wear and tear. He is fighting a top HW prospect who is hungry and looking to rise up the rankings.
When Shaub beats Nog it will have zero impact on the imprint Nog has left on the sport of MMA. He has already solidified his place in the alltime rankings.
I'm as big a Zuffa backer as they come, but you my friend take the cake. I wonder if you work for Zuffa because I don't get what your agenda is here.
If you are a true MMA fan, they you have to admit Nog is one of the top HW's of alltime. Cro Cop and Fedor included.

Fedor has only beaten Nog and Crocop, They are each others tree. Can you please explain to me why none of the 3 can compete in the deep end of the pool? They spent their entire careers wading in the shallow end and now there is only a deep end available and they cant swim.
Make up all the excuses you want. The Results are the Results.
JimJ77 Can't make it up said 08/26, 02:04 PM
None of them are top level fighters anymore because the fight games has passed them by. Once again this is the same as any other sport. Athletes age and the sport passes them by, but this does not take away from the fact that when they were in their prime they were 3 of the top HW fighters in the world.
As of 3 years ago, Fedor and Nog were the consensus top 2 HW's in the world. Even Sherdog who does not have a great relationship always had Fedor ranked #1 until Fedor finally lost to Werdum.
Nog has beaten 4 former UFC HW champs. Fedor has 5 wins over former UFC HW champs. Did they prove that the UFC and Zuffa did not have the best HW's? You bet your ass they did. Pride had the best HW's.
You wanted results, those were the results. Thats black and white. Thats factual. I'd like you to make 1 god damn good point in your 3 args. Just 1. I'm begging you.
Stop blabbing about these guys were never good and give me the fighters that were better during their prime.
You can't and you won't because Nog, Cro Cop, and Fedor were the best at one point. Unfortunately things don't last forever and they no longer are, but they were at one point, accept it.

They are in their prime.
Just say this: When he gets 1st round KO'd by someone who is not even close to a title contender taht you will say he really isnt that good a fighter. Please.
JimJ77 Can't make it up said 08/26, 04:50 PM
Is that really your 3rd arg? Honestly?
I'm not sure how many times I can say this, so I'm going to scream it now.
I THINK NOG IS WASHED UP AS A FIGHTER SO IF HE LOSES TO SCHAUB WHO IS AN UP AND COMING FIGHTER AND AT THE TOP OF THE GAME IT HAS NO BEARING ON WHERE NOG STANDS IN THE ALLTIME RANKINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The man is 32-6 and has beaten Randy Couture, Dan Henderson, Mark Coleman, Fabricio Werdum, Tim Sylvia, Cro Cop, and Josh Barnett to name a few.
He has left his mark on the sport of MMA. He was great in Pride, a promotion that held the best HW's on the planet at one time.
Nice TD by you, you made it through 3 args without making one valid point. Par for the course, eh Frankie.

What about Hendo and Shogun, who were top Pride fighters?

Silva and Hendo have been in just as many fights as Fedor and Nog but they are still winning at older ages...

Pride WAS better than UFC WAS....but Pride was NEVER better than UFC currently IS...and since quite a few top Pride fighters are currently in their "prime" and losing on a regular basis, including Fedor, people need to accept that what Pride WAS isn't all that special and doesn't really matter.....LOTS of people won often in Pride despite being mediocre fighters...

so, in order to consider Fedor and Nog "good", we suddenly elevate better fighters to being "freaks of nature"? That sounds like an american educational system where everyone gets a gold star no matter what...rather than fail the failing students, we give them average grades and suddenly categorize the slightly above average students as being "exceptional" so no one has to be stuck in the category of "stupid student" The way I see it, Silva and Hendo are "good" and those that fail to measure up are just not so good...

to put it another way, if the best are winning impressively at 36 and 40 years old, Fedor/Nog/Cro Cop/anyone would also have to be winning impressively when he gets to be that age to even be considered to close to the same level...since they're not, they simply are NOT nearly as good....
